@glitterglitters sorry you're having a rough time. Come on baby glitters!

@LuciBee231015 I was inspired by you to book reflexology for this morning. My friend had recommended acupuncture but I have had lots of foot massages in Thailand and thought it would be much more relaxing. Really want to get baby moving before induction on Monday!

@Notyetthere so glad things are gone by better for you with the feeding, you sound much happier.

@ButterflyFree sounds tricky with your mum - stick to your guns though. My mum is a bit like that sometimes but she always gets over it. It must be hard enough without your DH.

I was really hoping to not tell people when I go into labour and then be like - ta da baby is here! But with induction we'll have to tell family. Mine will be fine but I've told DH his family are not to turn up until invited and not
To contact us to ask if baby is here. I know they are just excited but they are a bit much. FIL turned down some cricket tickets at the weekend in case the baby arrives! I said it will still be here after the cricket!

Seahawk I'm desperately hoping that something happens today or tonight off the back of the reflexology, booked for another sweep tomorrow and would love for it to happen before then! I'm being induced on Wednesday so reeeeeewally want it to happen before then!

Seahawk80 · 29/06/2017 07:31

I have a sweep tomorrow too @LuciBee231015 - hopefully it gets us both moving! I've also planned a lovely weekend, date night Friday, cinema and chilled day Saturday with a long walk to try to get things moving and then lunch at a country pub and visit my sister / niece and nephew Sunday. Hopefully it will tempt fate and if not we'll have a lovely last weekend just the 2 of us!

Spindelina · 29/06/2017 08:08

not I am so glad to hear that the group was useful and that she's latching on that side. Onwards and upwards!

glitter, all the best for today. What will be will be.

Effy1990 · 29/06/2017 08:28

So glad to hear about all the births already!
Does anyone have any advice on getting a baby to drop? This is my 1st pregnancy and am 38 weeks and fed up of being unable to breath, my babys bum in my ribs, my boobs resting on my bump and when I last saw my midwife at 37 weeks she couldn't believe it was still so high.

I've carried high my whole pregnancy but I'm just bloody fed up now!

LuciBee231015 · 29/06/2017 09:13

Effy, bouncing on birthing ball is supposed to be good for getting baby into position. Swaying on all 4's is supposed to help too? Although these babies tend to do what they want lol

Algebraic · 29/06/2017 10:42

I feel your pain @Effy1990 I've only just started to drop these last few days at 37 weeks. Previously bump was so high my boobs were just sat on top and I felt like a pregnant orangutan 😂🙈 what Luci said with the bouncing. Long walks supposedly but I can't face those....

glitterglitters · 29/06/2017 10:46

It's all gone quiet in the glitter household now.

I think that I'm now "in it for long run"

Hmm

Ah well. Serves me right for getting overexcited. Lol

LuciBee231015 · 29/06/2017 11:04

Oh glitters, I got excited as you'd gone quiet for a bit. Same for me, all quiet. Had a few pains during the night and some period cramps this morning. But nothing to report 🙄

Reflexology (if successful) is meant to start you off within 48 hours, so there's still time. Been getting quite a lot of fanny daggers since. My second sweep is at 2pm tomorrow.

I just really don't want to be induced on Wednesday!!

glitterglitters · 29/06/2017 11:12

I was meant to have reflexology yesterday but had to cancel because my mil wasn't going to be able to have my daughter in time.

I've got a sweep Monday (had an attempted one yesterday ) and they'll induce me on the 15th.

One good thing though is that now dh understands why I don't want to go to the local big hospital and why I want to go to the further away one for an induction.

They didn't even read my notes. Tried to give me drugs straight off the hip (even to send me home!) and there weren't any windows!

@mynameisntLinda definitely a moment for being bloody minded doncha think? Grin

glitterglitters · 29/06/2017 11:13

And @LuciBee231015 I've got everything crossed for you. I thought you'd gone really quiet Grin

Effy1990 · 29/06/2017 11:14

I've been bouncing on a ball for the last week or more, sometimes it feels like it causes the baby to move higher up. Then I realise it isn't possible unless the baby decides to relocate my lungs 😂

I understand the whole pregnant orangutan look. I miss being able to wear more then one pair of shoes as I can't bend down to put them on!

