Ugh @glitterglitters I would not want to be getting in the car! They really should come to you. I know mine does for the first visit but they conveniently glossed over what would happen after that so perhaps I'll have to as well. Glad you are getting on with feeding :)
Currently sat in the car in the middle of my glucose tolerance test, next bloods in 20 mins. Midwife has said I won't have to change my birth plan unless sugars are ridiculously high, I just may need to stay in for 24 hours after the birth so the baby can be monitored.
1/5th palpable now! So fed up though, all the aches and pains and plenty of night time cramps. Sleep, what is sleep....? 😴

AnnaL82 · 07/07/2017 10:42

Congratulations @glitterglitters and @Twixes!
Stephen Nicholas is also here and I'm waiting to see him - anaesthetist preferred general anaesthesia for me, due to my neurological condition she didn't want to touch spinal cord.

glitterglitters · 07/07/2017 10:46

Oh @AnnaL82 he's gorgeous! Well done ❤️❤️❤️❤️ hope you get to have loads of squidgy cuddles asap ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

@Algebraic fingers crossed! I definitely had them come out with my first. Thankfully I feel okay at the moment (showered, fed, watered, need to take some ibuprofen though) but dh is exhausted and he'll be driving. Plus we have to take the toddler as well as fil is at work.
Confused

ButterflyFree · 07/07/2017 10:49

Congratulations @AnnaL82 he's so cute!! Hope you recover well and get to snuggle with him asap 💙

Good luck with the GTT test @Algebraic - fingers crossed the results will be in range and you won't have to alter your birth plan. I didn't find the liquid that bad but the waiting around to take bloods for 3 hours wasn't much fun!

@glitterglitters Sounds like you've got a little guzzler on your hands 😂 it'll be so interesting for you to note all the differences (and similarities) between DD1 and 2 now. Seems pretty rough that you have to make your own way to the midwife just a day after giving birth... hope the journeys aren't too uncomfortable for you.

glitterglitters · 07/07/2017 10:52

I've just read my notes and actually it's NIPE checks we have to go in for. Apparently the midwife will call me today to come see me.

So many appointments 🙈

rhodes2015 · 07/07/2017 11:11

cat hope you're enjoying your last day!
anna congratulations he is so beautiful! 💙 Well done!
goosey yep same here very frustrated although I haven't really had any false starts.... 3days overdue and feel nothing! Sick of overanalysing every twinge!
flappergirl I will be induced the day after you if nothing happens before.
Still going to decline next weeks sweep I think, unless I can majorly physc myself up for it between now and Tuesday!

nat2311 · 07/07/2017 11:33

Congratulations @AnnaL82 he's gorgeous! Hopefully it won't be to long before you get your snuggles!

I'm also analysing every cramp and tightening thinking that it's something starting! Trying my best to not think about it to much. Going to get my hair done this afternoon so looking forward to the relax and me time!

@glitterglitters What's a nipe test? The midwives here come out to us luckily

@glitterglitters good thing you didn't set off anywhere!

@AnnaL82 hello and welcome to the world baby Stephen! Gorgeous!

I have a sweep booked for my due date. I may even shock horror have sex and see if that helps! Poor DH has been an incredibly patient (albeit) frustrated man these last few months.

Spindelina · 07/07/2017 12:20

Having a quick lunch break - my last day at work too! Busy busy! How's it going @CatRash?

Congratulations, Anna! I hope you get your cuddles soon.

glitterglitters · 07/07/2017 12:42

Spoke to the midwife. All over the phone but as we were going to the hospital she was happy with my answers etc.

NIPE tests are for checking joints and things I think. We had them done at birth and 3 days with dd. We're able to leave eldest with grandad now so baby will be making her first trip to the supermarket. Ooh Grin

HaichM · 07/07/2017 14:08

Congrats Anna

Will keep my fingers crossed for you algebraic

Goosey: that's been me too this week - last two days full of all the things you mentioned then it stopped. Bh at 4 this morning and then nothing. Since I'm only 36 weeks, I'm worried I've got weeks and weeks of this to go Sad.

I've also found it worse in the evenings

LuciBee231015 · 07/07/2017 14:43

Hi ladies, sorry for radio silence!!

We welcomed George 💙 to the world on Monday 03.07.17 at 18.18 weighing 7lbs 13.

Contractions started at about 5.30pm on Sunday, lasted at home until around 11.30pm and left for the hospital. Midwife lead unit was full sonhad to go to delivery suite. Managed to get to 10cm dilated by around 3pm on Monday with just gas and air and then spend the next 2 and a half hours pushing with no luck. Turns out baby kept switching positions. They tried suction cup (can't remember what it's called) and failed, tried forceps with no pain relief as he was literally there, then went theatre to try again with a spinal block as I screamed the place down. Then ended up with emergency c section. Was all very traumatic but we are both doing well.

He is absolutely gorgeous.

My nips are like razor blades and I have had about 3 hours sleep since as he is literally feeding non stop at the minute which is tough!

Hope you are all well, I need to go back and catch up on messages as haven't had a chance to read any!

LuciBee231015 · 07/07/2017 14:47

Congrats to Glitters and all of the other new arrivals! Hope everyone is doing well! THe pics are beautiful ❤️

We did it!!

ButterflyFree · 07/07/2017 14:49

Oh @LuciBee231015 so happy to hear from you! Congratulations on the birth of baby George 💙 Sorry to hear you had a traumatic birthing experience but I'm sure once he was in your arms it was all worth it. Well done you xx

nat2311 · 07/07/2017 15:07

@LuciBee231015 glad to hear you're both ok! Congratulations! Sounds like you were a complete trooper though!! 💙💙

Congratulations and well done @Lucibee231015 fantastic news 💙

Spindelina · 07/07/2017 15:41

Congratulations, Luci! Sounds like you've been through the wringer though.

I'm freeeeeeee!

Lallypopstick · 07/07/2017 15:41

Lots of love to Luci and Anna - hope everyone is feeling well and you're enjoying lots of baby cuddles.

Spindelina hope the last day at work has gone well. My last day is now looking like next Thursday - the day before due date!

Spindelina · 07/07/2017 16:13

My due date isn't until Tuesday - you're cutting it even finer than me!

HaichM · 07/07/2017 16:17

Luci: sorry it was a bit traumatic but glad you are both well and hope the feeding settles down soon

Twixes · 07/07/2017 17:12

@LuciBee231015 congratulations on baby George. You poor thing having them try forceps with no pain relief, that in itself would be traumatic, never mind all the rest! I hope you make a speedy recovery from it all.

My milk has just come in...woo! Little lady is absolutely conked out from it. So cute.

TinklingTheIvories · 07/07/2017 17:21

Yay more babies!!

Officially started my holiday now (maternity leave starts in a week) so I'm not in work for over a year (with holidays either side)

glitterglitters · 07/07/2017 17:21

Oh @LuciBee231015 you trooper! Pleased George is well (love his name ❤️). Hopefully you'll have a swift recovery!

Ooh @Twixes I love a milk drink baby face 😂 Currently pinned to the sofa feeding this sort whilst dh and fil go get us fish and chips. 👌🏼

Hope everybody is well xxx

glitterglitters · 07/07/2017 17:22

Side note: we've obviously told our family but I really cba to tell any of our mates yet 😂 I'm loving my little bubble right now 🙈

ButterflyFree · 07/07/2017 17:35

@glitterglitters What, you mean we're not your mates...? Hmph 😤

Protect that bubble for as loooong as you want to. This is your precious bonding (and recovery) time.
