Can't believe we need more space... again...

Evening ladies - sorry not been keeping up. Can't belive we are on our fourth (I think) thread...

Sorry for all those who've got aches and pains. I'm doing pretty well, but am just feeling heavy and out of shape. Evan walking up stairs tires me out which doesn't bode well for the birth . I also use the pillow between my knees trick and it works a treat for me.

Hope you are all doing well!!!

agnesnitt · 19/04/2007 09:30

I'm having this baby evicted! Last night I woke to go to the loo about every two hours. Not good at all. I am lacking in impressed.

Agnes

(grumpy as hell)

Caroline1852 · 19/04/2007 09:45

I was reading these threads the other day re aches and pains and poor sleep and the need for extra pillows and thinking "poor her and poor her" but also "thank goodness I've escaped most of that so far". Last night I slept very badly, visits to the loo, a wasp in the room trapped behind the curtains (but too stupid to find the open window grrr), aching legs, LO doing his disco dancing, then DD who never wakes up at night woke at 5.30am with real tears.... not sure what was up with her, perhaps a bad dream. I must have woken every half hour (probably exagerrating but that is how it seemed). I completely overdid things yesterday - did masses of housework (the post Easter clean up having had lots of guests for the holidays), gardening, made curtains late into the evening and then felt so very heavy legged and shattered at supper time I could scarcely eat. I suspect that did not help. Has anyone else got heavy legged feeling at the end of the day - is my 4th baby and I have never experienced it before.

Cyee · 19/04/2007 10:03

Quickie from me - Typhoonsmum, visit this web site - it has a whole section on reclaiming your bank charges along with template letters to send to your bank. Good luck!

Myfairone · 19/04/2007 14:29

Typhoonsmum - The website Cyee recommended is excellent and I highly recommend using the templates on there. It really is disgusting how they let that come out without informing you. I have in the past read them the riot act (the Direct debit law!) and had them refunded because they breached the agreement! Hope you manage to sort it out.

Caroline - yes to the heavy legged feeling. After my commute from London home I have a 5 minute walk home and it feels like 5 hours! My legs are so heavy by the time I get home
I am with you on the sleeping! I wake up every hour in the night and although I don't have other children my DH woke me up screaming in his sleep last night!!!! Thats all I need!!!!!

Agnes (or should I call you grumpy?!) You're not alone....do you feel better now?

So how are we all today? Apart from tired/exhausted/aching backs/aching hips/heavy tums/heavy legs? Everyone okay?!

agnesnitt · 19/04/2007 14:29

I feel heavy legged when I haven't been able to get out and have a walk. It doesn't matter how active I have been in the house, it seems to be the actual getting out and walking thing that keeps my legs from being utterly farked.

Agnes

Myfairone · 19/04/2007 14:37

Agnes, I get like that if I sit too long at work...although that said, its almost impossible to sit for longer than half an hour due to my need to pee constantly! Add into the equation that my desk is about as far away from the loo as is humanly possible, I don't sit for too long!

HOpe you have a good afternoon.

agnesnitt · 19/04/2007 15:46

I'm doing the school run again now, ten minutes there and back, twice a day. Not a lot, but it means I at least stretch my legs. If I go for a wander about the shops as well it means I get the stretch out the niggles.

Afternoon was bleurgh. Hope everyone else had more fun

Agnes

agnesnitt · 19/04/2007 16:10

Okay...

Random craving alert!

I need a bowl of vanilla ice cream with chocklic on top!

Argh!

I have the ice cream, but there be absolutely no chocolate in the house, and I have twenty pence to my name so the shop is not an option.

Myfairone · 19/04/2007 16:16

Agnes, have the kids got any stashed anywhere? Have you checked every last hiding place?

Good luck on your hunt!

I'm sitting at work bored out of my brains...I have work to do but have no concentration today. Seem to just be surfing constantly for random things that come into my head...nearly got caught comparing breast pumps earlier!

Jamantha · 19/04/2007 16:33

Been back to docs. Saw different GP, much more helpful. BP fine, no protein, but trace of blood and sugar in urine. So this tiem he's happy that there's no PE, but blood test next week to check for diabetes. Kind of takes the shine off the jelly beans DH brought back from his trip.

Agnes, how did you get on with the choc hunt???? Ive saw me putting any kind of choc into the blender and sprinkled it all over my ice-cream, hope you found something.

Jamantha, hope all goes ok with the diabetes test, i have that in two weeks if my urine doesnt show up as normal.

