Lovely wee bump picture Smile I've started to show properly this week, enjoying my new maternity leggings today, ridiculously comfy! Haven't been on here in so long, hope you're all well. Starting to bit more real for me now, 17 + 2

MrsW0812 · 30/09/2017 18:13

Awe that’s a cute bump - mine just looks like I’ve ate a lot of chips - yours is nice and round 😀

On another note - was walking down the stairs yesterday early evening and ended up falling the last four and have broken my foot and badly sprained my ankle. Gutted! Hoping to get a boot from hospital on Monday so at least I might be able to be mobile! 😞

FindingNemoandDory · 01/10/2017 08:25

Congrats everyone!

Tentatively joining after initial miscarriage scare early on and then awful 12 week scan showing high nuchal translucency. We have had CVS which was clear (but I understand doesn't rule out genetic syndromes) and have a fetal cardiac scan coming up in London.

We are relatively young and no family history so shocked at the high risk (came back 1 in 10) and worried about the endless awful possibilities but starting to feel hopeful after CVS...

EsmeeMerlin · 01/10/2017 11:30

I am feeling exhausted this week. I do feel like I am coming down with a cold though so hopefully I'll feel more energetic when I start to feel better.

I had the flu jab this week, got to book in for whooping cough vaccine soon as well.

We have enjoyed though buying some cute outfits now we know the sex and sorting some of our ds(4) baby clothes.

scottishem · 01/10/2017 13:25

@Esmee I've been really exhausted the past few days when I haven't really been doing much at all whereas last week I was feeling great and energetic! I feel that's just gunna be the trend for my pregnancy!
Doesn't help that I'm still suffering with sickness, off my HG medication but still being sick at least twice a day Sad

Shehz21 · 01/10/2017 13:35

Hey ladies. Can I join in? 15+3 and due on the 23rd March '18
scottishem i am also currently battling HG. But can't even dream of weaning off my medecines if I don't want to end in hospital for rehydration. Sorry about me being nosy but really need to ask how far along are you and what medz were you on?
I am on Phenergan/Avomine/Promethazine 25mg along with Metoclopromide.

Esmee just had my flu jab 2 days ago and booked in for the whooping cough vaccine for after a month since GP said its only after 20weeks they give it to pregnant womenHmm
Arm still sore but commiserations about the exhaustion. Haven't had my "blooming" stage yet in my pregnancy.

Shehz21 · 01/10/2017 13:40

FindingNemoandDory
Congratulations to you too! Flowers
Sorry about the initial miscarriage scare added with the worrying news at your 12 week scan but glad to hear that CVS was clear. Also goodluck for your upcoming scan. Crossing fingers that everything goes fine for you!

OrangeCloud18 · 01/10/2017 14:03

Shezh I have had HG since week 5 and I am on ondansetron. I was admitted twice to hospital and now I can manage my day with one pill a day but still throw up from time to time. I am 18 weeks.

scottishem · 01/10/2017 15:06

@Shehz21 I'm 15+3. Sounds like you've definately had it worse than me. I went to GP really early on (week 5) and he was really good and got me on meds straight away. I tried ondansetron but didn't feel much of an effect so tried cyclizine and felt so much better after just a few days on them. I went down to 2 tablets at about 11 weeks then down to 1 eventually (made me sick about 5 times a day but was manageable) and been off them for a week now so may still have some in my system but to be honest I'de rather try and have nausea and sickness a few times a day then stay on them and not know if I was feeling better or not. Still only eating very small portions and certain foods though. Hope you start to feel relief from it soon!

scottishem · 01/10/2017 15:10

@Shehz21 also I asked for the cyclizine as my sister had had a similar experience and found cyclizine amazing so I asked if I could try it and like I said my GP is really good and was happy for me to switch

scottishem · 01/10/2017 15:19

For those who have had their flu jab already how did you feel afterwards? I'm still going to have it but most people I know who've had it in pregnancy and for other reasons like asthma have felt ill afterwards like theyve got the flu Hmm

MrsCR2016 · 01/10/2017 15:24

@scottishem I had mine Thursday and felt crappy Friday but feel fine now and did so yesterday, I have to have one each year though due to a medical condition. But always feel the same after each one.

