Thanks glitters. I've pulled myself together now and getting myself some sunshine in the garden and feeling a bit better. Just need to stop fixating on it and get on as normal. Just would love to try a birthing pool and won't be able to if I get induced on Wednesday but what will be will be and as long as baby is ok that's all that matters. I'm not allowed to complain any longer!

glitterglitters · 02/07/2017 15:26

Whatever happens @LuciBee231015 the main thing is there will be a lovely little baby at the end of it ❤️but I'm exactly the same so don't blame you.

Oh @Algebraic that doesn't sound fun at all. Hopefully it'll ease up sharpish.

I managed to fall asleep in the bath today so dh is now paranoid I will drown myself unintentionally 🙈

Need2morehands · 02/07/2017 18:04

I'm feeling the same lucibee I had my heart set on the pool but if go in Wednesday for my induction I won't be either but I'm not taking my bikini out of my bag yet just incase I go beforehand.

Twixes · 03/07/2017 07:03

Lol to the Canadian flag! All good with my bp, I'd had an appointment on Friday where my bp was high so they brought me back in yesterday for another check. All normal and I was out within an hour. I blame the narky old cow at the ATM who wouldn't let me go ahead of her as I was in a rush for pushing my bp up on Friday! She also gave me a lecture about my parking...I'm clearly 9 months pregnant you'd think she'd have a bit of sympathy?!

How was last night @LuciBee231015 ? 9 days over...no wonder you're fed up!

My toddler is awake since 4.50am!!!! 😫 I'm going to be wrecked later. He was awake at 5.20 yesterday...why does he decide to do this days before our new arrival? Waaaah. I'm pretty sure he's getting his big back molars and they're waking him. Think he'll be going to crèche early so I can get some sleep in

glitterglitters · 03/07/2017 07:16

Oh god! There must be something in the air at the moment @Twixes as my toddler has been waking up very early. Thankfully going to grandad's this morning whilst I have some reflexology. Hoping for a miracle but not expecting it lol.

I woke up last night in agony but only because I keep pulling muscles in my hips and abdomen as I sleep. Nearly gave dh a heart attack screeching at 4am Blush

How's everybody doing anyway? Is anybody still working? I've still got about 4/5 articles I planned to do before the baby arrived. Writers block much! Confused

glitterglitters · 03/07/2017 07:22

Also ATM lady sounds like a twonk.

TinklingTheIvories · 03/07/2017 08:01

I've had a couple of bad nights sleep recently, but last night was ok. Luckily.

I'm still working - though feel like a part-timer! I'm only in Tuesday / Thursday / Friday this week then I'm done.

I've got a consultant appointment and growth scan on Thursday morning so we'll see what they say about induction then. Hopefully won't be kept in

Finalising the hospital bags today (37+1 so left it later than most of you!) just in case. I think by not do by them sooner, I was in denial as to what was going to be happening. I like being pregnant. It's the uncertainty of what's coming that I'm not sure on, but I've realised i can't delay the inevitable, baby Tinkling could be here any day so I need to get a wriggle on (like it's currently doing!)

Spindelina · 03/07/2017 08:02

There's light at the end of the toddler waking tunnel - my nearly five year old is a complete slave to her gro clock (set for 7am).

I'm worked by a few days this week - finish Friday lunch time. Mainly clearing my desk though!

Spindelina · 03/07/2017 08:04

Tinkling my hospital bag had its first pack at 36+6, so not that far off! It's got more non-essentials in now as well.

glitterglitters · 03/07/2017 08:28

@Spindelina ours works really well. It's just my daft husband has set it for 5:55 Hmm

Twixes · 03/07/2017 08:51

Must invest in a groclock...from what age do they get the concept? DS is 20 months.

I was the same @TinklingTheIvories, very late with my bag and I remembered a few more bits yesterday.

Spindelina · 03/07/2017 09:12

We got DDs groclock for night weaning at 15mo - started with it set at 2am and then put it forward an hour every night. It didn't stop her waking, but she did sort of understand that everything changed when the sun came up, which (with the addition of a good dose of bribery) has ended up with us being rarely disturbed before 7.

That's about to change though Shock Grin

Mawita · 03/07/2017 11:14

Ladies! Pos last day at work, baby shower on sat and a relaxing picnic day watching the Thames. My waters broke last night, in labour ward, epidural in and 1cm to go! Xx

3.5 weeks early I'm 37+3

glitterglitters · 03/07/2017 11:37

Oooh!!! Good luck @Mawita !!! They didn't hang about did they? Grin

Twixes · 03/07/2017 11:47

Wow that's awesome @Spindelina. If we could consistently get to even 6.30 I'd be happy. In fairness his usual wake up time is mostly 5.50/6.00am so not the worst and he's so easy to put to bed at night that I shouldn't really complain!

