As the 2nd thread is full I've started this one. Hope everyone finds it!

I've got to book my whooping cough vaccine for after 16 weeks, think you need to have it repeated for each pregnancy.

Motherofpuppies · 30/10/2017 19:24

@ladypug Yes we were surprised at how clear it was too! I was expecting more of a blob haha. I was bang on 12 weeks according to the measurements they took. I drank so much water before the scan it was ridiculous, but I think it must have helped!

@Cathster yay same due date! Where in the UK are you? I'm in North Staffs.

Estrele · 30/10/2017 19:39

Aggy So so glad it went well!!! I am currently due on May 16th ....though I finally have my scan for next Monday so it may change again.

cathster yours sounds like a right monkey already ;)

cautious has your scan date come through yet ? - I ended up ringing the scan appointments, and I think wires had been crossed somewhere but they gave me an appointment straight up for next monday :)

cautiousoptimist1 · 30/10/2017 20:45

Estrele, nope I'm still waiting for the scan date. I also don't have any notes yet so should get those on Thursday.

scoutcat · 30/10/2017 21:46

@Motherofpuppies where in North Staffs? I’m Stoke-on-Trent!

Noredwine · 30/10/2017 22:17

Hurrah Aggy, Mother and Cathster for lovely scan news!
And welcome handbag!
I was at good friend's 40th bash on sat night and saw all my girly friends who I had told by whatsapp the week before that I was pregnant but not seen at the time - felt like party was for me for first 30 mins with everyone congratulating me and hubbie!! Was lovely but a bit weird too as still think sometimes I am not pregnant at all as symptoms quite mild (bar the constipation which now seems a bit more under control thanks to Dulcoease!). Starting to tell a few people at work now in my team which feels really odd as I have worked my socks off at my firm for 17 years solid and the idea of disappearing for the best part of a year feels like I am not taking the job seriously! Or that others will think that. Less than 6 months to plan all that out! More worried about that than the birth or looking after a new born for the first time!! Is that weird?

Cathster · 30/10/2017 22:45

@nored considering you've been there 17 years I'd say that's the opposite of not taking the job seriously! However I know what you mean. I love maternity leave but at the same time I do find it difficult being away from work - probably seems weird to lots of people but I love my job (most of the time) and I hate the thought of coming back to everything being different! How exciting that you're starting to announce it now, it is a bit strange at this point when the first trimester symptoms vanish and there's a good few weeks until we start to feel movements!

@motherofpuppies I'm in Cornwall, so usually quite far away from most others Grin

HerSymphonyAndSong · 30/10/2017 23:34

Most of my local good friends are at work, so I am a bit worried about missing seeing them as much (I know this is daft!)

LadyPug · 31/10/2017 07:42

Hey Cathster I’m in Cornwall too!

FlooOOOooomplet · 31/10/2017 08:22

Here’s our little person. Not a great pic due to my BMI but it’s waving with its left hand and has a leg in the air!

LadyPug · 31/10/2017 08:36

Ah yay!!!! Congrats floo how exciting all of the scan pictures!

Motherofpuppies · 31/10/2017 09:08

Aww yay lovely scan @FloooOOOOooomplet!

@scoutcat we're so close! I'm in Biddulph so not far at all. Moved up here from London last year. Great to have another mum-to-be so close by!

cautiousoptimist1 · 31/10/2017 09:19

Motherofpuppies, I'm originally from North Staffs but live in Oxfordshire now. I'm genuinely interested in how you found a move from a London to Biddulph?! Is it a bit of a culture shock?!

Motherofpuppies · 31/10/2017 10:51

@cautiousoptimist1 yeah North Staffs is great but Biddulph itself is a bit of a time warp! Have struggled to meet anyone under the age of 65 haha. We wanted to be near the Peak District for walking, and my husband had to be able to fly out of an airport every week for work, so it's quite well positioned for all that. We've been doing up an old house here for the last year.

cautiousoptimist1 · 31/10/2017 11:29

Motherofpuppies, I bet you'll find that changes once you have a little one, you'll find church hall groups and baby sensory etc I'm sure. It's a great location for proximity to the Peak District and if you're NT members then Biddulph Grange is great for walking (and cake and coffee) too.
I miss my family and friends there but otherwise miss the oatcakes and the ability to get gravy in a chip shop!

Sorry for derailing the thread folks!

Needmorehands · 31/10/2017 20:04

Oh help! a weekend away with lousy mobile signal and its going to take me ages to read back and catch up with you all!

Kirstipops · 01/11/2017 02:04

Awww hiya baby Floo! I can make out the pose, like s/he's excitedly riding a rollercoaster Grin
Interesting to read where everyone is from, Central Scotland here, between Glasgow and Stirling.
I ordered a new dress from ASOS which arrived today, I am only 11+4 but look unmistakably pregnant in it already, eeep. Everything does seem to pop out sooner second time around!

Cathster · 01/11/2017 06:31

@need welcome back!

@LadyPug Yay, somewhere near me (well, potentially Grin) how far into Cornwall are you? I'm right on the border to Devon.

@kirsti oh yes, I've found I've been looking pregnant in most my clothes for several weeks now! Mad really as I was barely showing at 20 weeks last time!

Aggy106 · 01/11/2017 06:55

Congrats on your scan floo!

Does anyone have any tip on the best maternity jeans? Mine are already feeling a little tight so I'll need some soon. I'm really not a fan of skinny jeans as they just don't suit me so if anyone can recommend bootcut styles that would be great.

I also ordered my baby on board badge yesterday for the trains! Has anyone else got theirs yet?

Aggy106 · 01/11/2017 07:36

estrele we're due date buddies! For the rest of this week at least!

Hope your scan went well symphony

LadyPug · 01/11/2017 08:00

Hey cathster I’m down down down deep into Cornwall (never getting out territory!!) hahaha you’re about 1.5 hours away!

MotherOfBoy · 01/11/2017 08:52

aggy I have my badge, got it a while ago as sometimes have to travel to London short notice though not used it yet! Will be in London a lot in December so will be well used then!

willisurvive3under2 · 01/11/2017 09:11

@Cathster and @LadyPug, I’m in Devon!

@Aggy106 Last time I loved H&M over the bump jeans - they’re soft and comfy and just seem to suit my shape. They have different types, you can order a load online and then return in-store. I’ve found their Mama Range very good, the soft nursing bras are amazing and I still live in them (they’re not hugely supportive though, probably wouldn’t work for anything over a C cup).

I find that I look more pregnant in mat clothes so I’m holding off for now - living in leggings and slouchy jumpers. Dating scan is tomorrow and if both twins are well we will start telling people and then I can start relaxing my tummy Grin

Aggy106 · 01/11/2017 11:12

Mother I'm looking forward to using my badge too, there are days when I could really do with a seat. I'll have to tell work though first which I'm slightly dreading as I've only been in the job 3 months.

Thanks for the H&M recommendation willisurvive (clocked the name change too!). I'd heard other people say H&M were good. Good luck with your dating scan, hope all's ok with both babies so you can start sharing the news!

SaltK · 01/11/2017 11:38

Hi all, was hoping I could join you lovely ladies for a bit of company and reassurance. I'm 10 weeks today after 5 miscarriages and no children yet. All but one of my losses have been MMC, so scans are a nightmare. There was a heartbeat at 9 weeks, got another scan on Sunday and absolutely terrified!! I read some of you have had previous losses/fertility problems, so any tips on how not to go completely crazy would be appreciated!! Good luck to you all, was lovely to read through the thread and see so many positive scan stories and all the twins!!
