Morning MIAMT
That is weird - knowing by tomorrow night you will definitely have your baby! Have a relaxing day in the sunshine. Who is your buddy?

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 15/04/2007 09:00

Morning ladies. Ellie, thanks for sharing your birth story hun.

Katy, not sure what happens if you o/d on RLT - I would be inclined to stick to the suggested amount on the bottle.

LuceWheel, good luck with the packing!

CD, hope the dd's haven't created too much mess!

MIAMT, was thinking about you yesterday and how strange it must be knowing this is your last weekend as a family of 3. Hope you have a lovely day and wishing you the very best of luck tomorrow. Looking forward to hearing the news.

Nothing happening here. No more mucus, no more twinges - feel like everything has come to a standstill. Really hoped this babe might come early as well!

My parents are coming over today with one of my nephews. I am soooo looking forward to seeing him. My brother and sil moved to Singapore last August, so have not seen any of them since then, but Tiffy is back in the UK for a few weeks. Brother will be back next weekend for a couple of days as well, and I CANNOT WAIT to see him. I am kind of hoping the baby comes next week so that my brother can meet the lo. Would be great timing.

Right, need to haul arse upstairs for a shower.

Hope everyeone is feeling good, and that you enjoy the lovely sunshine.

See you later. x

Quick post - busy day ...

Good luck for tomorrow MIAM

Its my due date today!!!! Legs tightly crossed now ...

I slept for 10 hours last night - really needed it and feel soooo much better

Have a nice day all xxxxx

EllieKthePA · 15/04/2007 10:11

glad you got some sleep Octo x

hi all, just popping in before we head off to see mw.

then off to MIL for lunch, said would it be ok as then i don't have to cook tonight

i was picking Justin up and taking him there as he still has no car, planned it all, sent him a text after saying Joe could go in to the house for Justin to show him off, get one back saying ok but new gf may be there so depends if i'm ok with that. WTF???? spoke to MIL who agreed with me that you'd have thought he would be considerate enough to get her to leave before the time he knew i would be there, not ask me was it ok!

I haven't even seen Stephen since last weekend, and then it was only for an hour when him and his son came and played in the garden with matthew. i wouldn't dream of saying that to him, i'd make sure that Stephen had gone out at least.

TWAT!

sorry, rant over, hope you all have a good daaay, if I don't get on til too much later, GOOD LUCK MIAMT

xx

Morning all. Morning Ellie, sounds like it's all going really well for you. I do so admire you for looking after your 2 little boys, you really are a star .

Another beautiful day here. Mark & Em have gone off food shopping as we have eaten everything in the house and I really couldn't sum up the energy to push a trolley around myself. Lazy old hag I am. Planning to spend the day doing jobs in the garden, planting veggie seeds etc. in the sunshine.

Still getting lots of twinges and a little bit of blood last night - maybe something's happening (or maybe not, hate this sign-spotting thing). Just have to keep telling myself to make the most of this quiet time, and not rush things. But totally concur with the comments about clothes in this weather - nightmare as have one very unattractive pair of shorts (which look brilliant with my ankles) and a floaty top (which Em could happily camp under), so looking good (not). I am so vain!

MIAMT - wow! Good luck for tomorrow, what a strange thought that your LO will be making an appearance then. Hope it all goes fantastically well for you all and that James loves his new baby!

weeonion · 15/04/2007 10:38

good mornign folks! another sunny day here!

miamt - good luck for 2morro. you will possibly be starting the baby's off for the week for us. this time next week you will be home, new bro / sis for james and well settled. have a lovely day and enjoy tonight with phil. xoox

ellie - hope his mum has a chance to tell him to wise up- she sounded like a pretty sorted MIL so maybe he will have the GF offside before you arrive??

hope everyone else has a lovely day. will check in tonight for more news! xoxoxo

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 15/04/2007 10:41

Oohh Emmymummy, sounds positive stuff. Bring them on I say!

Hope you have a good day in the garden and that your dh brings home some lovely food. Did you give him a list?? My dh wouldn't have a clue what to buy. He even managed to buy thick bread instead of medium!!

Ohh Emmy - sounds promising!!!!

Octo - Happy Due Date Hun!!!! Have to say I'll be disappointed if your baby is no longer Ernie - I have grown very attached to that as his name! lol

SOSPL - Hope your baby times it right so that it can meet your rellies - that would be lovely.

Ellie - Have to say Tat is definatley the right word to describe him - inconsiderate Bastad! Hope your day goes ok hun and - my hat comes off to you - I am stressing looking after two and I have loads of help, I seriously think you are amazing managing as you do it must be very difficult at times.

Katy - my buddy is the lovely Maveta and is on the "Priority" list for texting tomorrow!

Right - just taken my Arnica - it says 2 every 2 hrs for the first 6 doses?? I have the 30cc pillules so I'll do that today.

