@whyhastherumgone I was so happy to find a saline spray in boots that literally says 'suitable for pregnant women' and is targeted for colds. No idea of it's really helping, but I'm open to try anything right now!

I'll check out the kids version of Vicks too, my googling says camphor is bad so I'm assuming it won't have that in it.

whyhastherumgone · 24/09/2017 12:49

Oh glad you found some it did actually help me. I used vicks before i realised camphor wasn't okay and panicked but my doctor and midwife both said a tiny bit wouldn't have done any harm
Hope you feel better soon.

Hang on in there @flatwhite31

scottishem · 24/09/2017 14:16

I've had a runny nose and sniffles for a good 3 weeks now but don't feel like I'm ill with a cold. MW said that its because we produce more bodily mucus when we're pregnant.... Isn't pregnancy soo glamorous!! Grin

Has anyone been watching the Channel Mum week by week videos on youtube? I quite like them as they make me feel a little more normal as its real life stories not just textbook/nhs

Flatwhite31 · 24/09/2017 15:13

I so want to be part of this board @whyhastherumgone Sad. I loved comparing stories, symptoms etc and asking for advice. I want to be part of the Facebook group. It's just all so crap and so bloody lonely. I got a BFN yesterday and feel so empty.

Flatwhite31 · 24/09/2017 15:15

Thank you @NellWilsonsWhiteHair. The pain of MMC is awful. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. The thought of having to start again over 3 months later is utterly soul destroying.

Excited0803 · 24/09/2017 15:27

Congratson your boy @EsmeeMerlin.

Excited0803 · 24/09/2017 15:28

@FlatWhite - it's hard to know the baby has fully gone now, but that does mean you can now try again whenever you feel ready. Best of luck!

Flatwhite31 · 24/09/2017 16:08

If only it was that easy @Excited0803, but thank you. Xx

Jejazz · 25/09/2017 06:30

@whyhastherumgone same here for feeling hungry all the time! The other day I read that apparently when pregnant you can become resistant to a hormone called leptin, which normally suppresses your appetite! I'm trying to eat healthy snacks, but pretty sure that endless dried apricots become an unhealthy snack if eating a lot of them!

However, actually felt some resemblance to normality yesterday, could go out and do stuff without wanting to throw up and/or fell so tired I could fall asleep standing up. So actually made it back to the gym and hoping I can restart my exercise regime to counteract all the dried apricots!

@flatwhite31 Flowers for you, don't really have any words but hopefully posting here makes you feel less lonely.

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 25/09/2017 14:09

I feel like I'm echoing things a few of you have said over the last couple of weeks, but... when when when will my energy come back?! 14+1 today, which is legit second trimester, right? But I am still feeling knocked sideways with exhaustion.

I am fantasising about taking a day off work and spending it sleeping in a hotel. Grin Not at home, id only end up pottering around tidying up the terrible mess, or at least feeling guilty about it, or being annoyed by assorted noisy neighbours. But an afternoon in a hotel room..! Bliss.

whyhastherumgone · 25/09/2017 16:44

Imagine the pillows and the lovely crisp bedding @nellwilsonswhitehair
Lord, the bliss. I too am still tired. Not as bad as I was, but still completely useless. Doing one small thing seems to render me half asleep and groggy for the rest of the day.

Onceuponamama · 25/09/2017 17:09

nellwilson 16+3 here and still exhausted easily! It is getting better though as time goes on. Fingers crossed for you!

New symptom here...this... anyone else experiencing extreme heaviness/pressure down below? It feels as though all my insides are going to fall out of my lady parts! It really frightened me so I had it checked out today and apparently it's normal and just another joy of pregnancy!

I got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time today which was so lovely!

Onceuponamama · 25/09/2017 17:10

Tmi* instead of this!

scottishem · 25/09/2017 17:52

@Onceuponamama I've been having the exact same feeling for a couple of weeks now the pressure is so low down. I've got all the feelings going on in my tummy!

natalielawry1 · 25/09/2017 18:20

I’m due in March how much are people showing bump wise

OrangeCloud18 · 25/09/2017 20:09

Nellwilson 17+1 here and exhausted all the time...

I am a bit worried as due to hyperemesis I lost a lot of weight and am still 3 pounds below my pre-pregnancy weight which according to an app means I am about 6 pounds below the minimum weight I should be at this stage... Baby is being quite active though and midwife didn't say anything but made a face at the appointment.

mamasiz · 25/09/2017 20:48

@Onceuponamama 16+3 today too and also feeling that pressure!

whyhastherumgone · 25/09/2017 21:08

Got our Harmony test results back today and all clear, and found out we're having a boy! :)

Despite being incredibly nervous this whole time due to previous MMC, now I'm 14 weeks and had good news so far, we've thrown caution to the wind and told a few more people. Still feels really surreal and I'm sure I'm still going to have lots of anxiety wobbles but want to try and enjoy it a bit as well!

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 25/09/2017 21:45

That's lovely news rum - both the Harmony result and the feeling more confident in your pregnancy - long may it continue!

OrangeCloud I'm sorry about your weight loss worries... I totally get you (although it's not a problem I've had) and hope your sickness eases and you can start gaining more going forward. Babies are brilliantly parasitic though so I'm sure yours has been getting everything s/he needs in spite of the hyperemesis. Smile

FuzzyOwl · 26/09/2017 22:57

Great news whyhastherumgone

BeckleinDisguise · 27/09/2017 00:01

I’m definitely also still very tired! I get in from work most days and end up sleeping most of the afternoon! I’m not sure of my weight as I don’t have scales but although my belly is definitely growing, I seem to have lost weight in other places, enough so that DH has told me off! Eating is getting easier though so I’m sure I’ll gain some soon!

Great news on the harmony results whyhastherumgone!

I’ve got a MW appointment tomorrow, really hoping they can pick up the HB so I can relax a little and also feel happy ordering some maternity clothes - running out of things to wear!

mamasiz · 27/09/2017 08:52

Snap @whyhastherumgone - congratulations! Seeing midwife today - had a really tight tummy yesterday and (tmi) a pain when I wee. Curse the never ending UTI drama!

whyhastherumgone · 27/09/2017 09:06

Thanks everyone :)

ah congrats to you too @Mamasiz!
I have my sixteen week appointment in a week and a half but think I'm going to have to go back before then, I've started getting the dreaded signs of a UTI either. Not sure if that would be midwife or doctor?!

Scoobygang7 · 27/09/2017 10:04

@whyhastherumgone dr job. If you ring explain your symptoms to the receptionist they'll likely ask you to bring a sample in and get the nurse to dip it. Then depending on the results will send it off and go can prescribe without seeing you. Just be sure to tell them you're pregnant

FuzzyOwl · 27/09/2017 10:57

Hope you get seen quickly whereisthe. At my surgery the nurse can check for utis and prescribe antibiotics, so if you can't see a doctor then see if a nurse is available. Otherwise just ask if you can leave a sample for testing and they should say yes.
