typhoonsmum · 12/05/2007 18:57

Thanks Twoplusone. I looked yesterday and couldn't find member profiles anywhere.

I'll email you the photos.

Hello everyone, where's the time going? I've turned into a single mum as DH is going away with work every 5 mins - huge respect to single mums, no idea how you do it. I've just watched the Eurovision song contest and feel very sad. In the meantime I've found a house and hope that we'll exchange in the next - 6 weeks and 6 days if baby's not early! Haha. We're moving out of our flat before then so we might end up in a hotel for a week or 2... Anyone any ideas of a better plan? Already have a 17 month old so would really quite like a garden for him to run around.
I think this baby's turned round and is now head down - anyone else? The hard lump sticking out the top of my tummy is his bum I'm sure. I'm such a different shape from last time, so hopefully this one isn't going to end up back-to-back at the last minute. He's such a squirmer (instead of a kicker!) it really makes me feel sick.
Right - hoping to be on MN a little more now we have our house hopefully more sorted. Moving house at 39 weeks might be a bit of a stretch tho!
Off to bed - good luck with sleeping everyone - and with PE, reflux, legcramps, crazy employers and rude comments! Not long to go now...

Jamantha · 13/05/2007 05:51

Morning 3flights, don't know if this is viable or not but can you get a holiday rental anywhere (suitably) near you? When we moved here the woman we bought off played silly games over the moving date and we ended up homeless for a week - rented a holiday cottage to fill the gap. Not particularly cheap, but prob no more than, a bit nicer than a hotel?

Trimum2 · 13/05/2007 11:02

Swift - we are off to centreparcs tomorrow for a few days. Purpose of hol exactly what you describe... spending a bit of quality time on DS1 before no.2 arrives. I have found myself getting very teary over the impending change in dynamics and the fact that it won't be just him anymore. I am an eldest child with 3 siblings, so I know that you must just get used to it! But I can't help feeling that this will be the end to a special time.

Isn't it mad the way everyone is moving house / redecorating all at the same time?! We must all be mad...

typhoonsmum · 13/05/2007 12:30

Can't believe some of us are at 34 ish weeks. That is practically over.
Reading 3flights post just made it all a bit more real. You are only 4 weeks ahead of me and you have 6 weeks to go.
I'M NOT PREPARED. I'M NOT BL###Y READY YET.
The bathroom needs finishing, the nursery needs starting.
Has anyone else changed their mind and decided increasing family may not be the best idea. I don't do pain. I've convinced myself I'll be late like I was with DD but what if I'm not. What if in 10 weeks (or less) I have a new baby
{runs around the house screaming emotion}

3flightsofstairs · 13/05/2007 13:25

Thanks Jamantha, brilliant idea of a holiday rental. Or a serviced apartment where someone else can do our laundry and make our beds!

Miaou · 13/05/2007 13:36

Hi everyone, aren't we all busy atm? I am mega busy just now - we are moving house on 1st June (and we are moving 200+ miles away!) Our landlord is being an arse and so we have decided to cut our losses and go somewhere where there is less pressure on housing and more jobs (no chance of a council house round here and very little work). Consequently I am having a massive, ruthless clearout (see all my For Sale threads!) in a desperate attempt to de-clutter before we move. Quite excited about the move but glad to be doing it now - should be installed in our new place with about 7 weeks to go before db is due!

I saw a thread on MN earlier about how uncomfortable people are with 10 weeks to go - I felt almost guilty cos I feel fab!! I do have occasional heartburn but my sleep does seem to be settling down again - I'm so busy during the day atm though that I'm just exhausted and fall asleep straightaway!! My bump is quite small and neat so doesn't get in the way. I am aware how fortunate I am though!

Have added TYPHOONSMUMS D PHOTO to my Profile page click on the yellow scroll thing to the right of my name..

Typhoonsmum, to put them onto your own profile you need to open a my mumsnet..
The picture is so cute.. really nice chubby cheeks..

pulapula · 13/05/2007 16:03

Wow- Typhoonsmum- your 3D scan photo is amazing. He looks like a real cutie.

I am finding it really hard to picture my LO. On the 20 week scan, he looked just like his big sister did which made me think he was going to be a she, til we zoomed in on his private parts!

Even though he kicks/wriggles all the time, I still find it hard to work out what position he's in or how big he is. I am sure he is head down (he was at my 30 week midwife appointment) as I get some grinding feelings way down low, as though he's turning his head in my pelvis. He does some good kicks to my bladder/kidneys too which make me cry out loud! I've also been having loads of braxton hicks contractions, mostly at the top of my uterus, which started about a week ago.

