Ah so 2 weeks is normal that's good. With my daughter I had a letter saying low risk within a couple of days. If I've not heard anything in a week I'll call and ask. Thanks Smile

ChefsFloozie · 04/11/2017 09:20

Itchy bits too here. All the glamour!

Hope the results come through soon Milford

Doublechocolatetiffin · 04/11/2017 09:47

I’ve PM’d you Nored so hopefully you can just reply.

I’ll have a chat to my DH and see what he thinks - we can afford to do it so maybe I should just go for it.

Re itchy lady bits - could it be thrush? V common in pregnancy. Canisten is fine to use - that’s what your GP will prescribe usually.

Noredwine · 04/11/2017 09:55

Thanks Double - presumably I need to go on main website to see message rather than app!

As for itchy bits - not thrust - no discharge - apparently the extra blood flow means some of us lucky ladies get swollen lady bits and the itchy feeling as a result! Oh the joy!!

Noredwine · 04/11/2017 10:06

Thrush not thrust!! It's all the thrusting that got us into this trouble in the first place!!

willisurvive3under2 · 04/11/2017 10:33

Beautiful scan @MotherOfBoy!!

@Doublechocolatetiffin if money was no object I would get the Harmony. I did it before my dating scan both for my DS and this current pregnancy. The peace of mind is invaluable for me. As an aside, I told the NHS sonographer that I had had the Harmony and he decided not to do the NT measurements as the Harmony is a lot more accurate. I found it interesting, I wish they could just make the Harmony available to everyone.

Speaking of which, I had my dating scan and also the results of my Harmony have come through - I’m low risk for the trisomies and I’m having two girls!! I’m so happy, I really didn’t mind what I was having but it seems so much more real now! One twin is a bit smaller than they would like her to be so they’re keeping an eye on her, I should be hearing back from the consultant.

Little pic of my girls chilling together! Smile

That is such a lovely picture willisurvive

Whatamuddleduck · 04/11/2017 12:45

Argghh! Anyone else feeling really fat? Had a long moan to DP and then went and ate more cheese. I've put on a stone and feel really uncomfortable. I think I'll be fine with a lovely big bump, I just hate having a huge arse! I'm usually onthe go constantly and quite slim, I just don't know what to wear or how to keep the weight off. I haven't got the energy to move!
Oh well, if I need to be fat to have a baby, fat I will be. But I look terrible!

HerSymphonyAndSong · 04/11/2017 13:41

Well i have been very fat in the past, and very thin (eating disorders), so while I am not enjoying feeling so “thick” around the middle this Ian much easier to cope with

Goldie1234 · 04/11/2017 14:30

Oohh lovely scans ladies! ! What's the difference between harmony scans and NHS scans ? We've got lots of girls on the go in this group !

MotherOfBoy · 04/11/2017 16:05

whatamuddle I’ve only put on 2lbs so far but feel huge! Think it’s cos I look like I have a definite bump except it is all soft and flabby... 🙄 I’m a size 12ish not that that really helps give any impression..! I have been eating a lot of crap tho so not surprising. Haven’t really had cravings this time round but can always find space for crisps or olives.

For 13 weeks it is v obvious!!

HerSymphonyAndSong · 04/11/2017 16:13

I don’t have a bump (unsurprising as first pregnancy), but I can’t suck in stomach as I could before. I have put on weight due to eating away the nausea with toast, but it has mainly gone on thighs!

Whatamuddleduck · 04/11/2017 16:33

No wonder I feel huge. A stone is s lot to put on compared to 2lbs! I need to stop eating crap and do some excercise!

OP posts:
MilfordFound · 04/11/2017 18:41

Whatamuddleduck I've put on a stone too! I can't let my stomach get empty or the nausea and heartburn is too much to bear. So I'm constantly eating. I'm going to be the size of a house by the time I give birth. Last time I'd lost weight in the first trimester until I went on anti sickness tablets, this time I went straight on them so no weight loss, just a lot of weight gain.
Oh well, I'll worry about it afterwards. My daughter had cmpa so I gave up all dairy while feeding her. Lost weight through lack of cheese and chocolate. I'll try that again if I get desperate!

