charnbump date budddy!!!!!!!!!!!!! how are you??

zazas · 11/04/2007 09:22

Congratulations runnyhabbit - due date buddy! Look forward to hearing the details.

Went to midwife yesterday - she asked me if I had any idea when I thought I might go into labour???!!!! Before Christmas I replied! Apart from the twinges and pains I have no indications that labour is around the corner - my nesting instinct kicked in 2 weeks ago and has not returned so can't even use that as an indicator!

Oh well another day of waddling and fending off questions from family and friends.

maveta · 11/04/2007 09:24

Yay Runnyhabbit!! Congrats!!! can´t wait to hear more xxxx

Also been wondering how Smole is getting on with baby Jesse, thinking of you all xx

To everyone that is having a grumpy morning/ time in general.. of course you should never worry about moaning on here, that´s what we´re here for! I don´t think there´s a single person on here that could honestly say they´ve not just needed a moan now and then. And WE all really know how you´re feeling!! MIAMT - I have had a few days like that lately and it is horrible.. hope you get to rest and recharge your batteries soon.

I´m 38 weeks today so STILL feels like ages to go compared to most of you but have decided to try and forget about the baby even coming within the next couple of weeks and plan lots of other things to keep me busy so I´m not just sitting counting the days. Today (drum roll please) I´m CLEANING THE KITCHEN!!! It´s all just too exciting for words. I can´t really say I´ve had any nesting feelings though, any cleaning I´ve done has been out of necessity/ boredom rather than an ´urge´.. I actually think DH has more nesting going on right now than me.. keeps going on about needing to clean this and sort that and organise this. I tell him to go for it!

Ellie - did I read right a while ago that you were getting into (not literally of course, i hope) real nappies after seeing the swaddlebees´?? Or was it just a brief flirtation distracting you from the main love affair of your life (pushchairs.. of course)??

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 11/04/2007 09:24

Mr Runnyhabbit, huge congratulations to you all!!!!!! Fab news.

We look forward to the intricate details!!!

Sooooo exciting!!

weeonion · 11/04/2007 09:26

maveta - i have had a panic that i dont actually have enough nappies and went on a bidding splurge yesterday.. does that counton nesting?? am going to sit this morning and od a tally of what all i have - bet the wraps actually outnumber the nappies at this stage!

charNbump · 11/04/2007 09:28

WEEONION - hello!!!!! i'm good thanks,.......really wish baby would come out now have been jumping around like a mad woman this morning trying to get things moving along! ha! How's u? any sign of little 1 ? i keep have little niggles, get excited....then they stop! typical! xxxx

weeonion · 11/04/2007 09:30

char - no signs here - too comfy. still get panicked when i cant feel her move!

just checked yesterdays thread - seem sthat runnyhabbit's tens was due to be delivered today ay 1pm - guess she never got to use it but hey - it must have brought labour on........

maveta · 11/04/2007 09:32

Wo - LOL - yes I think that definitely counts as nesting! I am so so SO banned from buying anymore until the baby is here. How many have you got??

whywhywhy · 11/04/2007 09:39

hi ladies
have been silent due to going histrionic & weepy on dh last night, over having gone late and being too massive to move and stuck in limbo etc (very helpful for everyone of course)- cheered up today by nice day & ds1 is being looked after so I have some peace!

MW gave me a sweep yesterday after looking at the size of me and saying 'yes this one is definitely ready to come out!' felt nothing at all yesterday but some definite contraction type pains today, but not exactly regular- some within 3 minutes, some within 7. So I'll keep you posted

Octo how are your contractions? anyone else contracting???

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 11/04/2007 09:59

I hope Runny gets her money back on the TENS! Quite amusing that she should order it and then go and give birth before it arrives!

I ordered one on Saturday, and am hoping it will come BEFORE I give birth - saying that I have a while to go yet.

Whywhywhy, sorry to hear you are feeling blue. It is quite pyschology distressing isn't it this hanging about - I found that when I went overdue with my dd. Really hope the sweep has proven to be the kick-start, and that your lo makes an appearance VERY soon!!

Off to soft play now so back to catch up with any further arrivals later on!

nuttygirl · 11/04/2007 10:05

Congratulations to Runnyhabbit (& MrRunnyhabbit )!!! Can't wait to hear the details.

maybe I should order a Tens machine....

There is NO sign whatsoever of this one popping out, in fact I feel more comfy today than I have for a while...am hoping she hasn't un-engaged herself!!! Think I may be copying you Eddas . Hopefully sweep tomorrow will encourage things along.

Sorry to all those that are having PMT type problems...moan away (I do often enough!!!)

In case I forget to say it later on, good luck Eddas for your induction tomorrow.

Sorry but everything else I have completely forgotten.

EllieKthePA · 11/04/2007 10:10

hey all

Congrats to runnyhabbit, i was hoping the 'order the tens' trick wouuld work with my bump but it's being delivered today and no baby yet!

bugger

OP posts:
whywhywhy · 11/04/2007 10:12

congrats runnyhabbit! I hope to join you soon!

now contracting every 4/5 minutes but they are not very long. I do hope this is it at last!

