Thanks to those who replied about my sleeping concerns. Really reassuring to have such detailed feedback. Thank you! Hopefully I'll sleep better tonight as don't have quite such an early start tomorrow.

So, those who have felt movement, where abouts do you feel the movement, is it all low in your stomach or mixed areas? I keep thinking I feel something but it's so faint I thing I'm imagining it?!!

Carley I've also been put on aspirin but purely based on my mothers history of high blood pressure during pregnancy - I have just started taking it last week at 16+6 as that's when I got it. I didn't Google side effects or what can happen from it - maybe I should've done. Although reading Bisquick's response I'm glad it's the lower dose I'm taking.

ScotsLamb · 04/07/2017 23:13

On word: snoring!! Is it fair to give a hard kick then deny all knowledge?

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 04/07/2017 23:25

@Mrsbluebell17 Generally halfway between my belly button and my pubic line, but it does seem pretty random (high, low, left, right).

glastogal · 05/07/2017 05:27

@Mrsbluebell17 I always feel mine in the same place at the moment.. lower left side of my bump, usually when lying on my back (this is for nudges, never been sure where flutters are located!)

CheesecakeAddict · 05/07/2017 05:52

Oh no carley that must be such a worry. I suppose on the one hand though at least you've had your scan so you know the baby is fine even though you haven't been taking asprin

Miami81 · 05/07/2017 06:54

@ScotsLamb I just wake him. Don't see why I should have to lie awake listening to that. But he tells me to.

Zaberwocky · 05/07/2017 06:59

I really need to try harder with keeping up! Grin so you're not the only one Tootsy!

I hope everyone survives the heat today!

Miami81 · 05/07/2017 06:59

Mrsbluebell
I was lying in a bit of a dream state yesterday morning with my hand on my right side of belly. I am sure I felt movement, it sounds like what @dirtygrubbybikerchick experienced in that it was a total alien moment and must have been the baby turning over or something. I wouldn't have felt it if my hand hadn't been resting there, if that makes sense.
I am 15+3 at the mo, but because of funny shaped uterus baby is all packed into right hand side so I figure that's why I am picking up some movements now.
Haven't felt kicks or flutters yet, I think.

Mrsbluebell17 · 05/07/2017 07:23

Morning everyone. I think I have you all to thank for the fact that I finally slept well last night Grin long may it continue!!

Thanks for the replies re movement too. I still haven't felt anything. I feel a lot of twinges and things higher up which I'm presuming is everything moving moving around organ wise to make space for my orange sized baby inside me HmmSmile. Wondering if the fact I can't feel anything related to the fact they told me I have a tilted uterus towards the back. Anyone else been told this?

Have midwife appointment this morning so fingers crossed we can hear the heartbeat. What else happens at the 16 week MW appointment? Anymore blood tests etc?

Private scan at the weekend to hopefully find out the gender. Presuming at this stage I don't have drink a mass of water before I go in for the scan?

Oysterbabe · 05/07/2017 07:26

It's still so early for movement, don't worry.
They didn't do heartbeat at my 16w appointment, just blood pressure, urine test and sticking my blood test results in my book.

Mrsbluebell17 · 05/07/2017 07:47

Ooooh oyster it's a good job you said about the urine test as I totally forgot I'd been given a pot to fill ready! Thanks for reminding me.
Oh that's ok then, nothing too detailed for today?!

Also someone told me you get a letter at some stage or a form that confirms your pregnancy that you can give to your employer. I've never heard of this? Anyone know anymore? I'll ask this morning too at my appointment but I thought I'd ask you all first.

Mrsbluebell17 · 05/07/2017 07:48

I'm actually 17+4 for this appointment, as it was a bit behind anyway and then my dates got moved at my dating scan Smile.

So exciting for being 18 weeks and hopefully finding out the gender this weekend Grin

glastogal · 05/07/2017 07:50

Sounds like the Mat1B form.. I think it gets issued some time after the anomaly scan.. its on the timeline at the front of your notes mrsB. I don't really know anything about it though!!

Oysterbabe · 05/07/2017 07:53

Yeah you can request the MatB form after 20 weeks. Your employer need it by 25 weeks.

Mrsbluebell17 · 05/07/2017 08:09

Thanks glasto and oyster.

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 05/07/2017 08:18

Yay for the sleep @Mrsbluebell17 ! Have fun at your appointment today 🙂 Hope you get to hear Little Bluebell's heartbeat 😄

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 05/07/2017 08:23

And so I catch a glimpse of the joys that await me... turns out the SC had nits which their mother failed to tell us about until AFTER we had them here last week, and we spent last night washing, combing and treating ourselves for nits (and we definitely have them...). I hate sleeping with "dirty" hair anyway and, because the treatment is like an oil, I spent the whole night tossing and turning and feeling very hot and uncomfortable. Not a happy Biker today... 😣

Lixon · 05/07/2017 10:06

Ooh biker nits do not sound fun, as you say a small glimpse of what is ahead for all of us 😳

I also have a retroverted uterus mrsbluebell 🙋🏻 but I was told it was correct itself as the baby grows so is normal position by around 12w I think. I think placenta position is more important for early movement. Good luck this morning, I requested s heartbeat listen at my 16w appointment and the midwife happily obliged despite warning me we might not hear, I understand it's hit and miss if they'll offer it so early.

I also felt like I might have felt a movement yesterday half asleep after prodding my tummy a lot - will try again tonight 😀

ScotsLamb · 05/07/2017 10:15

Now that my nausea seems to have settled down I feel like I have no symptoms at all. No sore boobs. No movements. I'm not sure I'm a fan of this stage as I feel like I'm back to 8 weeks again and worried that everything is ok.
Think I'm having a worry day today.

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 05/07/2017 10:41

Not easy @ScotsLamb but try not to worry. I get days like that too and still cling on to the mantra from another group - "Today I am pregnant". In absence of any negative sign, that's what we've got to have faith in, right? 🤗

Thewinedidit · 05/07/2017 11:08

bisquick have you tried some dry eye drops. It's not uncommon to get dry eye especially if you're a contact lens wearer. Hycosan are great. Also worth chatting with your optician incase a different lens may be more comfy.

tuxedocat · 05/07/2017 11:38

bluebell I was 16+3 at my gender but had a semi full bladder though I know at 20w they don't ask for a full bladder - perhaps take some water just incase and you can empty? Good luck Smile

I've felt movement most days since last week - it's bizarre! DH felt one v strong boot in the side, and it's much lower down than I expected but if I lie still I can feel (and sometimes hear?!) popping and felt him move over this morning I think (18w today)

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 05/07/2017 12:17

@tuxedocat So weird when they turn over, right? I was lying in bed this morning feeling all these kicks and pops, and suddenly felt a massive turn, like the whole of my insides did a rollie pollie, and then my tummy just stuck out really high and hard for ages! He's definitely more active in the mornings before I get out of bed 💙

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 05/07/2017 12:18

And now at the gym sipping my post-workout protein shake and seems he must like the banoffee flavour cos he's suddenly active again 😂

tuxedocat · 05/07/2017 12:38

biker yes! it was the first time I've really felt him roll over as I usually get pop and the odd little thud here and there but I can't explain what else it might have been, definitely felt like my insides did a twirl!