I have probably only 6 weeks to go now, as I will be 33 weeks tomorrow, and likely to have c-section at 39 weeks.

I feel a bit more prepared since I bought a double buggy on ebay for £10 (bargain!), but its a nightmare to manouvre! I am impressed with those of you moving house/ going on holiday/ decorating- I can barely get off the sofa...!

Wow Miao and everybody else planning on moving house and extensive building work.

I'm not sure I can hold on 10 more weeks! Feel enormous and get breathless from walking far and very tired. I REALLY need to get to the swimming pool to do some proper exercise, without hauling all my extra about. Baby is rooting around in my pelvis all the time, but feels like it's kicking/headbutting my lungs too.

typhoonsmum · 13/05/2007 21:57

I think I've managed a profile thingy. Feel free to look and see if i did it right. Thanks Twoplusone.
Have been really tired today and very ratty.
I'm not a nice person to know at the moment. I'll scream at you if you so much as look at me. I was so calm and serene with DD pregnancy. Could it be a boy baby thing?

Miaou · 13/05/2007 21:58

Could be. I was vile when I was pg with ds. Am all calmness and serenity this time (don't know what I'm having though!!)

typhoonsmum · 13/05/2007 21:59

Damn profile yellow thing WHERE ARE YOU! Oh forget it I'm going to watch LOST!

JennsterSlugSlayer · 13/05/2007 22:20

I've been thinking this too typhoonsmum. Have been a right so and so recently. Can't help it, and I know I'm doing it to. Was the most serene I have ever been when pregnant with dd. Am convinced this one is a boy.

JennsterSlugSlayer · 13/05/2007 22:23

TYPHOONSMUM

Click on My mumsnet (fourth bit along) on the blue bar underneath the beige bar that says Mumsnet at the top of the page. Log in and then there is a page which has My public mn and my private mn. It's the public bit where you can set up your profile, not that I've managed it.....

typhoonsmum · 13/05/2007 22:29

Thanks Jennster, I've tried that but nothing is happening. It's too late in the night now.. I'll try again tomorrow.
I'm convinced that baby boys give of testosterone. That might be what is making me bad tempered. Well that is my theory anyway. prob no science base at all.

yes firststar, I had just got a job - I'm impressed you remembered!(I will have been there five weeks when I leave!!) Yes I will be closer to the hospital (though a different one) but we are talking 25 miles instead of 45 so not exactly round the corner! Plus unfortunately they have no birthing pool, which is a big disappointment

foxybrown · 14/05/2007 15:14

Hello, will you be my friends?
I'm actually due on 29th June, but am likely to be jumping ship from the June thread to July if the last one is anything to go on! (10 days late)

Thought I should duck in and introduce myself! Can I add myself to the stats list, I see there are a few end-of-june ones already? And it is the longest stats list I have ever seen! Was it a particularly cold November??

Miaou · 14/05/2007 15:22

LOL and welcome foxy - yes we are a big group aren't we!! Abgirl is fab with the stats, we'll give her a gentle reminder on Thursday (she puts them out on Fridays)

Hello everyone, just a little happy post to say I am still at home- yey!
The doctor called with my pre-eclampsia blood test results today & everything is fine!! She still pointed out that I need to rest as much as possible etc. etc. so am taking her advice as far as I can. I am due at the day obstetric unit on Thursday for more tests & scans but hopefully they won't show any problems & the fact that little one is a wee bit, well, little, doesn't mean anything too scary. I feel fine in myself & so hoping I stay PE-free....

Weddingcake- how did you get on at the hospital today? Have been thinking about you a lot. I really hope they have let you come home. Rest as much as you can (preferably lying on your left side) but do keep a good eye on any symptoms & don't be afraid to call the hospital at the slightest thing.

Miaou- good luck with the move! I don't think I could even contemplate it so a lot of respect!!! I really hope it goes smoothly and everyone settles in well before your little addition arrives.... Will you still be in a beautiful part of the world? Hope so!

Twoplusone- hope you are not feeling too worried, although it's impossible not to when you have had previous experience to make you worry! Shame it's so long until your scan....Try to rest as much as you can with DCs!! What was the reason behing IUGR for you last time? Thinking of you xx

OK back to the sofa for me...well will just get the washing in first as it's starting to pour here!

Hugs to you all xxoo

Jamantha · 14/05/2007 16:24

foxybrown - I misread your post and thought you were ducking in to induce yourself

Don't know about dark autumn nights. To date only know of a couple of people with July birthdays (though that might be about to change). However, I know loads of folks (including myself) with a November birthday, and have always thought that Feb nights must be particularly dark and dull.