Just got another bit of sleep there so feeling a bit more human. My plan for today is batch cook a big fish pie 🐟 and potter about doing some cleaning :)

Twixes · 03/07/2017 13:32

Best of luck @Mawita! Puuuuuush! Grin

rhodes2015 · 03/07/2017 14:04

Good luck mawita how exciting!

mynameisntLinda · 03/07/2017 14:34

@mrsmingo nice to join us. I read your first post and chuckled when you said it was your first "touch wood" as if you werent sure if youd had one before haha

@glitterglitters i too have said i want time for us as a familt first but some people seem to think theyre exempt. Ill just not be answering the door. I live in a 3 story house with my living room upstairs so no one can peek through my windows to check if im in lmao. I still get pissed off when people say how tired i looked first time. Well no shit sherlock. I had a newborn that fed every 1.5hours and you fuckers kept turning up to visit when i was trying to nap!!

@gooseygoosey12345 nice of you to join us too :) is your first a girl then?
We do have a private facebook group as well so if you want to join just message me.

mynameisntLinda · 03/07/2017 14:45

Oops mossed the whole last page
@tinklingtheivories hope scan is all ok on thursday for you. I onky just packed mine and im 38 weeks. Its a just in case bag so its only one hold all but it did make me realise we had nothing in newborn size so i made a couple extra purchases today whilst i was out.

@spindelina i have much love for the groe clock. My 2 year old is very excited if he wakes up and its already yellow and the sun winking night night defo helped with bedtime lol
@twixes we started using ours before ds turned 2. Maybe about 20 months ish. He doesnt sleep through anyway and usually comes and sleeps with me at some point in the night but it stops him wanting to actually get up and have breakfast etc. And it also helped when i was reducing breastfeeding because my nipples have been agony at certain points in this pregnancy. So now he knows he only gets "mummy milk" when its yellow. Which hopefully will stop newborn jelousy over the boobs too :/
@mawita ooo birth annoincement soon :D

glitterglitters · 03/07/2017 15:40

Just had the midwife and what a let down that was.

After telling me quite categorically she wasn't going to give me a sweep (despite telling me last time otherwise) I then tried to have a conversation about the slightly negative reaction I'd had trying to get to the MLU the other day and trying to discuss going to the further away hospital (where dh can stay if I'm induced and post partum) if I need to be induced.

Needless to say all the conversations went down like a tonne of bricks. I wasn't rude but I just said that the place where I'd ended up at the big hospital I didn't like the atmosphere and it made me a bit anxious. I said I couldn't fault the staff (I could but I wouldn't have) and she just got a bit "well sometimes the mlu is full and you have to go where you're given"

Dh picked me up and I just started to cry. I felt so deflated after psyching myself up for a sweep and having a frank conversation (which I don't think was unreasonable. Was IBU?)

Now I've got to wait till at least 41+2 for the possibility of a sweep. Sad

mynameisntLinda · 03/07/2017 16:42

@glitterglitters how far are you now?
If you want to go to the further away hospital just call them when youre in labour and turn up there. They very rarely refuse you. Imagine you were staying nearby to the other hospital...would they expect you to drive somewhere else just because thats where youre booked in.
Also, id say that anxiety about being alone is defo cause for them allowing the other hospital. When i was transferred in for stitches i said either dh woukd need to stay with me or id just go home. They didnt want me to go home due to concerns over feeding so put me in my own room with dh allowed to sleep on the floor (and he dared to complain about a bad nights sleep lol)

glitterglitters · 03/07/2017 16:46

Today is my due date. This would literally be if I want an induction (which I will probably go for at 12 days over).

Anything like normal labour I'm just standing firm and making them open the mlu. Don't care if it's inconvenient, what's the point of having a million quid mlu if you won't open it for a woman in labour. They made me feel shitty on the phone when we called last week about even suggesting that I'd prefer to go there.

Nobody I know has had a positive experience at the big hospital either and several of their partners have missed the birth because they've not been listened to Sad

I'm sure it'll all be fine but for a system that bangs on about tailoring birth to be stress free (and thus less complications) it doesn't seem likely. Plus they were so quick to try and shove drugs at me. Not fun.

glitterglitters · 03/07/2017 16:48

Speaking of which how are you going @LuciBee231015 xxxx

Algebraic · 03/07/2017 16:58

@Mawita how exciting! Looking forward to the birth announcement soon!

Oh @glitterglitters :( I don't get this at all, so they have a MLU but it's always shut?! It's my fear too about ending up on Delivery suite and DH being forced to go home. And why say you can have a sweep and then say no? You're at date now so why not....

rhodes2015 · 03/07/2017 17:06

glitter that's crap!

My due date is tomorrow. I'm meant to be having a sweep Wednesday morning.