Bit weary of taking any tomorrow after I take the meds for the section so may just then resume taking it afterwards like when I get back to the ward - do you think that will be ok?!
xxxx

muminamassivetummy · 15/04/2007 10:58

oooggs · 15/04/2007 12:03

Hi all

congrats hotlipsmummy

DH's birthday today and we must only place in uk with rain

claricebean · 15/04/2007 12:56

Hey everyone, hope you´re all ok. We´re fine here. Nipples v sore as mine alwaus are getting bf established, but birthing pain now behind me - hurrah!

Good luck to all those waiting, especially anyone overdue. I know what that feels like.

Well we have decided to swap round our daughter´s christian names, so she is now Ruby Laura. I´ve updated the stats thread.

Beautiful day here asI here it is in London too.

mammyjo · 15/04/2007 13:22

Hi clarice and oooggs, hope you are both getting on ok.

MIAMT, wishing you lots of luck and good wishes for tomorrow. Have a lovely quiet evening later. Will be thinking of you tomorrow. I am sure that leaving the arnica for a few hours then starting again after the section would be fine.

WO, you go girl! You sound so relaxed about everything and its brilliant. I had two completely different labour experiences. The first was laden with intervention but the second just gas and air, a few pushes and she came flying out! No comparison between the two but both incredibly positive and certainly not a horror story. I think some people just like to lay it on thick how difficult it was for them but ultimately as someone said, you will meet your baby at the end of it all and that has to be the most positive experience ever!

Octo, sending you non labour vibes. Hoping babe can stay put for a few more days!

Ellie, so glad you are ok. I too got up and had a shower shortly after dd was born. I had an epidural first time so it was a strange experience to be up and walking around! Know how you feel about that! Shame that Justin is being an arse, am sure you can keep him in check though!

Having a good day here. Ffions feeding frenzy has definitely calmed down and I feel like I do have a little time back now. She is so lovely, find myself filling up when I look at her. Still quite emotional but in a very happy, adore my family type way. Very soppy I know but its fab!

nuttygirl · 15/04/2007 13:41

Hi all, sorry haven't had time to catch up on all the nes so a big congrats to those that have had theirs and all the best to those that happened.

Erin Grace is now home (BIL & SIL just been to visit for an hour). Have had to formula feed...basically she would latch on but only suck a couple of times then lose interest. Also I had NO nipple sensitivity (could hand express with no discomfort) and couldn't tell when she was sucking correctly. Decided it wasn't worth the stress...was getting quite upset at how distressed Erin seemed while mw's were trying to get her to bf. Also she wasn't really making enough wet nappies for me to feel happy so we decided last night to switch to formula. Erin has been so much happier and alert since, so were really happy.

i don't reccommend rlt if you're a first timer....

So BIRTH STORY - Warning, if you're a first timer or scare easily DO NOT READ!!!!

Well I had a sweep on Thursday at 10am. MW said I was 1-2 cm dilated so was hopeful it would work. Was reading on here that sex after a sweep also helps labour start. (I've also been taking 425mg RLT twice a day since 38+2) Sowe had sex later that evening. I had a couple of v mild contractions (not sure if they were contractions or BHs). At 11pm my waters went with a POP!!!

Rang delivery suite and was advised to go to be checked over and make sure waters were clear. Got to delivery suite about 12pm. No bed on normal antenatal ward so was sent to a side ward on there where lady was sleeping and I was told not to disturb her. Mw came and did an internal (roughly) and then hooked me up to monitor. I had to lie on bed with only 1 pillow and was a bit uncomfy. Contractions started coming stronger and it was really hurting my back so I turned on my side. When mw came in she wanted to know why...DH told her it was hurting my back, she replied "That's what labour is". . I was sick a couple of times but when monitoring ended (1am) mw was happy for me to go home 'if I felt I could cope'. So I said yes (desperate to get out and home so I could keep active). But before I left I had another contraction and thought I was gonna be sick again, so decided to stay. Asked for a bath to relieve pain and was allowed to have one in a home-from-home room.

Once in bath contractions jumped to being 2 mins apart and really painful. DH went to find mw cos I wanted some pain relief. She was "on her break". He had to get a male mw to come and help cos I was screaming at him to get someone. He told me he couldn't give me anything "cos he's not my mw" He tried to help me breathe thro conts and was reluctant to ask my mw to give me anything because I was "gonna have another 10hrs or so of it". Basically I screamed and screamed at him til he agreed to get my mw to give me pethedine. They had to get me out of the bath. Conts were going through my legs so when I got one I was having to kneel on a bean bag (I grew quite attached to it ). They were makingme go back to the other room cos I "was not in actual labour yet". Couldn't walk for more than 5 secs between contractions. Got halfway to room (along main thoroughfair!) flashing my arse all the way to be told by my mw "we'll take her back cos that other woman needs to sleep" .

she took my beanbag

and frogmarched me to the room where I made a grab for the beanbag while she explained the pethedine. I couldn't have cared less what she was telling me. She said "didn't you expect some pain?" I said "not like this" and she said "I should write a book, I could make millions and wouldn't have to work here anymore" She gave me it and an anti sickness drug and told me I "had to get on the bed". I said "I need to push" and she looked rather and said "I'll have a look"...she said "You're ready to have it" and told me to start pushing. Erin was born at 3.27am. (2.5hrs after being told I could go home cos not in labour!).

