Morning ladies! I'm quite excited today.. it's the halfway point for me.. I want to say I'm on the downhill but I suspect there's some uphill still left Grin

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 12/07/2017 08:57

@Peachi82 If the lump is unyielding and remains present all the time, I believe it's the top of your growing uterus 🙂

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 12/07/2017 08:59

Yay @glastogal ! Surreal to think we now have less time ahead than behind us! 🤞

ScotsLamb · 12/07/2017 09:50

I wasn't awake at 5.15 this morning after a horrendous dream involving thousands of masked men with machine guns in my wee town. When I tried to phone 999 (in my dream) they were just playing Radio 2. Very bizarre.
Midwife appointment today then dr appointment to see about liquid antibiotic.
Do I need to take a urine sample to the midwife?

Brens13 · 12/07/2017 09:56

I had to give a urine sample at my midwife appointment yesterday. And she gave me another pot for next time.
Very weird dream....I do love a bizarre dream, haven't remembered any of mine for a while.

CheesecakeAddict · 12/07/2017 11:22

I am cheering myself up by filling in my maternity leave application. Grin

Peachi82 · 12/07/2017 11:52

Ah, ok, it might be the top of the uterus then. I'll keep watching it!

I had an appointment with HR yesterday and sorted out the dates for my maternity leave. I've decided I'll deffo take a year off :-) it'll mean 2 months unpaid, but that's OK. I get ordinary maternity leave for the first 6 months (full pay), so I can save up a little bit.

Aaaaaand, I've calculated... With the rest of my holiday and with a two weeks course I'm going to, it's only 69 days of normal work! I will survive 69 days! Tschakka!

@ScotsLamb That was a strange dream! 😮

@Peachi82 That's a great scheme 🙂 You will definitely survive that countdown!

CheesecakeAddict · 12/07/2017 12:07

Oh wow that is exciting peachi.

I am going at 38 weeks pregnant and taking 6 months off. Grin this is so exciting. It's like another milestone on the way to getting baby.

Peachi82 · 12/07/2017 12:30

I'm finishing a month before my due date. I need a little rest and also wouldn't know when to sort the things for the baby, when to do some batch cooking and all this.
And yes, a year off, will go back to work in January 2019 (unless my employer decides to employ someone else for the remainder of my fixed term contract, then I'll be looking for a new job after the year off). My boyfriend supports this as well and I think I'll need it.

Weird dreams: I dreamt I had two pierced belly buttons :-D but lost the piercing on one of them. When I woke up, I had to check whether my actual piercing in my only belly button is still in.

Jivebunny89 · 12/07/2017 12:41

I will be working until my due date, however my business slows down organically around that time of year anyway, so might not have much to do.

Starting to show now. Still not announced it.

ScotsLamb · 12/07/2017 12:42

Peachi that's a fab scheme you are on.

I'll get 3 months full pay. So aiming to go back to work for new term in August. If we can bump it further back then we will but looks unlikely.

Had midwife appointment this morning. Tested my urine and says I won't need to take any more of my antibiotics that I'm throwing up anyway! Also got to hear heart beat. 140 bpm.

I'm much happier now I've heard it and know that all is well. Now need to remember the stats of miscarriage risk is less than 1% now. All is going to be fine.

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 12/07/2017 16:24

I'm with you on that @ScotsLamb! Not taking anything for granted but it's good to have perspective so we're not just fearful all the time!

feelingcalledlove · 12/07/2017 18:33

Yep, completely agree, have to keep remembering how much better the stats are at this stage than 10 or so weeks ago!

Thanks for the link Brens that looks super-comfy...

Thewinedidit · 12/07/2017 20:07

peachi 6 months full pay is amazing. I get 6 weeks. I think I need to change professions!

Mrsbluebell17 · 12/07/2017 20:28

Thewine I just get SMP so I'll only be taking around 6-7 months off I think. Although it's hard to know for definite at the moment I think.

Miami81 · 12/07/2017 20:38

Just statutory for me as well. I think we will manage to stretch it out til September hopefully and then probably most of my backlog annual leave at that point too. It all depends on when I go off on Mat leave. Refusing to think about it at the moment.

Peachi82 · 12/07/2017 21:23

I didn't want to brag, so sorry. I thought it was kind of similar for everyone. I am University staff, so maybe they have a quite good scheme then. On the other hand I hardly ever have job security... I'm at 34 now and on a 2 year contract which is the longest contract I ever had in my entire career... It always kind of went on and I found another job, but you have always in the back of your mind that you will be redundant in a few months time if nothing comes up. You get used to it though...

ScotsLamb · 12/07/2017 21:54

Peachi you were not bragging at all. No need to apologise.

Hope everyone is feeling a bit better. We finally got a sunny day today :) Spent lots of pennies in Next, Mamas and Papas as well as John Lewis, See what hearing babies heartbeat does to my bank balance.

Thewinedidit · 12/07/2017 21:56

You're not bragging at all. I would love it if 6 months was standard across the board. But I'd rather be off on maternity getting SMP and hang out with my baby than be working anyway!

ScotsLamb · 13/07/2017 10:06

No 4am updates?? Does that mean it was an all the way through night for everyone?

There were no gun wielding nutters in my dreams last night 😊

CarlottaJo · 13/07/2017 10:09

Hello All! Long time no see, been a naughty Facebooker and not popped on here for ages! Yay to all the lovely gender news, team pink and blue definitely evening out! I wonder what's in me?! Lazy something that doesn't want to give Mammy a reassuring prod! Anyone else movement free at 18 weeks? Heard them yesterday so they are there haha. Scan 24th July xx

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 13/07/2017 11:32

@ScotsLamb Took me ages to get to sleep but when I did I slept pretty soundly (apart from a couple of pee breaks and a shock from a bad dream) for about 5 hours. Strange strange dreams though, including one where my mother and baby outfits were involved - can't remember quite what but it was a feeling of danger and fear that woke me! 😕

tuxedocat · 13/07/2017 11:36

V jealous of all your maternity leave dates! I work in a family business and only one who does my job so likely I'll have about 4-6 weeks off. Thankfully we slow down over Xmas and Jan so hopefully I can get to grips in time! Luckily, I can bring baby to work or work from home so we'll figure it out.

Felt some stronger baby kicks today, such a reassuring feeling Grin
