Eeeek! Good luck with your scan tomorrow motherofboy let us know how it goes!

HerSymphonyAndSong · 03/11/2017 06:45

Weeks 10-12 were worst for me so far. I’m 13+2 today. Nausea seems to have eased just in last couple of days. I managed to cook two meals (admittedly not very complicated ones!) which is huge progress as apart from the smells I was struggling to stand for very long without feeling sick. Still have sore breasts and the stretchy cramps have got much stronger so clearly things are being shifted about in there!

HerSymphonyAndSong · 03/11/2017 06:45

Hope the scan goes well motherofboy!

Hope your scan goes well motherofboy.

I was getting anxious about mine with the uncertainty of when it would be and whether it would be in time for the screening. I don't actually know what I'd do if my risk was high but I know I'd rather know. So I've booked a private nuchal translucency scan which will be on Monday when I'll be 12+2. Has anyone else had a private one? Did you still go to the NHS one too or should I cancel it when it arrives? The other advantage is that I can take my DD so don't have to figure out getting someone to sit with her at possibly short notice.

I'm still feeling pretty sick in the evenings and the bloat is now almost painful. I think the stretching has started too.

Poppy012 · 03/11/2017 08:33

GOOD LUCK FOR the scan :)

SquashyMummy · 03/11/2017 13:09

Good luck to mother and others having a scan today. I had mine first thing today and was relieved to see a baby wriggling and hiccuping away. Starting to feel excited now Grin

Please could I join the Facebook group?

SaltK · 03/11/2017 14:25

Good luck for the scan mother, and any others going today!

Cautious, I would just have both scans! Double chance to see the baby 😊

Congratulations on your lovely healthy scan, squashy!

Cathster · 03/11/2017 16:43

Wow lots of messages to catch up on. Glad your scan went well squashy, hope yours did too mother!

cautious I had a private scan with my first, not this time, and I still went for the NHS one. Have you got a date for your NHS one yet, I can't believe you're still waiting!

salt so sorry to hear about your previous miscarriages, I hope your scan goes well on Sunday. Flowers

Hiraeth17 · 03/11/2017 18:10

Is anyone else having their dating scan really late? I'll be 14,1. I have read it should be 13,6 at the latest. I phoned and asked for an earlier appt, but the only one they have is on a day I definitely can't do. Fuck ☹️

MotherOfBoy · 03/11/2017 20:16

Lovely healthy baby dates pushed forward so now 12+6 new EDD 12th May.

Can I join fb group too please? Can someone invite me or send me a link? Thanks!

Lovely pic (sometimes it doesn’t show straight away, but is attached)

SquashyMummy · 03/11/2017 20:53

Congrats mother lovely scan photo Smile

cautiousoptimist1 · 03/11/2017 21:15

Lovely photo mother, looks like he/she is waving Grin.

Cathster, nope still no date! I was told 2 days ago that the referral hadn't even been done. I know we're lucky to be able to afford a private scan and it does seem a little extravagant but knowing I'll be seen next week (it's now Tuesday) has eased my anxiety.

ChefsFloozie · 03/11/2017 21:26

Gorgeous pic motherofboy

Doublechocolatetiffin · 03/11/2017 22:36

Lovely pic motherofboy congratulations! If you PM me your email address I can add you to the fb group. Anyone else who wants to join too then just PM me your email.

I’ve had my screening results back and whilst they are lower risk (which I am pleased about) I am slightly worried that they are nowhere near as low risk as my DD. It was 1 in 1,500 which I know is great odds, but my DD was 1 in 75,000. Is it worth doing the harmony test too? Realistically it’d just be to prepare ourselves as we’d want the baby either way.

Noredwine · 03/11/2017 23:01

Congrats Mother great scan pic!
Double - can I please join FB group? Stupid question but how do you PM on here? Or can I find group on FB? I am a bit rubbish with technology!!
In other news - anyone else suffering with itchy lady bits particularly of an evening?! I know it can be a symptom - sometimes drives me crazy at bedtime so if anyone else has and has good remedies for it please shout! Sorry if that is TMI!!

MilfordFound · 04/11/2017 05:46

How long does it take for screening results to come back after scan? I had 12 week scan almost 2 weeks ago and haven't heard anything. I can see from my notes that the nuchal fold measurement is within normal range so I'm not too concerned. But it's making me a bit twitchy that haven't had a letter confirming it!

HerSymphonyAndSong · 04/11/2017 06:13

They told me around two weeks so hopefully yours are due soon?

MotherOfBoy · 04/11/2017 06:34

mildord they said to me if normal letterbin 2 weeks if worrying they’d call sooner.

noredwine yes I do! No remedies tho...

HerSymphonyAndSong · 04/11/2017 06:41

Noredwine I have very itchy nipples instead! Apparently also a common symptom (because everything is a bloody symptom...). Very awkward at work

SquashyMummy · 04/11/2017 07:26

Thanks chocolate I have PMed you.,

Nored if you go on the webpage of Mumsnet, rather than the app, then click on the dots below a post and it gives you the option to PM.

SquashyMummy · 04/11/2017 07:28

Re screening results chocolate I think it depends how much you tend to worry and your budget. 1 in 1500 is still really low but if it's going to play on your mind, it might be worth paying.

SaltK · 04/11/2017 07:32

Awww mother lovely, lovely picture - so clear!

SaltK · 04/11/2017 07:40

chocolate, there's no substitute for peace of mind. Like squashy says, if you feel like you need to know it might be worth going for it. Even if you're going to have the baby either way, there's nothing worse than an unanswered question playing on your mind. Xx
