@theotherendofthesockportal I'm having a ELCS due to DD's issues at birth. Not sure if I'm brave enough to put the date in writing. Don't want to tempt fate (although you can work it out from my EDD!).

theotherendofthesockportal · 26/10/2017 13:08

@Zampa I understand what you mean about tempting fate! I spent the whole of my pregnancy saying that my baby would be early and breech and that’s exactly what I ended up with, although I didn’t expect her to be as early as she was.

Zampa · 26/10/2017 15:00

There's 25% off on the Frugi website at the moment. Ends tomorrow.

Going to get DD a coat and new baby some vests.

Hazandduck · 26/10/2017 17:46

Does anyone else find their baby does the downward dog!! My god the way he/she sticks their butt up in the air contorts my whole stomach and looks so weird! The picture doesn’t even do it justice, but you can see the line that should go down the centre of my stomach has been pushed far over to the left! 😬

lydiangel83 · 26/10/2017 17:56

Yes @Hazandduck mine is similar shape to yours! Can’t understand how it can be comfy lol

butterybollocks · 26/10/2017 18:24

Same here @Hazandduck. I also get a hard bit sticking out at right angles on my right hand side, asked sonographer to look at what it was on the scan. Yesterday - it's a foot!

I feel not quite right today. Bump is a bit achey, have lost appetite, a bit shivery and have no energy. I'm thinking it's probably just from doing too much over the past few days and not sleeping well last night. 3 hours in hospital yesterday was exhausting.

Hazandduck · 26/10/2017 18:53

Ooh I’ve had the hard lumps stick out too! I really want to see an actual foot. It’s so weird watching your stomach just move so dramatically! I don’t get it either @lydia, it makes me laugh imagining the baby posing like that lol.

@buttery Ah rubbish you’re not feeling right. I always feel a bit throaty when I have been in hospital, I think I imagine myself in to picking up a cold!

Topsyloulou · 26/10/2017 21:24

Another one with a wonky bump tonight. I don't know what the baby is doing in there but it is most definitely not comfortable for me. At times it feels like she's doing star jumps, there are limbs in every corner! She's started getting hiccups but she doesn't like having hiccups so after everyone she does a kick or flails her arms around & typically it's normally the middle of the night! I'm feeling quite thankful for an anterior placenta at the moment as it gives me a degree of cushioning. She is back to back so I often get a foot sticking out & I can make out the feel of her toes sometimes.

DS was so long that he had his feet sticking out permanently from about 34 weeks & if I wore something fitted you could see them!

Getting lots more twinges everyday, she dropped really low yesterday & I had a real waddle but she's gone all the way back up today. Last day at work tomorrow, finally, so she can come any time now if she wants to come of her own accord rather than elcs.

Hazandduck · 26/10/2017 22:30

That’s exciting @topsy! And so with you on the uncomfortable moves! Feels like Baby is beating me up from the inside out lol! X

GingerHanna · 27/10/2017 06:35

Sooooo... it’s still a rollercoaster here in the Netherlands.

Midwife yesterday and talked her through what had been happening. She recommended induction early next week - then did my BP and said she would call the hospital that day as it was 120/90 on both times. 90 is the cut off for systolic. Also said baby feels okay but on the small side. This was an 11:00 appointment and due for hospital scan and check up today Friday at 14:30.

Got a call at 17:05 from midwife - they’d just spoken to the hospital and wanted me to go in right away for a CTG and BP check. I had also noticed sluggish movements so had been considering calling. Called DH and told him to leave work immediately and meet me at the hospital. Took my hospital bag just in case.

CTG and BP end up being fine but they are not comfortable with the sluggish movements, but happy that he is moving. Therefore they did a scan on the old portable machine and whilst he seems okay fluid is down to 20mm which is very low and nearly in danger zone. Tummy is nice and full though so that is good.

