Morning Dippy was just going to text you!

nuttygirl · 08/04/2007 09:29

Sorry CD, completely forgot to say to your MIL.

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 08/04/2007 09:40

CD, apologies if I came across a bit harsh about your mil, but the last thing you want is to be worrying about is whether she is coping or not whilst you are in labour etc. I am not saying you will need to forget about your dd's, but you can do without worrying whether mil is coping or not with them, and whether her leg, thumb etc hurt.

Happy Easter everyone
Just posting to say that nothing is happening in the Doghouse ... not even a twinge. Almost getting to the point where I wonder if it is EVER going to happen!!

At least the sun is shining and can sit in the garden and read.

Hope the sun is shining where you all are.

Lesley - sorry to hear about your friend.
Hope everyone else is OK.
xx

Happy Easter Everyone

Lesley - So, so sorry to hear of your friend We're here for you x

CD - Tbh, if I were you, I'd get someone else as a back up. But, if your pil are anything like mine, you probably wouldn't hear the end of it, and they would be quite put out that they aren't needed, iyswim. Its a really tough call, but maybe your dh needs to actually ask them outright can they do it, or do you need to make other arrangements.

Btw, I was having loads of wind type pains yesterday, and felt like I was constipated (but not iykwim) Maybe we were in sympathy for each other I am having so many twinges, aches and pains that I have stopped thinking about them. Although a couple of times the pain actually woke me up in the night.

Ellie - thank you so much for sending the emails x

Pinions & Yvie - you have gorgeous babies with beautiful names. So of you. I just want to meet mine!

Well dh has been absolute star this weekend (so far ) Not only has he made the drive safe for ds to play on, he's hoovered everywhere taken full control of ds, so I can do what I want, and is now painting our new gate, with ds playing outside, so I can catch up on MN in peace

Going to enjoy the sunshine, and then going to my parents for lunch mmmmmmm

Have a lovely day
xxx

Morning - Happy Easter.

CD, just wanted to add, what a couple of PITAs your PILs sound. Can't believe they are so selfish as to not want to help you out, even for the afternoon. Can't they all go out in the garden and get your DDs helping to fill some pots with compost and planting a few little seed or something, then they get to be out in the garden and the DDs get entertained? Oh, sorry, your MIL's thumb hurts, that might be asking a bit much . I hope you get something figured out honey. I know my own P's find looking after Em hard work, but when I really need them they are (generally) there, and there is no way in the world I would ever describe mine as selfish, they just get a bit nervous when the responsibility falls to them IYKWIM.

I've also been feeling like you in the loads of twinges & heaviness & going to the loo & sicky etc. etc. Thought yesterday that something might kick off too, but has calmed down again today. Bugger!

Hope everyone manages to have a nice day. Beautiful here and supposed to be hot. Have absolutely nothing to wear (apart from winter clothes or things that are only suitable for my own back garden), and we are going over to the PILs for lunch. And my skinny SIL will be there. Gah!

maveta · 08/04/2007 10:34

Lesley, I am so so sorry to hear about your friend. My thoughts are with you xxx

CD - sympathise completely with the feeling blue.. lately I have felt much more hormonal than at any other point in this pregnancy. I just really feel like I´ve had enough now. Seem to have a tearful moment at least once a day which is a very definite change for me. Ho hum. Everyone keeps going on about how the most it can be is another 4 weeks but that just sounds so long right now...

Also CD- is there any alternative to the PILs looking after your girls? If not I guess you´ll just have to try and ignore their complaints. It sounds like they are just feeling selfish and don´t want the responsibility BUT at the end of the day will be perfectly capable when they have to. It´s not ideal but at least your girls will be looked after. I guess really there´s no way you can make them take more of an interest. Hope you sort it out anyway, I know it must be extremely frustrating.

And ´what to do when the shops aren´t open´ LOL. This is one thing I miss so much from the UK - the shops are nearly ALWAYS open. Over here they shut at 2pm on saturday and don´t open again til Monday. I used to find it so hard thinking of things to do that didn´t involve shopping but now really appreciate the enforced break from all things commercial.

