I like Avent microwave steriliser and bottles, because it all fits in together teats/spouts/cups/handles - all interchangable as they get older.
I use Hipp Organic formula.
Am getting very excited now we are talking lists! And I've still got 3 months to go!

Ria, I'm having a home birth so not planning any hospital stay. If I was planning a hospital birth, or if I go in, I'll be trying to leave for home from the delivery suite. I can't bear post-labour ward! After DS2 was born I was up washing towels and I won't be doing that again. I'm planning to spend a couple of days in bed with the baby.
Have told DP that I won't be going on the Family Weekend with his mum, dad, sisters, husbands and kids as we do every year, and he was fine about it. I'll be 38 weeks then and don't fancy a 3 hour car journey (which will turn into a 5 hour one with wee stops) and eating at 10pm at night.

foxybrown · 05/04/2007 14:09

oh and I really wouldn't bother getting one of those nappy bins with cartridges for disposables. If you really, really want one you can have mine!

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 05/04/2007 14:15

I'm really sorry for making everyone shop, but as they say you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink !! Can't wait til my La Redoute customer number comes through, then I can buy more stuff!! Have already bought a toybox from Vertbaudet this morning, but that was on the need to buy now list. ATM dd's toys are randomly scattered throughout the house!

I am not going to buy any baby stuff really. Don't need to. I have my new buggy and new baby sleepsuits and I need a couple of sterliser bags. How boring. I can kind of justify my catalogue spending as there will be very little new baby spending!

Foxy what buggy are you going to buy?

Glad you are feeling ok seansgirl. (((hugs)))

Bumper on the steriliser front if you are planning on bfing then you will only need a small steriliser or steriliser bags as you will only need to do one bottle or your breast pump at a time. There is not much point buying a big one with loads of bottles as you won't end up using it and you will get pissed off with it taking up so much room.

Sorry about the long post, feeling quite chatty today!!

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 05/04/2007 14:20

I had that system as well foxy with little cups to store breastmilk in that you can screw a teat directly onto. They are brilliant and I used them for food as well. I did have a different breastpump, but it is only a case of pouring the milk into the pots. I can remember how proud I used to be after I'd got loads of milk out! I'd run and find dp shouting "look 5 ounces!" and he'd just look at me and say "wow, brilliant darling!". It's the small things that please you sometimes!!

foxybrown · 05/04/2007 14:22

I have just bought a Silver Cross pushchair from john Lewis, and saved £10 with Hollys top website! Very happy now.

riabutterflew · 05/04/2007 14:24

Thanks Foxy. I can't face the home birth thing - I need to distance myself!!! Will talk to MW and DH nearer the time. It will depend on how I feel anyway (and if there is a darts tournament on TV - when I was in with DS2 the woman who had the bed next to the TV watched darts from TV on til TV off).
Please find me more free shopping Holly. I don't actually like shopping, but I only need a bit of encouragement.

riabutterflew · 05/04/2007 14:25

Re home birth - that is only my opinion for ME. Please don't start a big nasty debate.

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 05/04/2007 14:25

Glad I could help!! Which one is it?

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 05/04/2007 14:28

Homebirths aren't for everyone. I didn't want one first time round, but I do this time. Everyone is different!! I'm sure we'll convert you into a shopper, shopping is fun, esp when it's free or really cheap!!

foxybrown · 05/04/2007 14:45

Ria! You know us better than that!

We respect your opinion. Methinks you've had your fingers burnt on other threads...

I bought the Pop pushchair in pistacio (sp). and a top and tailing bowl for £3, so I could get free delivery over £100. Then took the tenner off so got two things cheaper than just the buggy and free delivery.

Have also filled a basket with everything else so am going to go back and do another shop and use the same code.

Was going to get another Maclaren but this one looks just as good, light and from birth.

Oh, and I've booked my spa nights away - two nights! yippppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Seansgirl · 05/04/2007 15:03

No judgement here either Ria, so no worries there. I am like you too have learnt not express too much of an opinion.........you never know whos around (looks over shoulder) or dropping in here!

Seansgirl · 05/04/2007 15:07

Come on then Holly, as childrens entertainer fancier how does Captain Feathersword score? Oh yes, and meant to ask you how are you getting on with the vertbaudet jeans? was it the stretchy panel on your next jeans that ripped? I got the cropped version of those jeans too - and had to send the back the first time I tried them as pulled them up by the panel and they came away from the jeans

foxybrown · 05/04/2007 15:16

Captain Feathersword?!

foxybrown · 05/04/2007 15:23

at least no-ones fessing up to the bloke off boogie-beebies (currently on)

should go to park ...

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 05/04/2007 15:23

I don't know seansgirl, I don't watch the Wiggles I'm afraid! They really annoy me with their tight polo necks and their stupid hair! I'm still Paul's girl! Was watching him this morning and came over all swoony!!

Yes that is exactly what happened to my jeans. They completely came away from the fabric bit. I was gutted as I really liked them and they didn't have any in the warehouse to order me. My Vertbaudet ones haven't arrived yet, so I'm living in one skirt atm!!

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 05/04/2007 15:24

Boogie Pete? Sometimes I get the urge!

foxybrown · 05/04/2007 15:51

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooo

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 05/04/2007 16:18

What can I say, I like a man with no shame!!

foxybrown · 05/04/2007 16:24

But he's sort of short and square looking...

foxybrown · 05/04/2007 16:26

time to pick up last nights pj's off the living room floor

whats for tea?

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 05/04/2007 16:33

Haha foxy you are a slattern just like me! Dd's pj's are prob still on the sofa, can't remember coz I'm not at home!

Tea=PIZZA!!!!

Seansgirl · 05/04/2007 17:06

LOL What happended to no judgement Foxy? I think hes very cute. Hol, I kniw what you mean about Pete - tho physically not a good match for me, if we stood face to face he'd probably just reach my tits!

Seansgirl · 05/04/2007 17:12

Yes Hol, I have fought against DD having a Wiggles DVD have about 18 months but gave in when I needed a cheap one for the car when we went to Cornwall. I gave in thinking I don't have to watch it - but it is soooooooooo annnoying with their inane songs full blast at the back of head and I kid you not it must be the cheapest production ever it is truly abissmal (sp?)! It makes Hi-5 look like top quality viewing.....thinking about Hi-5 I quite like Tim, I bet everyone else likes Nathan.....

(Note to first timers....no matter that you say you won't watch kids telly or know the names you will, belive me!)

Seansgirl · 05/04/2007 17:12

Sorry for the crap typos!

Seansgirl · 05/04/2007 17:16

I think I am on my own here everyone else must being good parents/ partners and cooking.......better go and produce some nose bag too
