Good luck Ange! xx

Had my first KNUF yesterday..should be a good sign of baby getting into position? 37 weeks tomorrow so would be a good sign if so. Thanks for the help re. maternity bras..the bravado one looks like the most adjustable so think I'll get one of those.. though the site was asking for 8 quid delivery!!!! blimey.

Hope all of you with kids manage to occupy them okay over the hols.. cannot even imagine how exhausting that must be. Was a beautiful day this morning but looks like it's clouding over. Hoping it doesn't rain so dh and I can go for a long walk at lunch. Have made spinach soup..mmmmmm

CaptainDippy · 03/04/2007 11:01

Just sent a text to Ange to wish her all the best for her Section today. Don't know what time she is booked in. Can't wait to hear her wonderful news though ....

Must be sooo weird to go into hospital knowing that you are going to be holding your baby in your arms in a couple of hours, iykwim!!? Unlike when you have bubbba naturally and it could take days ....

Sorry 1st timers....

I have two pre-schoolers at home maveta - so holidays are no different for me, except that Pre-School is shut for DD1 and I palm her off on willing teenage volunteers from church!!

maveta · 03/04/2007 11:04

CD - sounds like you've got it sussed!
Think I'm going to clean the fridge/ defrost the freezer today. Hands up anyone who's got a life!! (in case it wasn't clear.. my hand is firmly by my side..)

CaptainDippy · 03/04/2007 11:05

D'oh!! Don;t know why, but totally thought today was tomorrow -

Ange's section is quite clearly tomorrow - she's just texted me to say that she's going in for bloods this PM and in 1st thing tomrorow morning for Section. She's feeling v.v.v.nervous, poor thing. Her Internet connection is down so she doesn't think she'll be able to get on and post today ....

CaptainDippy · 03/04/2007 11:06

Nope. No life here.

Defrosting the fridge and freezer sounds exciting!! Can I join you? Whereabouts are you?

CaptainDippy · 03/04/2007 11:06

Though I could buzz over in my private jet ....

CaptainDippy · 03/04/2007 11:11

If I posted the very long and boring list I have for packing my hospital bag, would you guys tell me if you think there is anything I am missing ..... Thinking I really shouldb e thinking about actually packing it now .....

runnyhabbit · 03/04/2007 11:21

CD - Think you should post your list. I've got a labour bag together, so everything is in one place (more for dh than me, seeing as we're going for a homebirth ) but I should really do a proper hospital bag "just in case". I've got a few things together, but nothing finished iyswim.

Lol at chatty dc. When I woke up this morning, ds was lying next to me - he's never done this before because our bed is too high for him to climb, until now

CaptainDippy · 03/04/2007 11:22

Do I smell!!?

Everyone's run away ....

mammyjo · 03/04/2007 11:23

Morning all. Just popping in quickly while Ffion is asleep. Ds and dh have gone out for a while today so its just the girls at home! She really is a good baby (not like ds at all who used to scream a lot) and I am actually getting more sleep now than I was when still carrying her! I feel that I am coping well with her but still feel very teary. To those who already have dc's do you think this is normal? Had PND last time and dont want to let it get bad again this time if it starts. At the same time I dont want to overreact if it is normal baby blues IYSWIM. Would be grateful for any advice or thoughts on this.

Maveta, hope you got the bra sorted. My milk has come in with a vengeance and my boobs are massive so just wanted to warn you about the sudden growth spurt!

Congratulations to Dooby on the arrival of your baby! Hooray for the first genuine April baby!

Good luck for your section tomorrow Ange. Not sure if I will get back on here between now and then.

Hope everyone else is doing ok. Thinking of you all, just not having as much time to post as I did before!

CaptainDippy · 03/04/2007 11:24

Bless your chattering DS - MY DD1 can't get up onto our bed so she gets her toilet step from the bathroom and uses that to climb up after she's given her little sis a bunk up!! Ingenious. Must take after their father ....

CaptainDippy · 03/04/2007 11:26

Enjoy your alone time mammyjo! I think it is perfectly normal to be teary after having a baby sweetie. I didn't have PND with either of mine, but was certainly v.emotional (and irrational!!) for a few weeks after giving birth to each of my girls. If you have any concerns / worries as the weeks go by, then just go straight to your GP / HV - I am sure you will, but don't be afraid. [[hugs]

hesden do you love morrisons too then full of lovely people I used to work there many moons ago as a saturday job but when it was Safeway. Some people i used to work with are still there

Mammyjo nice to hear from you. I don't remember being too teary with dd but was very ired so don't remember too much. And it is perfectly normal but like CD says talk to someone if you're even slightly worried that's what they are there for.

DC's can be very clever when they need to be. My nephews sound like little monsters when they were younger. Just over a year between them and when they were 1 and 2 they used to get the gate off of their bedroom door then go downstairs. One morning BIL and SIL found they turned the oven on and started to cook potatoes and that same morning they'd taken their nappies off and it was all smeared into the sofas etc, nice Mind you i'm not sure why they let them downstairs by themselves at that age. I know they let themselves out but you'd hear them wouldn't you? and i'd be straight up to supervise if that was dd. Ho hum makes for a funny story IMO

Eddas · 03/04/2007 11:40

Great list CD. Will have to make sure i've got all that and yes i know my due date was yesterday

mammyjo · 03/04/2007 11:41

Didnt see a towel in that list although could be blind! I took in one for me and one for Ffion.
Thanks for that too CD, certainly dont feel anything like I did last time and am loving being home with Ffion. Enjoying her so much which makes me think perhaps its just a hormonal post birth thing as I did only have her 6 days ago. Midwife calling at some time today so I think perhaps I will mention it to her. Its amazing how other people telling you its ok to feel a bit down makes you feel better!

CaptainDippy · 03/04/2007 11:42

What little monkeys your nephews are - My DD1 has just worked out how to do the stair gates ....

Witch Hazel - yes, of course - have put it down, thankyou!

maveta · 03/04/2007 11:43

No, I don´t think you smell CD but then, I am far away... No, I just struck while the iron was hot and turned off the fridge and emptied it ready for cleaning. Now I definitely HAVE to clean it! The clouds seem to have moved over us so it´s also a great washing day. I have become so domesticated. Dh is loving it

Just about to take a squizz at your list.. I´ve had my bags packed for a couple of weeks now due to dh´s nervousness but will be interesting to see what I´ve forgotten.

HI MAMMYJO!! So glad to hear from you and totally understandable that you don´t have time to post, can´t help with the baby blues vs PND worry but it hasn´t been long at all since you had her so guess there´s a really good chance it´s just baby blues? xxx

mammyjo · 03/04/2007 11:44

Thinking of you Eddas. Sending you vibes for an imminent labour!! At least then when people ask you the dreaded question you can say Yes I bloody have thankyou very much!!

Mmmm not sure i have a towel(s) in mine

Also, mw told me to take in pillows and i have to take bottles and formula too but think these things are just my hosiptal, LOL!

hensden my friend was going to go to A&E today but was advised to go to docs instead(dd had hurt her foot) because they have some kind of bug there at the moment. Have you heard anything about it Apparently they've closed one ward and A&E is another hot spot for this bug? Anyway just thought i'd mention it. Will update if i find out anything else

CD - second towels and face cloths? Been told they´re good for keeping you cool. Don´t forget your lip balm either!

But I think that sounds like more or less everything... ooh did you put socks for yourself or slippers to keep your toes warm (I have terrible circulation)?

CaptainDippy · 03/04/2007 11:48

Glad you are enjoying her - How's feeding going? Are you BF or bottle?? To wel ... Yes, will add that too - thank you!