Had a 2nd degree tear (internal tho) but I refused to let her stitch it, she wouldn't tell me how many it would take and said it would heal on it's own but I'd had enough.

Sorry it's so long...

nuttygirl · 15/04/2007 13:44

sorry didn't realise it was that long - i couldn't get it to do a preview!

oooggs · 15/04/2007 14:13

bet you were very unimpressed nuttygirl - glad Erin is feeding well. I have just about given up on bf. I can't manage it with twins and James and life. Don't really want to 'talk' about it as a bit upset, but it seems for the best for the family including the twins.

CaptainDippy · 15/04/2007 14:15

Fab Birth Story, nutty - Thank you for posting that!

Oooooh, how strange for you MIAMT - Very exciting though, eh!!!? CAN'T WAIT to hear all about your new arrival etc....

Feeling v.weird here - just feeling all stressy - like my head can't cope with everything, if that makes any sense!!!? I am just catching up on a few things for The National Childbirth Trust (I'm Antenatal Bookings Officer and PostNatal Contact for our local branch) and just can't concentrate...... Madness.....

Going to get out in the garden and dig some stuff up with him and DD1, I think - Need some sunshine.......

CaptainDippy · 15/04/2007 14:17

[[hugs]] oooggs - you've given them the best poss start hon - DO NOT beat yourself up - You are coping soooooo well - so you can't BF two small, demanding children, big deal!!!? I expect getting up with them in the night and coping with them all day is quite enough for now .... DON'T WORRY - You ARE an amazing mummy, trust me!!?

Tili · 15/04/2007 14:48

good afternoon everyone.

Wanted to wish MIAMT good luck for tomorrow. Will be thinking of you.

Everyone seems to be ok in the brief catch up I have just done. We all seem to be just plodding along dont we?

Going to see midwife tomorrow hopefully it will be my last appointment and baby comes this week.A bit of wishful thinking never hurt anyone did it ? I was a Day early with Beth so hoping for this week esp as Dh starts his hols tomorrow.
Anyway going to toddle off and tidy up Ihave done sod all this morning and Im feeling a bit bored now so I may resort to putting the hoover on !!! LOL

See you soon xx

CaptainDippy · 15/04/2007 14:50

Don't worry Tili - I am totally with you on the whole "cautiously optimistic" thing! We can live in hope ......

Tili · 15/04/2007 15:00

I was really hoping for before this tues as beth goes back to pre-school and I know the comments will start "you not had him yet", "your holding on to that baby arent you?" etc etc we have all had them but they really infuriate me esp the old classic " the last few weeks really drag dont they ?" well of course they do ffs cos people like you keep bloody reminding me !!

Thats why I have resolved to staying indoors until Ive had this baby it is for the safety of others not mine !! [grin}

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 15/04/2007 15:01

Hiya ladies.

Nutty, thanks for posting your birth story. Sounds like you had a right old bag of a mw!

Glad lo is feeding. I had problems with Becky and after a week went to formula and we never looked back. You just have to go with whatever suits.

Ooogs, as said already, hats off to you, and please do not ever beat yourself up about anything. As you know from experience, being a mum is bloody hard work, and to now have 2 little ones as well must be totally overwhelming.

Parents, dh, Becky and nephew have all gone out for a walk thank God. I was beginning to get a bit stressed by them all, as Becky and Tiff (aged 3) get on fine for a while and then all hell breaks loose! Have my mw, her dh and their 2 year old coming round as well soon, so we will see how they all get on!

Right, need to hang out washing, so will catch up with you all later on.

Lots of love

Tili · 15/04/2007 15:03

Nutty just looked at your pics of Erin ooh she is just adorable

maveta · 15/04/2007 15:54

Thanks Nutty for sharing your birth story - what an old cow you got, sorry about that but sounds like you did a fantastic job and Erin is gorgeous!

MIAMT good luck I´ll not let my mobile away from me so will post your news ASAP! Enjoy tonight with Phil x

Ooogs I can only second, third, whatever, what has already been said on here, you are already doing so so much, please try not to be hard on yourself and think what advice you would give someone else in your position, you are a star!!

hope you´re all having a good day and here´s to more baby news soon...

Katy44 · 15/04/2007 16:46

Hi everyone,
Nutty, I've just looked at the pics and Erin is so lovely. Can't believe your MW was such a b*tch though (sorry I don't normally swear but that's the only word). "That's what labour is" indeed! Yes, and surely part of that is coping with the pain (turning on your side instead of your back, or having pain relief )
MIAMT, good luck again for tomorrow, will be watching out for posts from maveta! (I like to know these things so I can ask "has she had it yet?" in a whiny voice!)
oooggs - I'm not going to go on about it but I agree with everyone else, you're doing a fantastic job as far as I can tell and should be proud of yourself!
claricebean thanks for letting us know about the name change - did you just decide you preferred Ruby as a first name?
Well, it's been a quiet weekend for babies. Obviously we'll have one tomorrow, but I wonder whether there'll be any more!
