Maveta, your night away sounded blissful. V jealous!

I am knackered again. Dh has spent the last 3 hours re roofing the ruddy shed, so I have been in charge of keeping B entertained. Bored by it all now, and my sodding ribs feel like I have a hot poker in them.

oooggs · 18/03/2007 17:10

Hi all & happy mothers day - thankfully ds made me a card at nursey!!!!! Enough said

Would you believe I have now carried the twins longer than I carried ds who was born at 36+3 which is today. Not amused.

Catch you all later, just about to pop down the Indian

mammyjo · 18/03/2007 18:35

WCL, dont think it was secretions. I described it to the midwife and it was unlike anything I have ever had before or since. She was pretty convinced it was a show and just as convinced it didnt mean much either - how crap is that, I already had myself in labour!!

mammyjo · 18/03/2007 18:38

Oooggs, are you having a hot curry? Might get you started, you never know. I had curry and a lager last night in the vain hope it might trigger something but no such luck so far!

So many low down pains, feel like my nethers are going to give way and the baby will just fall out. Would be good if it did actually as would save me the hassle of going through labour! Still having niggly crampy pains which kept me awake last night but nothing more exciting than that.

oooggs · 18/03/2007 19:11

Nah only a mild one, just a treat. Can relate to the nether pains, just said to dh that it feels like there is something between my legs trying to get out. Wish they would hurry up.

octopussyintummy · 18/03/2007 19:50

Evening all - have had a very lazy day in bed - got up for breakfast, lunch and nct class - going back soon!

ooggs - would you mind dreadfully ordering me a tikka masaala and naan?

WestCountryLass · 18/03/2007 19:54

Mammyjo, I am sure you know what is going on with your own body I am consoling myself with the fact that everything is moving in the right direction so to speak.

I am not in any real hurry to have my baby as I feel the best I have done so far this pregnancy. I am somewhat concerned that DD was 8lb 12oz and come Wednesday I will be 39 weeks which is when I had her and the thought of having an even bigger baby is a tad alarming

WestCountryLass · 18/03/2007 19:55

Oooogs, I cannot imagine having two of them fighting for space in there and jumping on my internal organs.

I would be ordering a vindaloo with extra chilli!!!!!

maveta · 18/03/2007 19:58

Oh Eca, do enjoy it, it was the best thing we could have done.. after what feels like weeks of being boring blobs on the sofa we were actually doing something and (GASP) talking to each other. Although that may have had something to do with the lack of mumsnet ahem...

It´s been relatively quiet on here today so I do hope you all have had lovely mother´s days meals, even if they were prepared by yourselves!! and are feeling loved and appreciated..what are the chances??--

Fanko · 18/03/2007 20:24

hi all
i'm here but just catching up

octopussyintummy · 18/03/2007 20:29

Hello Fanko

Have poured myself glass of wine but am going to put it back in bottle and have a raspberry yoghurt and a meringue instead!

Fanko · 18/03/2007 20:33

much better idea octo

we've had a lovely day, went to the car boot sale this morning and got a Bumbo, had been thinking about getting one and at £5 i couldn't say no

then took matthew to stephens, we're just friends now but it was a good day, he had his son and matthew loves seeing both of them

Fanko · 18/03/2007 20:34

gonna need a new thread title soon.............

think that's some kind of record

octopussyintummy · 18/03/2007 20:37

Bargain! I have to say I am now avoiding shops and NCT sale season as I just don't need antyhing and want to start my new years resolution of actually trying to save money!

thread title: the buns are comin' out the oven!

Fanko · 18/03/2007 20:43

is that a vague attempt at encouraging a birth?

we have 2 sales next week, the local twins group and a local toddler group, i'll be making a list of things i need but will still come home with loads

i look on it as ok cos it's all 2nd hand prices so doesn't add up to what it'd have cost me for half the stuff new

got most of the bits for my hospital bag today, just need lanisoh and witch hazel.

octopussyintummy · 18/03/2007 20:47

I did my hosp bag today - ready to go

I haven't bought any lasinoh or arnica yet - will get tomorrow! Although am confused about nipple cream and whether necessary have decided best to have some just in case!

Also - I have washable breastpads - 6 pairs - have one box of disp ones - do you think shoudl get another box rather than take risk of dh getting the wrong ones?

Fanko · 18/03/2007 20:55

, could you not just keep the empty box and send that with him to the supermarket?

don't think i need arnica, not planning a c-section, but have heard that lanisoh makes a very good lip balm as well as a nipple cream so figured it was worth having

Fanko · 18/03/2007 20:56

look at this thread octo, very very sad people out there

octopussyintummy · 18/03/2007 20:59

I thought arnica was for bruising in general - was planning on getting the tablets rather than the cream - took them last time - one of those things you have no idea whether works or not!

octopussyintummy · 18/03/2007 20:59

LOL wasn't planning on eating the cream!

Fanko · 18/03/2007 21:02

didn't know there were tablets, might investigate that!

octopussyintummy · 18/03/2007 21:09

Saw that thread - I would expect there to be water tbh. As far as parties go - if I can leave them I will and I don;t care what they eat or drink as long as they have fun and don't give a hoot what is in the party bag either!

In an ideal world we would all have cute birthday parties at home with our kids eating organic hummous, drinking danone, playing very well organised party games and singing in french - but sadly, in reality, its the local farm place, swimming or softplay. (I'm sure CD is one of these rare and talented people ) I would love to be a domestic goddess and really do try but I have failed miserably for many years.

Fanko · 18/03/2007 21:11

i did a party for matthew last september for the first time, we had cocktail sausages etc but then we were at home, today he had macdonalds with a fruit shoot

Fanko · 18/03/2007 21:17

i don't think they're great but they don't send him hyper and he only has them once a week, i just can't do that 'homely' mother thing! am always impressed at those that make the birthday cake, ours are from tesco!

WestCountryLass · 18/03/2007 21:20

We had our first party at home last year and DS is keen to repeat this again this year but it will not be happening!

27 very excitable 2-5 year olds (mainly 4 and 5 year olds) runnign around like lunatics. We had a Halloween theme and a lot came armed with broomsticks and the like and we were refereeing them battering each other. One boy was caught about 10 times shoving loo roll down the toilet and flushing it and blocking it, DH had to buy a spring toilet uunblocker thing and spent the last hour mopping toilet water out of the utility room.

That and the fact one Mum was an hour late to pick up her son and I was about 15 weeks PG and knackered and pukey still, I almost combusted come the end

Trying to convince DS to have it out of the house but he is unconvinced as all his little friends loved it
