In which we swat away unwanted hands, perform military operations every night to roll over in our sleep, clean the kitchen cupboards for the eleventy billionth time and count down the days to our maternity leave!

Hahaha! Just realised that I only have 3 weeks left of work and 6 weeks of maternity! Baby brain is in full mode Today! So much to do and so little time! X

AGnu · 28/09/2017 15:02

People keep commenting on how small my bump is. It's got to the point where I almost consider not going out to places where I might have to talk to people because I'm so fed up with it! It's a very different shape than my previous pregnancies - this one looks like I've shoved a small ball up my top, the others were a lot more spread out. I much prefer this bump but I'm getting self-conscious about it! The MW said it was measuring exactly right at my last appt & I do tend to have small babies so I'm not too concerned. I'm fully expecting to get sent for a growth scan at some point - quite looking forward to the chance to see her again!

redfragglebiker · 28/09/2017 15:19

@Motherhippy16 @AGnu I am completely jealous of your tiny bumps. I'm exactly 32 weeks today and feeling like a big fat blobby land whale. To make it worse we have a big family get together next week for Grandads 90th and loads of folk will be taking photos etc. I hate photos at the best of times but right now I don't even want to be seen in public, much less have my current size and shape saved for posterity.

AGnu · 28/09/2017 15:35

I've got a wedding to go to at 36w & have bought a figure-hugging dress to show off the bump. It's the last time I'm not likely to want to choose clothes to avoid looking pregnant so I'm going to embrace it. I showed DM a photo & she said it's a bit tight... Apparently every pregnant woman should be ashamed of her body & hide it under a tent. Hmm I feel more body-confident now than I ever have & I'm going to make the most of it before I go back to the squishy belly look!

redfragglebiker · 28/09/2017 15:45

@agnu - Rock that bump woman - If I wasn't feeling so awful I would do!

lydiangel83 · 28/09/2017 17:56

@AGnu totally rock the bump! I wore a lovely Tiffany rose lace dress to a christening recently, got it for a bargain on eBay and may sell it on now too as was still quite pricey (but cheaper than brand new).

I like belly feeling tight (fat nicely stretched out). Whenever people comment on my size / shape I just remind myself that unless they are medically trained they know nothing! It professionals are telling you that you’re ok then trust them :) xx

izzibee29 · 28/09/2017 18:03

@Motherhippy16 I've got 4 weeks left at work too, can't wait!!!.

@lydiangel83 antibiotics are something I've been on basically since August (will be on for the last few weeks too). I don't feel ill on them but you can be prescribed different types- maybe talk to your doctor and see if they can give you a different version to do the same job.

theotherendofthesockportal · 28/09/2017 18:34

@AGnu rock your bump with pride! I have an enormous bump!!! I'm quite short and had a bit of extra padding to start with, my bump enters the room before I do. I did get upset earlier over my size as I was photographed at work for my baby leaving lunch. Let's just say that photo won't be seeing the light of day!

@lydiangel83 I had to take antibiotics for a uti a few months ago. Definitely finish the course.

My bladder problem had me up 14 times last night :( and it can't be treated with antibiotics. Luckily I came home to find a letter referring me the urologist in the next few weeks.

Last day at work tomorrow, I'm torn between being delighted and feeling like the end of an era.

AccrualIntentions · 28/09/2017 19:39

Another 4 weeks left at work person here...21 days to go and a load of work to fit into that time!

I'm loving having a bump, I don't have to suck my stomach in for the first time in 15 years and I'm making the most of tight dresses. Mine isn't particularly big either, because I'm tall and have a really long torso so it doesn't stick out that much.

izzibee29 · 28/09/2017 20:17

Just realised we hadn't shared the link to our shared google doc for the group for a while. Any one who wants to can log due dates on this. Quite a few of us have so far and it'll be super exciting the closer we all get to those edd.

