Bugmum · 08/04/2007 19:49

Yep, that's the tricky part!

EllieKthePA · 08/04/2007 19:50

i'm looking at a pushchair on ebay again

Bugmum · 08/04/2007 19:51

Right, am off to cook dinner now. If I still have the urge to buy something afterwards, it would be plain unnatural to deny and repress that, wouldn't it? DP is a psychotherapist, so he ought to understand...

Bugmum · 08/04/2007 19:52

Another pushchair??? Still, I'm in the pushchairs are ALL fab brigade, and I so get why you would

Right. Food. Not so hungry the past couple of days

EllieKthePA · 08/04/2007 19:55

graco mosaic

Evening all. Congratulations on the arrival of Jesse Smole, hope all is going OK.

CD - had to laugh at your comment about your mum having no sandwiches in her picnic - what a description!

Have been at the PILs for most of the day which meant we got fed and I got to sit on my fat arse all day....good, we like it. Have just looked at some photos of me that DH took - now I hate pics of me at the best of times, but, oh boy are these baaaaad! Not only an I scowling at the camera, but I also have several chins and I literally look like I have a beach-ball tucked up my t-shirt. DH says that I must have some photos of me pregnant if this is the last time I'm gonna do it. Why? So he can use them to blackmail me in later life or something???

EllieKthePA · 08/04/2007 20:03

aww Emmymummy, you'll be glad of them one day, tho perhaps only to remind you why never to get pg again

i wish i had photos from when i was pg with matthew

Evening all. Hope you are getting the opportunity to enjoy some of this lovely weather. Been quite busy with DH and DS - Battersea Zoo and then a friends house for Easter tea on Friday, DH took DS swimming yesterday morning and then we spent the afternoon on the Common and today we have been to Shoreham (Sussex, near Brighton) where the ILs have a beach hut. Busi-ness not encouraged the arrival of the baby... yet...

Congratulations to the new arrivals. I LOVE the name Jesse for a boy and it would be top of my list if it wasn't my brother's name !!

CD - sorry to hear of your PIL worries. I don't really have any suggestions as I have the opposite problem. But I would take heart from the fact that whilst not making you feel very secure I'm sure they love the girls and won't do anything to cause any harm to them even inadvertently. My MIL in particular dotes so much on DS its almost sick making. And she totally spoils him with chocolate, sweets, presents etc... She's very keen for a girl this time and has been buying girl stuff in advance. Tempting fate far too much. Will PMSL if its a boy! Still DS is quite happy to spend time with them and adores his grandad so I'm happy to leave him with them when labour happens etc.

off to raid fridge/freezer for some chocolate/ice cream etc... ood luck to all those getting the starts of pains and labour vibes to those who want them!!

IsabellyMoi · 08/04/2007 20:08

Congrats Smole on the arrival of your little Jesse!! Looking forward to the details/pics when you get a chance. Hope you are doing well.

Welcome Whywhywhy. Great to have you join us

Bumble - loved your idea of the t-shirt and the whole story of your encounter at tescos...read that out to DH, too, who thought it was funny.

I'm 3 days from my due date - having a few little niggles but nothing to get toooo excited about. Am trying to be mentally prepared to be waaaay overdue. Question for the veterans: did your previous labours ever start with pain in the groin/at the top of the legs?

SOSPL - a show! That sounds promising! Keep us posted.

CD - hope the tea at the PIL goes alright. Sounds like all interactions with them generate a lot of stress Sorry it is so hard and hope you get something sorted with the childcare arrangements.

Lesley - big hugs to you. Glad to hear that DH and RL people are being so supportive. Take care of yourself.

Happy Easter everyone!!

Emmymummy · 08/04/2007 20:10

LOL Ellie - yes they'll be very good to show me how much weight I've lost when I'm all svelte again. In my dreams!

Emmymummy · 08/04/2007 20:13

Isabelly - I have heard that some people do actually get labour pains in their thighs/tops of legs, so maybe it is the start of something? I think the pain in the groin is the baby's head bouncing on the cervix. Really ouch pain.

EllieKthePA · 08/04/2007 20:13

Isabelly, if the groin pain is a sign of labour then i think there's about 10 of us imminent

Hi everyone

PMSL at pregnant Barbie

Congratulations to Smole

Hi whywhywhy - be prepared, we can talk a lot

Lunch at my parents was fab - thoroughly stuffed ourselves though and haven't been able to move for most of the afternoon

On our way over to dh gp (its their 60th wedding anniversary!) yesterday, and this girl (about 16) stared at me in the newsagents, then asked me if I was pregnant-fgs! Rather pleased with myself because I replied "No, I've got a cushion up my top" dead serious So chuffed that I was able to think that quickly (although she did look embarrassed once I'd replied)

I'm feeling loads more twinges too - but nothings happening. Still, I'm not over for another 2 days.

Have a nice night
xx

runnyhabbit · 08/04/2007 20:22

Emmymummy - dh took some photos of me today too. It really does look like I have beach ball up my top. Quite comical if it wasn't me carrying this beach ball around Might try and post them later, depends if I've got enough energy

Emmymummy · 08/04/2007 20:25

Runny - there's no way I'm posting my pics. Waaay to horrid. Dh finds it bizarre that I don't want to be reminded about how I look. Loved your comment to the girl in the shop - serves her right for being so nosey!

EllieKthePA · 08/04/2007 20:26

oh go on EM, cheer us up

Have I missed another birth? Am I being a bit dim, I can't find Smole's announcement on the thread?

Hope you're all well, I am probably going to be induced on Tuesday night, Runningal from our thread seems to be in labour, and Kitty has mysteriously disappeared after her sweep today so she may also be in labour, not sure...

LunarSea (who was also overdue) had her baby the other day, she had a bit of a surprise birth actually, woke up with back pain and had her baby just over an hour later!!

Emmymummy · 08/04/2007 20:29

What have you bought now (apart from chicken wire)?

Emmymummy · 08/04/2007 20:31

Mossie - are you the last one left then?

EllieKthePA · 08/04/2007 20:33

nothing.........yet

am looking at this tho

Hey all,

Really quick post i'm just home. Had a text from Smole last

"baby boy jesse john 6lbs 5oz 9.20pm. Beautiful but he needs to be tested for downs which they think he has"

there you go Mossie

OP posts:
Mossie · 08/04/2007 20:34

Possibly! Runningal looks like she is well underway, and Kitty's disappeared, although to be fair she could just as easily be doing Easter stuff with her kids. (How dare people have a life outside Mumsnet!!! )

Emmymummy · 08/04/2007 20:34

But do you actually need it Ellie?
