Thanks, I'm probably not on the stats thread as I remmember meaning to post to it but not doing it. I'm due on the 24th, first baby, and according to my 20 week scan I'm expecting a boy.

Bah, typical..no one around? Ellie if you come on during your feeds drop me a line, I might be around still. It´s 4.30am here and I´ve been tossing and turning in bed for a couple of hours so finally decided to get up. Was woken by uncomfy contractions and period-y type pains but, of course, all tailed off now. aaaaaarrrrgh.

Well, going to check out t´internet a bit and then try and decide whether to watch a film or try to get back to sleep. I´d love to have a bath but then as our tank allows for 1 hot bath and then takes about 1.5 hours to heat up again I worry I´ll have one and then, sod´s law, contractions will come back with a vengeance and I´ll not be able to have a bath! Oh the dilemma.

I just ate some coco pops and have horrible indigestion now... ho hum...

Hope you are all sleeping like angels xx

Pesha · 17/04/2007 03:46

Hi maveta, you still here? Have been awake for last hour or 2, contractions have all bloody stopped now just got back ache and cant sleep. Im so annoyed, contractions all day then stop at 11 and nothing since except abit of an ache and the odd tightening but no real pain with it.

And i just broke my nail on the bloody laptop!!

Pesha · 17/04/2007 03:49

Having a contraction now!!

maveta · 17/04/2007 03:53

Hi Pesha.. yup still here but trying to decide whether to bother getting back to sleep or not...this whole practice contraction thing is a right PITA.

Pesha · 17/04/2007 03:59

It is isnt it?! I thought id got it sussed and was sure this was real thing, was just like first part of ds labour but now its all just a big pile of poo!!

maveta · 17/04/2007 04:06

The annoying thing is the ones that wake me up tend to be (or at least seem to be, although I am starting to think I just have distorted perception in the middle of the night, which wouldn´t be so surprising really..) quite strong and regular.. although I could be just passing out for long periods of time between them.. but then by the time I am fully awake and have been for a glass of water and 3 pees they seem to have passed.

I´m still having BHs but they aren´t sore..

Everytime this has happened I´ve woken up thinking " okay this time, this is it, I´m sure this has to be it" and of course it isn´t. Hence my foul mood the next day...Your due day was yesterday though, right? So maybe you are really gearing up.. you said this went on for a few days with your ds didn´t you?

Pesha · 17/04/2007 04:13

Had a couple of days of it with dd, with ds once it started that was it. But was just in the night before, and up till now this time has just been evenings.

What you're having sounds alot like what I had with dd although only happened 2 nights in a row then the next night was the real thing.

Cant imagine how octo coped for so long, no wonder she nearly had it in car this morning, spect she was waiting till very last minute to be sure it was really happening!

Pesha · 17/04/2007 04:15

Sorry yeah due date was yesterday, wass quite happy to wait, not bothered about going over until i thought things were really happening. Now I want it out!!

maveta · 17/04/2007 04:19

LOL. That´s it.. I said exactly that to dh.. I know I could have up to 3 weeks left and that would be fine if I could just focus on that date but then all this malarkey starts up and you get kind of worked up about things getting going.. it´s so exhausting. Oh moan moan.. I know what you mean about Octo, poor thing went through this for weeks beforehand..but look where she is now with her brand new bouncing baby

Pesha · 17/04/2007 04:23

Yeah guess we just have to focus on that and remember it'll all be worth it in the end. And in the meantime keep moaning about it on MN!!

maveta · 17/04/2007 04:25

Too right! Okay, it´s now 5.30am here.. think I might have a bath and see if that helps me get back to sleep. Hope you manage to get some rest (or have a baby, but one or the other!! )

Pesha · 17/04/2007 04:33

Ooo ill have a baby please if i can choose

Am going to go back to bed for abit though I think, if I dont have a baby it means Ill have kids back tomorrow so really need to try and sleep now. DP is just lying there sleeping soundly though so inconsiderate!!

Hope your bath helps

Morning everyone!
Hello Luci.
How is everyone this morning?

Emmymummy · 17/04/2007 07:48

Morning. Veeeerry quiet this morning. So did Pesha (and maybe Maveta) manage to produce anything last night?

Emmymummy · 17/04/2007 07:49

'Produce anything' sounds a bit horrid! I mean produce any babies of course....

liath · 17/04/2007 07:58

Good morning!

baby news

I hada little boy last night at just after 11pm. Had a 4 hour labour, the home birth went as planned with a pretty quick second stage (the 2nd midwife didn't make it in time so my mum had to step into the breach ).

He's 7lb4oz and we can't decide a name yet. Will post full details later - was sore at the end but I feel fine today, such a relief not to be pg any more !

Liath xx

Katy44 · 17/04/2007 08:01

CONGRATULATIONS LIATH

Katy44 · 17/04/2007 08:09

Morning SOSPL.
I have an exciting day planned, haircut, supermarket, and then the ironing as I didn't actually get round to doing it yesterday - I cleaned our bedroom instead. Hope no-one is jealous of my glamorous lifestyle!

2Happy · 17/04/2007 08:13

Liath - no fair!!!!