Today we´ve prepped the baby´s room for painting, are off shortly to the ILs for lunch and a walk in the country and suppose this afternoon we´ll try and get cracking on painting the room. Shouldn´t take too long with two of us at it.

runnyhabbit · 08/04/2007 10:38

anyone else listening to Radio 1?

Am reliving my clubbing days and dancing around my bedroom in my pjs

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 08/04/2007 11:03

Runny, I am an old bird and listen to Radio 2!!

Hello Maveta, I bet it is gorgeous in Majorca isn't it? It is pretty lovely here. B is dressed in a new sumer skirt and top I bought her and she looks beautiful - I cried!!! Apart from she has teamed it with socks that she has pulled up to her knees and her trainers! Hilarious!!

Off to my parents for lunch too, and I am so looking forward to it. I love my mums' cooking.

Have a great day all and see you later. xx

oooggs · 08/04/2007 11:27

Just read you message here as well 1b3 they are taking 60 min each which is why I am struggling and it is not fair on ds1.

Have decided to breast one and bottle the other alternately and is is working so far

1becomes3 · 08/04/2007 11:31

Happy Easter everyone
I'm so of all you still pg you get to eat loads of chocolate and not having to feel guilty about it, now I've had the dt's have to start watching what I bloody eat

We are off out on our first official day out, going to the farm so DD can poke and pat all the baby animals then round to my mums for lunch.
We are using DD old huge M&P 3 wheeler pram for the DT's as we still don't have a double one, luck they both fit in this tank of a pram.

Hope you are all having a lovely sunny day aswell.

weeonion · 08/04/2007 11:32

runny - i also was dancing round to radio 1 - as much to get lazy dp up as anything! i have been caught dancing rund a few times of late to old music and got my "cream" complitaions out recently....

CD - re yr PILs i know i posted the other night to you in a "lets see what we can do to help you help us kinda way" but i now think they have stated their case. they are not keen to help out. bloody awful, selfish and a bit ridiculous if you asj me but if her sore thumb, thigh, hip, ankle, front teeth is too much (!!!!!!!!!!!!!) then like SOPL i would suggest seeing if there is someone else. you seem very well connected with both the local church and the NCT - is there anyone through that?? it is a real shame as loads of grandas/ grans dont get the chance to help out and would love it.

my PILs - an alcoholic who actually forgets she is goign to be a gran again and my FIL who has said that he is too busy to enquire after the bump as he has 2 dogs to consider. somehow i dont think there will be offers of help there either. my own folks are in irealnd and woudl just love to be closer to have the chance to help out. families????????????

ellie - get anything nice??

1becomes3 · 08/04/2007 11:36

Xposted there oooggs.
Feeding one by bottle is alot quicker than by breast so your feeds should take less than a hour, I do the bottle one first then the one on the breast.
Glad you have everything sorted.

hensden · 08/04/2007 12:21

Morning all,

I'm due today, but I doubt it, ache all over but that's about it, could do with a few more days to get the house sorted anyway.

Got up early so DS and I ventured to our local bootfair, got DD a pregnant Barbie whose belly lifts off to reveil a little baby and a nice flat belly underneath (I want mine like that, please) bought loads of other stuff, and DS had to rescue me from the floor a couple of times came home and did the easter egg hunting thing in the garden DD really believes backed up by the big fat bunny that was sitting watching us hunt (he didn't leave any eggs behind when he left just some "raisins")

Lesley - sorry to hear about your friend, a sad time but at least her pain is over

CD - I agree S*D them, they really arn't that old and just sound selfish, they are lucky to be asked.

Back later to check up on any movements
Take care all

CaptainDippy · 08/04/2007 12:46

Hensden - PMSL @ "Pregnant Barbie" - please, please, please post a pic if poss - this I have to see! "Lucky to asked" ..... yeah right .... Thank you for that! Made me !!!!

Thank you soooo much to everyone for all you comments! SOSPL - Didn't think you were being harsh at all - they are complete PITA's and driving me insane - Grrr! Grrr! Grrr!

Thank you maveta - yes, they are perfectly capable - they are just selfish .... Rah!