EsmeeMerlin · 01/10/2017 16:35

I had it Wednesday and felt fine. Arm sore and did feel tired but that could be down to pregnancy. Certainly no flu symptoms.

suntraveller · 01/10/2017 18:01

@scottish I had mine on Wednesday and for 2 days I felt a scratchy throat and my body was tired but that passed. That seems like a better option then something worse later on.

Shehz21 · 01/10/2017 18:41

OrangeCloud18 oh when did the HG start to taper off? Glad to hear it did though! Gave me some hope for my unrelenting nausea and vomiting. My GP wouldn't let me take Ondansetron hence the cocktail of meds. Have been hospitalized twice as well and don't want to end up like that again.

scottish oh we are both due dates buddies!Grin
On the 15+3 mark as well.
Getting some serious envy about the great GP you have! Mine won't hear about Ondansetron.Envy
But doing quite well so far with my little cocktail.
You are a braver woman than I am,I can't bear the crippling nausea and severe vom without the medecines. I have quite low pain tolerance in general so not surprised I rather have a drugged up pregnancy than be sick everyday.
About the flu jab,I had a sore arm the next day but that was pretty much it.

mrskitty15 · 01/10/2017 19:18

Hello ladies,

Hope everyone is doing ok :)

Out of curiosity does anyone know why some GP’s are saying no to Ondansetron? I tried cyclizine and it did nothing for me, the GP then gave me Ondansetron and I have felt much more human and not being sick and nauseous 24/7. I was delaying taking it but I saw a consultant earlier this week (regarding my method of delivery) and she said it was fine and it was better for both of us to take it than be ill. She said any possible risks would be before week 12 when all of the fetal development is taking place. Also my GP’s wife is currently taking it for HG too so that me feel more reassured too.

scottishem · 01/10/2017 20:18

@mrskitty15 my first thought would be something to do with cost. I feel they always try cheaper options first and ondansetron is relatively new compared to other drugs.

Glad to hear you weren't all too bad after your flu jabs Smile

OrangeCloud18 · 02/10/2017 16:41

I'm not entirely sure why. Maybe more expensive for NHS? They started giving it to me the 2nd time I was admitted and it made a huge difference. My doctor said to keep taking it as it was better than me back on a drip at hospital and my midwife seemed happy it was helping me.
At around 15 weeks, I started to feel a bit better. Now, I have good and bad days and have only managed 2 days without Ondansetron so far but I am down from 3 a day to 1 in the mornings.

lokelani · 04/10/2017 13:24

Anyone else absolutely shattered! Any tips?

mummymathsteacher · 04/10/2017 17:13

Anomaly scan all normal and we're having a little girl! DS is so far not very impressed with this new information.

Also shattered lokelani and have no tips apart from early nights!

Shehz21 · 05/10/2017 08:20

mummymathsteacher

mrskitty15 · 05/10/2017 22:44

Hello ladies, Hope everyone is doing ok?

Has anyone been feeling any movements yet? I am sure I felt something today (15+5), it was at 14 weeks with DD.

scottishem · 06/10/2017 17:30

@mrskitty15 I felt something today. Sure of it! Had a couple of weird feelings last week but put it down to stretching but definately felt something today! Im 16+1

OrangeCloud18 · 06/10/2017 17:36

I'm 18+5 and have been feeling our little one for the past few weeks. It's such a weird feeling! (First baby)
I get proper kicks now Grin

mrskitty15 · 06/10/2017 17:51

@OrangeCloud18 It is a very strange feeling to begin with, very reassuring and lovely though too😊 I foolishly thought I had turned a corner with my sickness today, had felt great for most of the day so had not taken a tablet.... Woke up from a nap to the worst sickness I have had to date, fingers crossed it stops soon.