Topsyloulou · 28/09/2017 20:57

My bump looks like I have a basketball up my dress, it's really round & sticks out pretty far. Think I either had a growth spurt over the weekend or she's changed position as when I went into work on Monday everyone commented on how much bigger my bump was. I've been rocking the tight dresses for weeks now, because of the shape of my bump it's much more flattering than loose clothes. I'm starting to grow out of some of my maternity tops now!

lydiangel83 · 28/09/2017 21:47

@AccrualIntentions ditto loving letting the stomach hang out lol

AGnu · 28/09/2017 21:48

I cried tonight because I was hungry & DH wasn't getting me food fast enough. Now I'm on the verge of crying again because I'm tired. Hormones! Hmm

Topsyloulou · 29/09/2017 05:52

@AGnu I cried yesterday morning because the cat wouldn't leave me alone when I was trying to clean the carpet when DS had had a wee accident, full on sobbing, tears, runny nose. DP came running upstairs wondering what on earth had happened. That's my first episode of irrational crying this pregnancy, I'm sure there will be many more to come in the next 6 weeks!

butterybollocks · 29/09/2017 06:22

My bump feels so tight, and everyone keeps telling me it's small but it feels big to me! I'm also enjoying wearing tight tops etc without worrying about my usual flabby belly!

I cry about food all the time!

Zampa · 29/09/2017 06:54

Glad to hear I'm not the only weeper. On Wednesday I cried about not getting many house warming cards and how none of my team want to go to my leaving lunch (they do though ...).

I also had a bit of a moment about not wanting the new baby and it just being DD and me forever. Not sure where that came from and I'm over it now. Think I'm just worried about handling two children and making sure DD still gets the attention she needs to assist her development.

AccrualIntentions · 29/09/2017 07:38

I've actually been crying less than usual, pregnancy seems to have stabilised me! Hopefully that will continue post partum but, realistically, I'll probably be a snivelling mess.

DueNov · 29/09/2017 07:46

Hi all. I am due 29 November and already huge. Measuring three weeks ahead 😔 some days I wonder how ill cope for just under 9 more weeks. Maternity leave on 30 October cannot come quick enough!! First baby a nd I think I'm nesting. Washed her clothes yet day more to do today. She has way too much!

lydiangel83 · 29/09/2017 09:29

I cry pretty easily usually anyway but have been very angry / raging whilst pregnant. DH says it’s like 9 months PMT!

Jamandbumpsmum · 29/09/2017 10:16

I too keep having random crying episodes, this morning at 3am was the last one, I don't quite know why, I just woke up and there were tears rolling down my face and my pillow was soaked, I don't even remember having a dream at all to cause it.

Anyway has anyone else been told baby's head is engaged at 34 week midwife appointment?
Everyone keeps telling me my dates will be a month out and even the midwife said be prepared for the 36 week mark, yet I only measured 34 week as I was supposed to.

I'm just a little baffled, because everything has been calculated on a 1 day period in early February, yet my dates take it to conception 5 days before that. and the one before was December (a proper period)which does bring my due date forward a month.. Confused

AGnu · 29/09/2017 11:48

That's v confusing Jam! I guess realistically none of us actually know when our babies will come & all we can do is try to be prepared in plenty of time! I don't think it's unusual for the head to be engaged at this stage - it often moves up & down quite a bit in the last few weeks.

Just had another thought about potentially useful things to take in a hospital bag... If you're likely to be in for any length of time & might want to keep anything in the communal fridge then it might be an idea to take sticky labels & a pen.

Jamandbumpsmum · 29/09/2017 13:17

Oh yeah thanks for that idea, I was in a couple of days with my dd when she was born 2010. But i was lucky being my first and not going straight home everyone was round to visit so i had a macdonalds brought in and a greggs the following day as theyre only down the road from the carpark, so when everyone was having cuddles i was happily munching a burger and fries (something dd wouldnt let me have in pregnancy) haha. Hospital food was awful apart from the toast for breakfast. Hehe.

Motherhippy16 · 29/09/2017 17:15

I've been randomly crying as well... usually when dh is being nice to me.... think he's getting a bit fed up with the randomness of my emotions but I do remind him of his part in this and that he gets to escape from me where as I'm in my head 24/7! I need to correct that I'm on maternity 3 weeks today.... I'm so tired and have so much paperwork to do and handover to do! X

TeamRocket · 29/09/2017 20:12

DueNov I know how you feel, I feel enormous too. had my Gp appointment on Monday when I was 33+5 and am measuring 38 weeks! Been referred for a growth scan next Friday, hopefully everything will be fine but I’m not really sure what the outcomes might be? Anyone had any experience of this?

DueNov · 29/09/2017 23:49

I've measured 3 weeks ahead each time. No growth scan offered yet. This was me at 30weeks. Excuse the messy room!