Myfairone, firstar hope you are both finishing up soon with work, just in time for you to take it easy in the summer.

We're still taking tiles off the bathroom wall, and its a bloody nightmare, cant wait till its all finished, god knows when that'll be as we need to start on the loft convertion next

Hope everyones well and taking it easy (says her with the boiler suit on and mask ready to take tiles off the wall again)

typhoonsmum · 19/04/2007 18:36

Looked on that website and those letters are good. Even got myself a reserve bank account.
SKY sent me a letter saying that before the consider reversing the charge they need proof that I will get charged as a result of them taking the money.
WHY WOULD I MAKE IT UP!

typhoonsmum · 19/04/2007 18:39

Have about 6 easter eggs left. DD not that interested in them. Oh well me and splodge are enjoying them.

Anyone got any good Boys names. Like classic and biblical ones. Middle name will be William and last name Woodfin so it's

???????? William Woodfin.

agnesnitt · 19/04/2007 21:48

Typhoonsmum, I like Josiah if you're looking for biblical, it goes well with the other two names too

There is no chocolate chez Agnes... Denied

Agnes

pulapula · 20/04/2007 05:53

Typhoonsmum,

How about:

Joseph (Joe)
Jacob (Jake)
James (Jamie)

I think the 'J' names go very well with your surname/ middlename. What's your DDs name, as it needs to go well with that too.

Caroline1852 · 20/04/2007 09:22

George William Woodfin - everyone loves the name George.

Groveregg · 20/04/2007 09:41

Hmm I am having real problems with boys' names too, it seems the only one that dh and I can agree on has already been used on ds - Jonathan. I cannot even summon the strength to think of any more as I feel convinced it will be a girl this time (with no evidence to back me up whatsoever!).

Keep strong with the tiles lynnec, I have completely lost my marbles this week with the ongoing bathroom saga (still another 4 or 5 days to go) and this morning our boiler went bonkers and leaked hot water all over my Lush bath bomb stash so I now have a binbag full of sweet-smelling pink sludge instead of a cupboard full of treats. Dh is now actually suggesting that I go hormonal and burst into tears in front of the builders to get them moving a bit faster - and I think today might be the day!!!

IME builders get really very distressed by a woman's tears..... I would imagine tears from a pregnant woman will have them working through the night. We have had lots of builders in our time and I have always taken the "totally relaxed and serve lots of tea, good cakes and biscuits" tack. All jobs got finished within reasonable time frame (and to a very good standard) but there was the odd occasion when they would disappear from my house in order to put all hands on deck for someone who was complaining loudly (perhaps even crying?). It's difficult to strike a balance isn't it?

Myfairone · 20/04/2007 11:22

Jamantha - Glad to hear that BP is fine. Good luck with the diabetes test, try not to worry about it.

Firststar - I am finding it so hard to concentrate at work, but not at the tearful stage yet. I plan on working till 22nd June (when I will be 35 weeks) as long as the trains don't get too hot before then! I hope you feel better and maybe if you set yourself a date to leave you will feel better. And don't worry about work too much. They will have to cope without you and you need to put you first!

LynneC - I have had experience taking tiles off the wall it plays havoc with your nails! Don't over do it!

Typhoonsmum - Its ridiculous! Just unnecessary and uncalled for! Good luck with it and that site is great to keep your eye on for moneysaving.
Noah William Woodfin????

Talking of names, I too am having a nightmare with getting DH motivated to discuss it with me. He just doesnt see the urgency but I don't want to the only one in hospital with the 'baby with no name'!

I have my 26 weeks midwife appointment this afternoon....be nice to hear LO heartbeat!

Hope you all feel well, and big hugs to all.

Jamantha · 20/04/2007 11:53

Feeling more relaxed about sugar levels today. About 18 months ago they found sugar in my urine in a routine check at work - follow up blood tests were OK. Have been told that 1 in 6 pregant women leak sugar into urine, so could be nothing. Even if it is a sign of diabetes, worrying now isn't going to change it, so I'm just trying to be more sensible with my diet (while not actually "dieting") in the meantime.

Is making me think about finishing a week earlier than I'd originally thought though - was thinking of working til Jun 22nd (37 weeks) but now fancying the 15th (36 weeks). That's only 8 more weeks in the ofice - is focusing my mind on trying to finish some projects before I go.

Good luck with the tiles LynneC, we cheated when we did our bathroom and just tiled over the top of old ones, so can't offer any handy hints. And do keep us posted with success of tears tactics Groveregg.
