I have died and gone to heaven! Clarkson on QI.
All I need now is that food and a nice cool drink...

sputnik · 04/04/2007 11:03

Nannyjo, this must be really scary and stressful for you, hope you can hang on as long as possible. You shouldn't wait for your DH to take the initiative housework wise, they're incapable! Just order him around a bit, it's only for a few weeks.

Derlor, your ear explosion sounds incredibly painful, you poor thing. Hope it gets better soon.

You know if there's one thing I DON'T miss about the UK it's soggy chips from the chippy. Do you think they'll want my passport back?

sputnik · 04/04/2007 11:08

Don't know if I'll get a chance to post later, but in case I don't then happy birthday Mytwocents for tomorrow.

Probably won't be posting from Wales so happy easter everyone and see you in a week

foxybrown · 04/04/2007 11:10

Enjoy your trip Sputnik! Do try and catch up if you can - so are you in cardiff only?

Stock up on HP!

foxybrown · 04/04/2007 11:22

Morning all! How are you all today?? Good DH Seansgirl, when you say he 'offered' to get the chips, do you mean he was told??!!

whoop-dee-doo! Am getting a new buggy! That's so exciting for me!

Must be having a hormone surge, can't stop throwing up. yuk. feels like the early days again. Had a crappy nights sleep too.

Hope everyone is ok today.

foxybrown · 04/04/2007 11:26

anyone watching This Morning? They are talking about homebirths. Eamon holmes is a complete wanker. he shouldn't be allowed to express his ill-informed views.

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 04/04/2007 11:55

Poor foxy, are you ok? I've done loads of chores this morning so I think I deserve some computer time before lunch!! I don't watch this morning during the holidays, Eamonn and his dumb wife really piss me off! They were on the show about she who must not be named a few weeks ago and were singing her praises. They sounded like complete knobs! How exciting for you getting a new buggy!! What you gonna get?

Daisybump · 04/04/2007 12:55

Thanks for all the messages of support for my poor SIL. good news is that they have sent her home. Will call her later to get the goss, but DH tried to explain it but got lost with the names of pg lady bits....sounds like she has some kind of blood clot on the wall of her uterus which bleeds periodically. Bubs both fine and hearty and she is OK in herself...no dilation=no stitch. she'll be getting scanned every two weeks though so they can monitor the situation.

Ouch Derlor for you poor ear. I get earache a lot, and that's bad enough in itself.

Nannyjo....lots of ((((((((hugs)))))))being sent your way. I hope you can hang in for as long as possible.

Trace2...nice to see you back with us, and hope you are trying to stay positive...have you found out any more from the docs? (((((((hugs))))))) to you too.

Missed too much and pg brain struggling to read and retain all the posts...who is/was riabutterflew? is it mummyjx?

Its been a bit of a bloodbath here for the last few days.....DS split his lip yesterday (Nephew 1 kicked im in the face!!), then Nephew 2 fell off a wall and cut his hand. This morning (I'm in charge as Sis at work) nephew 2 tried to prize something open with his teeh and has knocked one of his front teeth wonky and there was blood everywhere, then as nephew 1 was doing his aikido moves with the garden rake, DS jumped off a bench and got whacked across the eyes....and now has a bit of a shiner. Nephew 1 has not a scrape on him . How some of you manage with three I don't know. Still freaking about impending doubling of the number of children I have to look after.

Yesterday's news I know, but the only thing to put on chip shop chips is the particulary east coast of Scotland tradition that is chippy sauce...it's brown sauce watered down with vinegar and different chippies have different blends, and is just deeelicious...with so much on that it soaks through the paper. You can but it in barrs glass bottles form them for re-creating the taste at home!!

I was knitting quite a bit, but my ribs have been getting so sore, that I can only lie flat on the sofa rather than sitting up which kind of hinders the creative process!! Also, heartburn has moved up to a whole new level and I've been having to get up in the night to take Gaviscon (bleargh)...just ate a whole packet of refreshers but they didn't work, but maybe that was because I washed them down with coke (sugar free, caffeine free variety)

Off to fix lunch now for three hungry boys, if I can prize them away from the evil Jetix.....

Daisybump · 04/04/2007 13:16

Foxy...empathise wiht you, I had a stint of throwing up last week, but it seems to have settled down again. Think it has a lot do with trying to cram too much into my increasingly squished up stomach . can only imagine how big I'm gonna be in another 9 weeks!!

foxybrown · 04/04/2007 13:24

ha ha ha Jetix IS evil.

But I don't care anymore!

Eurgh!

O, DD is drawing over cheques in my cheque book

foxybrown · 04/04/2007 13:24

ohh, got my money back from barclays as well. feel positively rich.

(am STILL farking well overdrawn )

Seansgirl · 04/04/2007 13:30

Haven't had chance to catch up on post yet to see whats happening. Have been to 28 week scan and consultant appt. basically LO is below the 10th percentile of the predicted growth chart, weight was estimated at 1.04Kg. I have had a doppler scan also which seemed fine and now have to go back next wed for another doppler scan and the following wed for weight scan. I can't remember all of what was said but further close monitoring there after with fluid asessemnt and monitoring I think (possibly daily). It seems that worst case scenario will be having LO before 37 weeks. At this point they have said thateven if everything is ok and I go to term they are not happy about home delivery, that is unless LO decides to beef up. Am not stressing as such just feel a bit in limbo and a bit numb as I don't know what to feel. Anyway am going off to absorb and reflect and will check in later when feeling morew chatty.