Emmy - Your ranty post made me most - abso"bloody"lutely - Sounds like you had a similar day to me yesterday PG-wise - The race is on - bet I beat ya'!!!

LOL @ "sympathy" wind runny!

weeonion - You PIL sound similar to my parents!!!! If you thought my PIL were bad - you should meet my parents!! Mum was an alcoholic (grew up in foster care from age 10) and has absolutely no sandwiches in her picnic whatsoever - completely nuts - wouldn't let her anywhere near my children, even for a second. My dad is addicted to gambling, but is "an ok sort of guy". Ish. He's quite sweet with the girls - when he acually bothers to come and see them. They've been divroced since I was 3 and have only seen the DD's a handful of times between them since they were born. Tis v.; but is in a lot of ways harder with DH's PIL cos they live just down the road and aren't bonkers and have got time to spend with the DD's. At least I know where I stand with my parents and don't expect anything from them, iykwim!!?

Unfair!

Rah!

Yes, I do have good support from church / NCT; but peeps from NCT have LO's of their own to deal with (as do practically all my friends, the ones that don't would be too terrified to take DD's, iykwim!!?) People from church don't seem v.willing either - and a lot of them work f/t to be fair.

It is difficult - I know that when it comes to the crunch, PIL are just going to have to cope; but their attiude makes it sooooo hard.

Arse.

Arse.

Arse.

How is everyone else???

Birdiebump · 08/04/2007 12:53

Pregnant Barbie!!!!! This I have to see....

CD - we are having to ask friends with kids as both sets of parents (neither that much good in any case tbh...) are in Ireland and they (the friends with kids) have been absolutely amazing saying phone us any time day or night etc. Also lucky of course in that I have DS1 so if I have to go in the middle of the night we can just wake him (age 14) and sort out proper care for DS2 in the morning ! Not that there is much prospect of anything soon. Like a lot of us on here I thought something was happening yesterday but nooooo!

Has everyone forgotten MMK??? She was due to have a c-section on 5th April I thought. Does she have a buddy? I know they didn't have their computer working or something but it would be nice if we could get in touch with her???

CaptainDippy · 08/04/2007 12:55

Your friends sound fab, Birdie! Will either set of parents come to visit after bubs is born??

Haven't forgotten MMK - have no idea if she has a buddy or not - Think Elie has emailed her, but no response ..... not sure - Hope all is ok with her and her LO....

Off to have dinner ......

nuttygirl · 08/04/2007 14:22

Well I took some inspiration from you lot and went to a farm today (at a country house type place). Was fun but DH laughed at me cos I was too scaredy to feed the sheep . Was nice to see all the kids there and now can't wait til this LO gets big enough to enjoy that sort of thing! Had lunch at the cafe and then got ice creams! Might sit out in the garden later if the wind dies down a bit.

octo · 08/04/2007 14:45

No news here - contractions stopped at 3.30am ish - were pretty painful and thought maybe could be it - took me ages to get back to sleep - woken at 7.00 by boys - have been in bed all morning but still can't sleep - completely knackered and very grumpy!!

Am going to cut all the boys hair and then go to my relaxation class, have bath and early night

CaptainDippy · 08/04/2007 14:51

Oh Octo - This is proving to be v.long and drawn out for you hon ... Feeling grumpy on your behalf ....

Just woken up from a sleep, feeling vaguely human and ready to go over to the evil PIL's once we've got bits together .... they've invited us "for tea"!!!! Really not wanting to go, but feeling duty-bound .....

Grrrr!

"See" you all later ....

CaptainDippy · 08/04/2007 14:52

Glad you enjoyed the Farm nutty - LOL @ sheep - you can jsut make the excuse that PG women aren't supposed to be going near sheep this time of yr anyway ......

We've got four farm near here to go to - It is great, I love Eastbourne - so much for families to do .....

Bramshott · 08/04/2007 15:03

Nothing to say really - just popping in to say HAPPY EASTER to everyone!

CaptainDippy · 08/04/2007 15:29

Happy easter to you too hon! Hope it is all continuing to go well!

Right - off to PIL ....

AngeG · 08/04/2007 15:52