EllieKthePA · 11/04/2007 10:12

maveta
i used real nappies for a while with matthew but they didn't fit him very well, however that was just one make so i am thinking about it. i got on ok with the washing etc so that doesn't worry me, think i'll wait til baby is here and then try different kinds. the lady that has volunteered to doula for me is also a 'nappy lady' so i'll be able to get excellent advice!

they are just too cute tho, keep going to order one then telling myself to behave

OP posts:
EllieKthePA · 11/04/2007 10:13

hoping for you why, tho as my due date buddy it is very inconsiderate of you to start without me

OP posts:
whywhywhy · 11/04/2007 10:15

Ellie who knows, this could be an octo day for me!

(just had short contraction after 3 mins, so they are getting closer together....)

any news from her btw?

EllieKthePA · 11/04/2007 10:20

no, she was on last night and it didn't seem to be happening

OP posts:
Birdiebump · 11/04/2007 10:35

CONGRATS TO THE RUNNYHABITS!!!

No news from me. No sign of labour starting spontaneously so it's beginning to look increasingly like induction . Have a consultant appt tomorrow (due date) am and may ask for them to just get on with it or may try to hang on till Friday 13th - what wonderful choices. Feeling v down about whole thing tbh.

So lots and lots of labour vibes please from all of you!!!!!!

So it looks as though Eddas may well come in front of me after all. And hopefully Octo, Whywhywhy and maybe even Ellie!!

nuttygirl · 11/04/2007 10:46

got a funny pain in my back...like back ache but as if the muscles are in spasm...not too painful just feels strange. Is this normal?

Pesha · 11/04/2007 10:55

Congratulations Runnyhabits

My turn to moan now! Feeling crap today, tired and sicky and no energy at all but really cant spend another day doing nothing. There is so much to do! Physio rang yesterday and left a message for me to ring back and make an appointment! Leaving it a little bit late I think as Im due monday but SPD is getting increasingly worse still so gonna ring back and see what they've got. i spect they'll be able to fit me in in about 3 weeks time!
And my mum is a teacher at private school so has had 3 weeks of holiday this easter, this is her last week. We went over to her sat afternoon and she cooked nice meal and things but thats all we've seen of her and she's not offered to take kids for me and give me a break or anything. On sat she mentioned about meeting up this afternoon as she is looking after my sister's dd today but hasnt mentioned it since. Oh well, she'll be having them when I have the baby so should just be grateful for that I guess. Think it'll be only the third time ever she's had both of them!
Must stop bitching and go do something useful instead!

Eddas · 11/04/2007 11:04

Not sure nutty, so am very helpful, don't copy me do you really want to be the butt of all the thread titles

Thanks for all the good luck messages, still hoping to go into labour naturally before 6.30am tomorrow, so no pressure baby mind you think i'm more likely to spontaneously combust than actually go into labour without being induced!!

Congratulations to runny, can't be arsed to be anymore!!!!

whywhywhy glad you got to have a sweep unlike my non-event on monday really hope it's worked for you

birdie for you, looks like we'll be induced together have to day i was thinking of refusing it this time but when mw said thursday i just thought f* it lets get it over with. I cannot be doing the pg thing for much longer without murder, and i don't want to go to prison

Sorry to all those i've missed off. EAH will be here in a bit so should get off the computer!!!

Pesha · 11/04/2007 11:04

Dont know about your back pain nutty, sorry.

Im sure ive said this before but thought its worth saying again that last time with ds my contractions were NEVER regular. Started around 6am ish and gradually got more frequent and stronger and more painful but werent regular at all. Id sit down and they'd die off abit then move and have 2 or 3 in the space of a few mins then go 10 or 20 mins without any. I just thought it was a pre labour sort of thing so was trying to ignore it all but was on the phone to my friend (who has 4 children) and had 3 very strong contractions that I couldnt talk through so she said she thought i should ring MW who said I should go in. Got in to hospital about 10 or half past and he was born at 11.55pm. So I wouldnt put too much reliance on them being regular!

muminamassivetummy · 11/04/2007 11:09

Morning!

Congratulations Runnyhabbit, Mr Runnyhabbit and William!!! Fantastic News... cheered me up considerably.

Thanks girls for all kind words yesterday and this morning. Determined to try and feel more posative today but slightly tricky as I just can't get off the loo (sorry for TMI) - have got the worst upset tum - been like it for a few days now...also got heartburn when I've not eaten...which is a first for me!

Going to rest up this afternoon and tonight as my Mum is having James to give me a bit of a break, really have not been coping very well but god love him...this morning he climbed up onto my knee after his breakfast and just gave me a cuddle and out of the blue just said "Your beautiful Mummy". ...so of course I bawled my bloody eyes out. Made everything seem so worthwhile!

Wonder who will be next....oh got some good news yesterday that my neighbours scan of her baby was fine and baby has put on a pound in 2 weeks so we are both in together on Monday for our sections - which I am realy chuffed about.

Will pop on later when have taken the boy to nursery
xx

muminamassivetummy · 11/04/2007 11:11

Pesha - what a shame that you've not had more support from your Mum. I can honestly say that I just don't know what I would do without mine sometimes. I feel so lucky that my parents are nearby and help out as much as they can.
