Yet another new thread, because just like all the remaining posters the old one is about to go pop.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
runningal · 03/04/2007 09:54

Morning all,

Still here, no action at all as yet.

Thanks for the OP info, Diva. I really hope you're right and this one does rotate earlier, couldn't bear another labour like last time.

I'd love to have a beer in the evenings, but have been holding off in case I go into labour, and also because poor hubby hasn't had a drink in over a week in case he has to take me into hospital. Bless! Another advantage of a home birth, eh?

Anyone else getting fed up of people asking when they're going to have it or worse, being told to "get on with it." Like I'm calling the shots here!

Take care all.

Mossie · 03/04/2007 10:01

Runningal, my thought is that if I do go into labour, a beer or two could be just the ticket to take the edge off the early bit!!

But yes my dh is never over the limit any more, just in case.

Ikwym, those texts / phone calls. People do mean well, and I realise that. I think people run out of things to say so start saying things that they think are funny, but really are a bit .

foxcub · 03/04/2007 10:26

Hi everyone - you all still here then?

Mossy - my only prob is that I'll probably never get to sit on DT - plus that I'm old enough to be his mother (well, almost)

Kitty - you're really making me jealous re. the beers

Diva - LOL re. the gas and air in your gob. Mine was on a short lead and kept falling out of my gob - I clearly remember shouting "shit!!!" each time it fell out!

Lunar - they're going to be lost without you at work aren't they?

Mossie · 03/04/2007 10:37

Foxy you are early forties he is mid to late thirties, there's only a few years in it you know!

Am I being unreasonable?

If, every time I get a text from someone asking "have you had it yet?" to text back and say, "no he doesn't have a birthday yet, unlike me who in case you had forgotten is the big three o tomorrow"?

I don't think I am being unreasonable and may start doing it now.

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 03/04/2007 10:40

My lovely midwife is coming round today. She phoned this morning and asked if I wanted a sweep.
I had been adamant that I didn't want anyone sticking their hands up me but I thought that it might work now and I am getting a tad pissed of with this whole malarky now.

So I've been tidying my bedroom incase it works

Mossie · 03/04/2007 10:41

Oh good luck with your sweep Kitty let me know if it works as I'm having one on Friday!!

maveta · 03/04/2007 10:43

Hi Girls, just popping in from the April thread to send you lots of {BABY - OUT!}vibes.. hope they work!

AngeG · 03/04/2007 10:50

Hi there ladies,

Just dropping in to say hello. I'm from the April thread. Wanted to send you some labour vibes before I go in tomorrow to have an elective section.

Good luck to you all xx

Mossie · 03/04/2007 11:23

Ah thanks for your vibes ladies! I hope they work, I'd love to go into labour naturally before my prod on Friday!

Dh has just emailed me, he has chatted to his boss and as of tomorrow he is off until the end of April with a combination of paternity and holiday! I'm seriously thinking local government is the way to go when I have to go back to work, I can't imagine in a trillion years my boss ever agreeing to something so flexible!!!

Mil's coming over later on to take me to the Asda so I'm going to get on and do a bit of meal planning now for the week.

foxcub · 03/04/2007 12:11

Mossie - lucky you having DH off for so long.

Kitty - you gonna go for the sweep then? Mine worked with Monti

divastrop · 03/04/2007 12:46

haven't you had those babies yet???

sorry-couldnt resist.

thank you all for letting me moan on your thread over the past few days

runningal · 03/04/2007 13:05

Looks like even Mel B has beaten us to it now!

Kitty - good luck with the sweep if you decide to go for it. Hope it works for you.

Mossie - that sounds great, having husband off for a whole month! hope something starts for you before Friday's appt. And have a fab 30th tomorrow!!

I've got an appt with the midwife at hospital tomorrow. I'm not exactly sure what they'll do, but if they offer me a sweep I'll be tempted. Feels like my mat leave is dripping away and i want to spend as much of it as possible with the baby here.

And today's labour vibes ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

muppethasakitten · 03/04/2007 13:53

Kitty and Mossy - you're girls after my own heart - i'm such a lager fan.... nothing better than a cold stubby in the evening... gorgeous - and I think it would be a real winner as pain relief, they should have it on tube in the labour rooms.

Kitty - let us know what you make of the sweep!

Anybody watched 'A night at the museum'? - just seen it with the kids - quite amusing i thought. Ricky Gervais is very good.

Just got back from HV - Samuel has put on 3lbs since birth (4 weeks ago) - so all the cake and chocolate i am eating is clearly finding it's way through to him... marvellous... sadly it's also finding it's way through to my bum... it'll be a while til i'm back in non maternity jeans!

Mossie · 03/04/2007 15:35

Yes I couldn't believe that he would get that long, two weeks of it is paternity but the rest is holiday or days off because of flexi-time and things like that! I seriously have to get into the public sector!!!

He is looking forward to it as well, I think he was getting so fed up of the "hasn't she had it yet?" questions from colleagues!!

Muppet I'll 'fess up, I'm more of a Bacardi Breezer girl normally, with the occasional real ale / stout. But since getting pregnant lager has become much more appealing! To think they're now changing the guidelines again to say women shouldn't drink at all if they're pregnant, I'll have a knock on my door from the police any second I know it!!

Funny you should mention Night at the Museum, dh and I got it last night, it's quite funny isn't it?

Diva if it helps to moan, moan away!!