Back again this afternoon and we will be talking through specifics for an induction plan including dates. Ideally they would like me to get as close to 38 weeks as possible but it may not happen. If movements still sluggish today and fluid still so low they may induce this afternoon. 37 weeks today.

Hopefully he’ll be okay though as we can at least get one last weekend... not sure it will happen though as have been awake most of the night but still only sluggish movements and same this morning. Trying to keep and open mind but head is all over the place as I just want a plan and a way forward and this going back and forward is driving me crazy. We are really balancing on a tightrope between getting him as strong as possible and getting him out before everything deteriorates.

Maybe we’ll have a second October baby on here after all!

Good luck Hanna - the uncertainty must be really difficult, I can totally understand the need for a plan!

Hazandduck · 27/10/2017 07:39

Don’t apologise @Gingerhanna, you must be exhausted by it all and it sounds like you’ve had a really difficult time. Crossing everything that all goes ok today x

Zampa · 27/10/2017 07:53

Good luck @gingerhanna!

ValentineFizz · 27/10/2017 07:56

Thinking of you @GingerHanna, hoping you get your plan and next steps sorted today Flowers

lydiangel83 · 27/10/2017 08:25

butterybollocks · 27/10/2017 09:27

Thinking of you @Gingerhanna

theotherendofthesockportal · 27/10/2017 11:04

@GingerHanna good luck! Thinking of you today xx

GingerHanna · 27/10/2017 11:30

Thank you ladies. Not crying here... honest.

I am oscillating between just wanting him out and knowing he is okay to wanting to wait and get him as strong as possible (plus a few more days to sort the house would be very welcomed!).

What a time to be hormonal eh?!?!

So Mat Leave has finally begun- wahooo.

Sorry to hear so many of us are having a tough time of it lately.

Not long now ladies till our bumps pop and we have our little squishy babies to cuddle!

Xx

GingerHanna · 27/10/2017 15:20

Right. So. Okay.

I have been admitted to hospital properly now and will be leaving with a baby! (All being well of course!)

Plan is to induce some time between now and Tuesday. There is a docs mtg at 16:30 today where they will discuss my case and see what they want to do. If it is not immediate I will stay and be on twice daily monitoring.

So it looks like there will be a second October baby after all!

lydiangel83 · 27/10/2017 15:24

Oh wow @GingerHanna that is a big step! I hope for your sake you can be induced sooner rather than later but sending you lots of positive vibes - you will be ace! Xx

izzibee29 · 27/10/2017 16:03

Woweee @GingerHanna. Exciting times. Crossing fingers for you. Can’t wait to see a pic of the little angel (hoping it’s another ginger too as there aren’t enough of us about!).

AGnu · 27/10/2017 16:07

Eek! Fx everything goes smoothly Hanna! How exciting/terrifying that we're all getting so close now!

I had my iron levels re-checked yesterday & heard this morning that they've risen slightly &, assuming DD stays put for the next 10 hours until I'm 37w, I'm cleared for my home birth! I didn't quite like to mention to the MW that if they hadn't given me permission I'd have "left it too late to get to the hospital". I've also not told them that I'm going to refuse the monitoring every 5 minutes when I'm pushing... I'm not a very compliant patient! Blush

I've also just found out that there's a family event that's been organised for when I'm 41w. Given that my previous 2 have been born a couple of days either side of 41w that could be... interesting! We've already got 2 interesting birth stories & the family event is about an hour away... Hard shoulder birth, maybe?! Grin My previous labours have been about 8hrs so as long as we left as soon as I got any twinges I'm sure it'd be fine... She might come before that anyway! If it were any other relative I'd stay home but it is what it is & we'll go, assuming I'm not already in labour!

theotherendofthesockportal · 27/10/2017 16:20

Welcome to maternity leave @izzibee29!

Ahhh @GingerHanna wishing you all the best over the next few days. Yay another October baby. I can’t believe my little one is two weeks old. How did that happen?

@AGnu I am curious about your interesting birth stories. Are you happy to share?
