The bottles are great for refilling too!

octopussyintummy · 18/03/2007 21:21

ROFL WCL I get freaked out when two friends come round - let alone 25 with broomsticks!

Fanko · 18/03/2007 21:25

you are brave WCL, we only had 10 of them and they were all turning 3 around the same time!

plus i have a downstairs loo, the parents all stayed, and it was nice weather so it was a garden party

one of his friends went to a soft play place, another hired the village hall. this year i'll have a 6 mth old so might do the swimming/soft play thing

WestCountryLass · 18/03/2007 21:37

It was madness I tell you! I would have only invited 10 but then when you are friends with people and they have other kids it is hard. It is easier to omit the siblings from a softplay type party as you have to pay for them but when you are having it inhouse it is difficult.

Also, DS did not want party food and I was under instructions to do Quorn nuggets and chips, bloody nightmare cooking for 27 kids in one piddly oven!

Fanko · 18/03/2007 21:38

i reackon this year you do a 'everyone bring a picnic and meet us at the park' party

WestCountryLass · 18/03/2007 21:38

Fanko, you wait til they are at school and the parents just dump them off....mwahahahaha

WestCountryLass · 18/03/2007 21:40

I think DD will be having a swimming party as in July and DS will be having it in a hall with a bouncy castle or something.

Fanko · 18/03/2007 21:40

no bloody way i'll be one of those parents that doesn't do big parties, we'll be having picnic in the park parties or he brings 2 friends out for the day, far easier

octopussyintummy · 18/03/2007 21:40

Thats why we go to softplay a good distance from where we live sos ome have to stay and make sure there is a party supervisor!

WestCountryLass · 18/03/2007 21:41

Good plan Octo

WestCountryLass · 18/03/2007 21:42

I do love doing parties but I do expect the kids to be picked up on time!

octopussyintummy · 18/03/2007 21:44

One day I'll be sitting here typing away and pop, my waters will go! I don't do much else so it is very likely!

octopussyintummy · 18/03/2007 21:46

Off to bed - see you tomorrow

WestCountryLass · 18/03/2007 21:48

Off ona tangent but my Mum rang from Spain today and, God, she gets on my nerves. She started off by saying "have you had it yet?"! Er, yes, two weeks ago but I didn't bother ringing...Then she said when she rang and I wasn't in she thought I had gone in. Gone in where? I am having it at home. Are you? Yes, I had DD at home. Did you? Then she goes on about me calling when I have the and I am like, nahhhh, I won't bother and she got all uppity...

octopussyintummy · 18/03/2007 21:52

LOL - still here! I forgot to send my mum a card and got round it by talking about the baby and them coming to visit! Thankfully have sorted the middle of the night dilema as they have said they will come at whatever time, just need to call - only two hours away! I may be having a homebirth too!

CaptainDippy · 18/03/2007 21:54

Fanko · 18/03/2007 22:05

CaptainDippy · 18/03/2007 22:06

How about:

"Before you ask, the answer is no."

......and then after you've had bubs just have the baby screaming it's lungs out as your message - people will soon get the hint!!