Runningal that is exactly how I feel, you hit the nail on the head, like my maternity leave is slipping away and I haven't even had the baby yet.

Foxy, UK Gold is repeating the last series of Doctor Who at twelve o'clock every day, it was School Reunion today, I had misty eyes at the end of it!!

After all my moaning I did actually get two cards today, mil dropped one around, along with a pair of really funky jogging bottoms that I can wear after the birth, they are a big size but nice enough to wear as normal kecks. And fil, his dp & fil's Mum sent a joint one in the post too that I got this afternoon.

Mil's made me pmsl actually, it's a b&w piccie of two babies, one saying to the other, "Crikey Charlie! We'll never drink that much, even if we take one each!"

And fil's had a picture of a kitten on it. You can never go wrong with a kitten where I'm concerned!!

muppethasakitten · 03/04/2007 17:18

Hey... where's Kitty... do you think she's had her sweep and it all kicked off???

Piffle · 03/04/2007 19:01

Another lager lout here
Think pregnancy saved me from a serious problem

I actually had cravings for lager when pregnant with dd - they did not disappear with her birth!

cannot believe how these babies are making you last few lasses wait...
You must have seriously comfy wombs, plasma tv or something?

LaidbackinEngland · 03/04/2007 20:36

No Lunar today either - I bet she is in labour !

runningal · 03/04/2007 20:44

Ooh, good luck Kitty and Lunar - hope you're both having very easy labours and deliveries today!! Can't wait to hear your news.

divastrop · 03/04/2007 21:06

i went off lager when i was expecting ds1 then started craving it 5 years later when i was expecting ds2.ive obviously gone off wine again now but although i'd like a drink i dont know what i want.i'll have to experiment, dont want to embarrass myself at xmas do i?

piffle-my pregnancy with dd2 saved me from aserious problem.i think i was on a large bottle of lambrini a night back then(not to mention 20 fags a day).actually, maybe im better off not drinking atall as i seem to have very little self control.

ooohhh i hope we have new babies tomorrow

mossie-moaning hasnt made me feel better about that one issue, ive eevn talked to dp about it and im still turning it over and over in my mind.the trouble is i cant let things lie untill im 100% sure i know the whole truth and evrything adds up in my mind and i can make absolute sense of it.its like when i get a song stuck in my head but i dont know all the lyrics,i cant get rid of it out of my head till ive listened to it and sang it through a few times and defo know all the words

i once had viva forever by the spice girls stuck in my head for 2 months and i couldnt find a copy of it anywhere.i ended up going all the way to oxford street on the bus when i was staying with m,y mum in the summer, and i paid £10 for the album out of HMV.just so i could listen to one song..

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 03/04/2007 21:12

Still here

Had the sweep this afternoon. Have felt very uncomfortable since. I had stomach ache before the sweep.
The sweep was done very well, not at all uncomfortable.
The MW said my cervix was very soft and stretchy and that she could feel the baby's head and his hair even, well thankgod he's not bald .

Since then I have had horrible stabbing pains in my lower abdomen, just like before the last labour, I've had irregular contractions and absolutely awful backache.

I feel a real pressure downwards now, piles really hurt today (sorry tmi).

Anyway, it might kick off in the night, I'd love to get a little shut eye first, or I might be back here again tomorrow.

Let's hope things are working for Lunar

Night all x

Mossie · 03/04/2007 22:19

Oh good luck Kitty, I hope it kicks off for you tonight. So I could come back on here tomorrow and both you and Lunar could have popped!!

Diva pmsl at your Viva Forever "craving"!!

I hope you manage to get your head straight around matters with you and your dp soon, you deserve to be happy and secure.

Yes I must just have a comfy womb, lager, chocolate, lemon sponge cake and some lovely home cooking (yes, even if I do say so myself) - well who'd want to come out of that?!

Dh came home with another carrier bag today that immediately got hidden under the stairs, I'm excited now about my birthday!!! I know one of my prezzies is a Doctor Who DVD but I don't know which one....

Actually I think dh is getting a cold, I've sent him off to have a hot bath in the hope he doesn't come down with something... selfish reasons really, I certainly don't want to become ill just as my body gears up for labour!!

Here's hoping something kicks off for some of us tonight!

41 weeks today
EDD 27th March
DD goodness only knows when
Bertie

Me: 30 tomorrow (have I mentioned that at all? )

divastrop · 03/04/2007 22:22

kitty-hope it works for you ,i will keep my fingers crossed you will be waking with your new baby next to you in the morning

well ive just seen a photo of the 'woman' dp had been chatting to and ive been worrying and obsessing about all this time...he was with his wife and child in the picture.

why am i soconvinced everyones out to get me?sod councelling,i need a shrink and a couple of months in the nut house

Mossie · 03/04/2007 22:27

Oh Diva, you might feel a bit silly but at least it must put your mind at rest and you can put it behind you.

Just realised I've missed the results of the Underdog Show I will have to find out who is out!!!!

divastrop · 03/04/2007 22:28

mossie-x posts!

happy birthday for tomorrow.i will have a drink for your birthday tomorrow ngiht i think seeing as i missed out on mine

are you going out or are you going to have a virtual party?

Mossie · 03/04/2007 22:32

I think dh, mil & I are going out for a swift half & a snack at dinner, and then mil is cooking a big roast for us for tea. Assuming I don't go into labour overnight that is! Chance'd be a fine thing!!

Yes, in fact, I think you should get full on drunk for me actually, given that I can't!!!