Whatamuddleduck · 04/11/2017 19:22

Milford I'm kind of glad it isn't just me! I'm hoping the weight slows down as nausea has passed now. Think I'm just a glutton and used to eating loads. I've replaced fruit and veg with carbs and cheese.

Amazing scan photos mother and willisurvive! Best of luck tomorrow salt

I've had the itchy bits! A bit earlier in the pregnancy though so seems to have gone away, hope yours does too. My sickness and nausea seems to have almost vanished, don't get me wrong I'm really pleased not to feel so grotty and I know this is probably normal for this stage but I can't help but worry. Still absolutely shattered though!

Aggy106 · 04/11/2017 21:36

Oops, spoke too soon with the reappearance of dinner. Hope you're all having a good Saturday evening.

Estrele · 04/11/2017 21:57

Catching up here .... some gorgeous scans coming through :)) cant wait for mine on Monday!!!
Crossing fingers for tomorrow salt ...and anyone else who had their scans !
cautious would it be worth ringing again on Monday ?

So glad I am not the only one who is growing!! Thought I have to say it is always bigger in the evening... either bloat or because of how much I eat I am guessing! But am at my mum's his weekend and she had saved some of her maternity clothes so I am saved for another week until I have time to go shopping 😅
I have to say I am in the dark too goldie ... can anyone explain what the harmony scans are- are they private or just additional or ...? Thank you xx

Elvi1 · 04/11/2017 22:09

Great scan pics :-)

I hate this stage of pregnancy - asides from the worry and uncertainty, like many of you I have piled on a few pounds and I'm feeling bloated. I wouldn't say that I have been eating any more than usual but I used to go to the gym 3-4 times a week and since 6 weeks I haven't been able to go because I've felt so ill. I'm feeling very flabby and everything I wear is uncomfortable. At the annoying stage where need to buy new clothes (just in general - not because I'm pregnant) but it's a waste of money buying 'normal' clothes because only going to get bigger, but don't have a bump to dress in maternity gear. I realise in the grand scheme of things it's not
Something to complain about but I'm sure you ladies understand.

Cathster · 04/11/2017 22:46

@Elvi I feel your pain. I'm also at that annoying stage where none of my old clothes fit, but my maternity clothes from last time round aren't suitable yet as I don't have much other than a massive bloat and I'd just look silly! I did fork out for a pair of black maternity jeans today which are SO comfortable and I can probably get away with wearing at work, but just need to find some suitable tops!

Lovely scan pictures willisurviveand motherofboy

willisurvive3under2 · 04/11/2017 23:49

The Harmony is a private test you can choose to do privately from 10 weeks. It’s also often the next port of call if you come back high risk from your 12-week tests as it gives clearer answers - that’s why some people choose to do it early to save themselves unnecessary anxiety. However it’s pricey and not a diagnostic test (although very very accurate for a screening test) - in other countries people would go straight for an amnio as it can be free and gives 100% answers, but that poses a small miscarriage risk. The Harmony is non invasive (it’s an early scan and a blood test) and has no risks associated with it.

The generic name for it is NIPT - different companies in the UK offer it under different names (Harmony, Panorama, Serenity). If you Google NIPT there is a lot online. Any questions please ask - I promise I don’t work for them but I have found the peace of mind invaluable for me.

cautiousoptimist1 · 05/11/2017 07:28

I'm another one feeling big but like Estrele it's bigger in the evening so still bloating I think. I have got my maternity clothes down from the loft but somehow can't bring myself to open the box! It feels very early to be wearing them as last time, I was wearing normal jeans until 6 months. I know everything stretches earlier/easier 2nd time but I thought I may at least get to the 2nd trimester.
I do have a problem with maternity jeans though. I bought 2 pairs last time - one under bump pair from next which I kept but were probably worn into the ground and one pair from Joules where you could zip the bump band on or off but they were so uncomfortable, I got rid of them before I'd even had DD I think. So can any of you ladies recommend a reasonably priced pair of maternity jeans where the knees can survive scurrying about with my toddler but that come in a longer length (33-34 inches)?

Elvi1 · 05/11/2017 10:30

Topshop do comfy maternity jeans and come in 34inch length. I got the skinny fit which I know isn't for everyone, but worth checking out if there is alternative fits. I want to get an additional pair this time around with a more casual fit.