Love to everyone, and get well vibes to all that are feeling poorly. xx

Seansgirl · 04/04/2007 13:33

If you're around Lovely Marslady, not sure if my new email is working, sent you my details last night. Let me know if you don't get them.

mytwocents · 04/04/2007 14:20

Afternoon!
Wow daisy, hope you can deal with blood and have a full first aid box! Hope things start looking up for your sil too, sounds scary for you all.
Foxy you poor bean being sick, can you at least drink water?
Nanny, everything crossed for you hun, hope your lo stays put.
Ok need to moan- my ribs hurt!! and my pelvis and my back..moan moan... Have proper mat bra on, fitted by m&s s finest but I still want to take it off by lunchtime! Need to be more disciplined with excersise but SO tired after work.... SORRY! ok , moan over.
Sorry 'bout your ear trouble derlor, I've had loads of ear probs and they make you dizzy and feel sick, hope you feel better soon.

Ok may not be popular this but I just wanted to praise men for a change, well, mine anyway, He's just rung to ask what I fancy for tea as he's at the fishmongers, he's also taken over all the dealings with slimy moneygrabbing estate agents for our move( althuogh this is probably 'cause he's ashamed of ashamed of my shortness with them...) as well as cleaning the kitchen!!!
He has his faults but I'm feeling very lucky and looked after right now.

mytwocents · 04/04/2007 14:24

sorry to hear that seansgirl, how do you get a baby to put on weight? Hope your lo does though xxx

marylou23 · 04/04/2007 14:53

Hello all.
Seansgirl - really hope everything is okay. And hope your midwives etc are being supportive - I met with mine this morning and she measured me then raised an eyebrow and said 'well that's small'. Like, thanks. Really makes me feel better. ANd sorry to hear about everyone's heartburn/backache/nausea etc. I'm getting off pretty likely on that stuff fortunately (now I've said that it'll all go wrong, I know it...).
Anyway, here's to babies that grow BIG (in an easy to push out way... )
x

annobal · 04/04/2007 15:31

Hello all, been at the gym most of the day - not as conscienscious as it sounds as had los in playtime while i had breakfast then met some friends. My visitor for this afternoon has just cancelled on me so have the incredibles on and we're all sitting down having a rest.

Hope everyone is well - sorry about the ms foxy and hope it gets better by easter!

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 04/04/2007 16:25

Seansgirl, I hope you are ok, surely being on the 10th centile means that your baby is still within the "normal" range of size and although is small isn't off the chart, which I suppose is reassuring in a way. I hope lo puts on lots of nice chubby weight in the next few weeks so you can have a lovely serene homebirth.

Daisy I hope you are having a lovely time with your family, it certainly sounds eventful, if not relaxing! Hope mystic red ranger is well after his mishap!

Mytwocents you certainly have yours trained well..I need some tips please!!

I just slept for ages and feel much less of a cranky bitch cow from hell today! Hope everyone else is feeling ok x

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 04/04/2007 16:25

Marylou...pleeeease don't wish my baby big!! it's big enough already, already 2 weeks over the expected !

marylou23 · 04/04/2007 16:38

Medium sized babies. Lots of Mediums. That's what I meant...

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 04/04/2007 16:51

7-8lbers all round please!!

foxybrown · 04/04/2007 16:53

oh I'm sorry to hear that Seansgirl. But do try to remember that baby is in the range and its early days - its only now that they start to pile weight on. S/he might just be a little 'un! Not impossible about a homebirth which is good news. Even if you do have a hospital birth, all being well you could still go home from delivery suite and avoid the horridness that is post labour ward! Do they have a birth centre at your hospital? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

According to MV on monday my baby's only grown 1cm in 6 weeks. Am choosing to believe that she's just in a different position and curled up. They didn't mention it, I only realised when I checked the notes.

better get the tea on.

BadZelda · 04/04/2007 17:12

Wish I knew what's going on in my tummy... I can only assume that baby is growing at the right size - definitely an active little bugger. Sitting at desk and it feels like I have a mass of squirmy puppies in my lap. Plus people keep telling me I look 'huge' though I'm only 42" and it's all up front. Daughter was only 6.5lbs so not expecting a massive baby...still got a midwife appt in 2 weeks, so I should hopefully find out more then...

foxybrown · 04/04/2007 17:19

squirmy puppies - thats a great description BadZ! How much longer are you going to work for?

bumperlicious · 04/04/2007 17:38

Hi all

Not had a chance to read through yet, so happy vibes in advance to everyone. In answer to your lentil weaving question H&A I'm a quasi-hippy. I'm a semi eco warrier i.e. I wonder round the flat tutting as DH never turns off lights and recycle but happy to have 2 cars! And I love yoga and my yoga teacher, but only because he doesn't come out with all the dodgy stuff that I find a lot of yoga teachers come out with (like open your chest and it makes you a more OPEN person! Stretch your spine because that's where your emotions are! - No they are not, they are in your brain!), and I have been "attuned" to reiki so that I can perform reiki on my self and friend and family, yet not sure if I believe in it. My background is in psychology and neuroscience so I come at things from a very sciency angle, but then again Neals Yard and all their hippy stuff is one of my favourite shops. I'm very contrary!