I've been wanting this baby for years, and never expected to be turning round and pretty much saying from 35 weeks, just get this out of me, I've had enough!

glitterglitters · 29/06/2017 11:16

It's crazy isn't it? You spend your life actively avoiding pain and then you're willing it upon yourself Grin

Algebraic · 29/06/2017 11:22

July 2017 #6 - labour here we come
glitterglitters · 29/06/2017 11:25

@Algebraic 😂

Effy1990 · 29/06/2017 11:34

Yeah, I have a fear of anything causing myself pain and I'm willing pain on myself, it doesn't make any sense!

Hope things are progressing for you glitter

glitterglitters · 29/06/2017 11:45

Thanks @Effy xxx

nat2311 · 29/06/2017 12:37

@Algebraic how did you find that picture of me 😂 genuinely so accurate!

I've been up since about 1am with waves of period cramps every 15 mins but they're not getting worse or any closer together 😡 the pains are manageable but the fanny daggers seem to have changed to a different pain if that makes any sense.

@glitterglitters sorry it's gone quiet for you but hopefully you'll be more relaxed for the rest of the day til dh is home.

@LuciBee231015 I still have everything crossed that the reflexology has done the trick!

@Effy1990 bouncing on the ball is about the only comfy position for me. I'm 38+1 and definitely ready for him to come out!

Very glad to hear the breastfeeding is going well @Notyetthere!!

Starting to think I'm the only one happy for baby to stay put for a little while longer!!

I've still got another week at work for starters and feel like there's so much I'd like to do at home before baby arrives that I'm happy for nothing to happen until 39 weeks plus!!

Although I am starting to feel uncomfortable and tired it's not quite unbearable yet and I only had to get up for one week last night #winning

(Remind me I said all of this in 1-2 weeks time and am praying for baby to vacate my uterus Grin)

glitterglitters · 29/06/2017 13:22

lol I was like this about a week ago but it's grating on me now.

Obviously I want them to be happy and healthy mainly but I'm ready for them to be out now definitely!

Twixes · 29/06/2017 13:26

Lol to the orangutan!! I can relate- it even has my gross outie belly button.

@glitterglitters and @LuciBee231015 argh these babies are keeping you on your toes. Hopefully you got a bit of sleep last night? I think an ideal labour would be for it to start at 8am and for the baby to be born around lunch time. None of this through the night hell I had with DS!

My nesting urge has eased considerably...all I want to do is nap...

Did a massive food shop yesterday with the intention of getting dinners organised for when I'm in hospital, can't be bothered now. The thought of cooking a load of dinners is not remotely appealing.

glitterglitters · 29/06/2017 13:28

lol I know right @Twixes it's like any good intentions we had to be "organised" are well and truly gone.

Dh has just got home. We're going to go in the car to get nappies for the toddler and I'm going to get myself some sort of huge fuck off indulgent treat for now.

Also try and find something I can use on this headache as well. Paracetamol amount is being very close to being reached Sad

Spindelina · 29/06/2017 13:51

CatRash I finish on 7th July, then I'm singing in a concert on the 8th. I'd like a few days off then, so some time after the 15th or so would suit me. DDs birthday is the 24th, so that's my other date to avoid!

glitter, enjoy your treat!

HaichM · 29/06/2017 14:01

Yay to naps! I am so tired and I'm not doing anything. I'd be so annoyed if I had the energy but I'm going for another lie down before I pick up DS from school and try to be productive in some way.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you glitters.

mrsclaus100 · 29/06/2017 14:23

Afternoon all, I have been a quieter one on this group but I have been reading with interest for all you that are having your babies or getting exciting signs.

I'm just after some advice, I'm due on Saturday (so that makes me 39+5 today) this is my third baby so you'd think I knew what I was doing but it seems not! I'm trying to work out whether this is the start of things today.......
All started off ok, other than a very strange dizzy spell whilst driving my little one to the childminder - had to pull the car over and wait while it passed. Then went home and grouted some tiles would you believe! Then stopped to have some lunch and since then have been getting very uncomfortable tummy tightenings. The pain starts in the top of the bump which is weird as I've never had this before. It then travels to lower down the bump and into my back. My tummy goes very hard at the same time. It feels like a braxton hicks contraction with a tummy ache thrown in also. The thing that's confusing me is that there is no obvious start or finish to them so I'm not able to time them. Also, having started the day with constipation (sorry tmi) I have since had to go 3 or 4 times which is very unlike me. Ive just taken two paracetamol and seeing what happens. Anyone else every had very very long lasting tightenings like these?
