@BeckleinDisguise chub bump is a perfect description for what I have too! It's definitely bigger than before but all squishy so I have no idea where my uterus is now 😂. I look really far gone after I've eaten as it all pushes out even more!

mamasiz · 19/09/2017 15:22

Serenity test came back today - all clear and we're having a boy! Flowers

whyhastherumgone · 19/09/2017 16:09

Ahhh @mamasiz amazing! Congratulations!!!!! So thrilled for you what a relief :D

BeckleinDisguise · 19/09/2017 17:38

bluebell, I was eating my overnight oats (or hastily chucked together granola and yogurt) in the staff room today when someone new at work asked me if I was doing Slimming World. I wouldn't have been too fussed, as apparently its a SW thing at the moment, but she then was very apologetic saying she wasn't suggesting I should be Blush. My two friends at work who currently know both commented how big I am getting too today, one laughed at me and the other said "blimey, you look pregnant today!". Not sure how I'm going to hide it for another week but its reassuring to know that I'm growing somewhat!

Fab news mamasiz!

Anyone else still struggling with certain foods? I'm feeling less ill when I eat and more is tasting good but am still struggling in the evenings, especially with anything hot! Still have a nasty taste in my mouth too and lots of smells still make my stomach turn.

scottishem · 19/09/2017 18:43

So just had a total dumb moment where I thought the start of the second trimester started at 14 weeks so I was getting all excited to be like wooo 2nd trimester on Thursday... checked my app... already in it. Can I blame baby brain yet??

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 19/09/2017 18:50

Brilliant news @mamasiz Smile

mrskitty15 · 19/09/2017 22:02

Congratulations mamasiz, that's great news.

Is anyone else still struggling with nausea? 13+4 tomorrow and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. I feel sick pretty much all day and was quite sick this morning. Has anyone had any success with anti sickness meds? I got some from my GP a few weeks ago and have tried to avoid taking them but I am getting to the point now where I might have to 😞

FuzzyOwl · 20/09/2017 09:37

Thanks BeckleinDisguise and I am still under the recurrent miscarriage clinic until I turn 14 weeks, so will give them another call.

If there is anybody else who would like to join the secret Facebook group, just send me a message with the email address you use to log into Facebook and I will email you the link.

@BeckleinDisguise I'm still struggling with some foods and tastes. Chewing gum is my new best friend! I've been taking my toothbrush everywhere but gum has really helped and controls the saliva too!

@mrskitty15 get on the meds! I'm taking something from the gp and I feel so much better. I take it at night and the next day is so much easier. I also got sea sick travel bands and they help too. If you are poorly enough to be given it take it. Don't suffer unnecessarily. It helped me eat more and drink more. Which has lead to me feeling stronger etc etc.

Kaffiene · 20/09/2017 11:53

Got my blood test results on the post today. Low risk for Downs, 1:428 massively down on my age related risk which was 1:63 😳
🎉🎉🎉
scottishem have you got yours yet?

Pinky333777 · 20/09/2017 12:09

@bluebell93 I just noticed you had your scan on the same day I did and we have the same due date 😊
How are ya?

mamasiz · 20/09/2017 16:36

Thanks all! I hope everyone is starting to feel less sick. I still can't eat certain foods - completely gone off meat of any kind, it stinks! Fish is still all good, so making sure I'm eating it when I can.

I was wondering if anyone else is asthmatic? My asthma has gone a bit haywire so my meds have really increased.

scottishem · 20/09/2017 16:41

@Kaffiene mine came today too! But mine didn't have a result it just said Downsyndrome: low risk.
I wonder why I didn't get a number result like everyone else does

mrskitty15 · 20/09/2017 16:51

@lokelani Thank you, I have taken a tablet now as I can't leave it any longer.

@mamasiz I have asthma too, mine has been ok so far and I don't remember any problems with first DC. Have you booked in for a Flu Vaccination? I don't normally have it just for my asthma but will have it this year due to being pregnant. I am dreadful with injections though and normally end up crying 🙈

whyhastherumgone · 20/09/2017 17:16

@scottishem I think they do it differently region by region x Glad to hear all the low risk results :)

I bought maternity jeans today despite being just 13 weeks Blush mainly for the sake of public decency, my bloat is so bad by the afternoon by jeans keep unzipping and the waistband digs in so much it makes me feel sick. They're comfy, but I keep having to check they haven't fallen down as I haven't got used to the elasticated band yet and I'm probably still a bit small for them!

BeckleinDisguise · 20/09/2017 18:31

whyhastherumgone did you go for over or under bump jeans? In the past I've always had over bump, folded them over and safety pinned them to the right size! I haven't even tried my jeans on to see if they still fit, they wouldn't comfortably do do up by 8-9 weeks Blush

Sorry to hear so many are still feeling sick, I'm definitely improving, it's just my evening meal I can't stomach - it's like as soon as the hunger is sated, the very next mouthful makes me gag!

BeckleinDisguise · 20/09/2017 18:32

fuzzyowl did you manage to get hold of the clinic today?

Bluebell93 · 20/09/2017 19:39

@Pinky333777 I'm good thanks - it's weird how quickly time goes when you're looking back, can't believe we're 15 weeks on Saturday! I've got my 15/16 week midwife appointment next Wednesday which is something to look forward to as well, how about you?

I really need to stay away from the pregnancy forum on MN though - I can't help but read the really upsetting threads which then freak me out!

I'm also worried about having a uti without knowing (never had one before) but I'm assuming I'd either have obvious symptoms or they'll pick it up in the standard urine tests anyway.

scottishem · 20/09/2017 19:42

Did anyone here get tested for Edwards Syndrome??
Read on the nhs website that the combined test covers it however my results only say my risk of downs and can't remember MW ever mentioning testing for Edwards so I didn't get tested for it

whyhastherumgone · 20/09/2017 20:35

I got tested for downs, edwards and patau's syndrome as part of my combined screening. Maybe give your midwife a call if you're worried as it should be offered on the nhs

scottishem · 20/09/2017 21:34

@whyhastherumgone did you get given statistic results for all three?

scottishem · 20/09/2017 21:50

Just looked through all my notes and the leaflet sent to me about screening and nothing at all about Edwards syndrome so will defo be giving my midwife a call as I can't see why I wasn't offered it when I had my blood test Hmm

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 20/09/2017 22:01

When I filled in the form before my blood test, there were separate consent options for downs only, Edwards and Patau's only, or all three. Did you somehow get only consented for the Down's option, I wonder? I guess there could be regional variation? But would expect the NHS website to reflect that. I hope midwife is helpful!

scottishem · 20/09/2017 22:06

I gave consent for testing at my booking in appointment and the only box's were I do or I do not consent to being tested for Downs syndrome and the midwife ticked it and signed after she asked me. It must just be a region thing but like you said you would expect NHS website to say that and cant think why it would be different. Hmmm... thanks for your replies though x

whyhastherumgone · 20/09/2017 22:13

@scottishem
i got a stat for downs and then a separate stat for both edwards and patau's

hope you get an answer from your midwife
