hi just a quick pop in to see how everyone is.
Happy bday 1b3 glad your ok.

Glad everyone else seems ok. Glitterkitty really hope everything goes ok for you.

Im ok. Had a bit of a show tues night nothing much though.Saw midwife today and Baby is breech have 2 weeks to try and turn him around if he hasnt turned by the 29march they are going to get me an app with the consultant to see if she can get him to turn.and then if that fails its a section which to be honest is my worst fear. So im hoping the bugger will turn otherwise I will never let him forget it when he appears!

Anyway better head as Beth wants some tea will try and pop back later

take care all xx

Hello everyone,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY 1b3 - or as happy as it can be! Glad you don't have DVT, sorry you are having trouble with useless registrar!
glitterkitty - sorry to hear about the fibroid - can you ask for a cs before 37 weeks, or is that really not a good idea? When are elective CSs usually carried out? I can understand why you're worried ad want to avoid an emergency CS.
GMM and WO welcome back
Yvie how embarrassing! In my defence, I have a cousin called Eve, so I think of your name as similar, even though it's obviously spelled differently! Ellie is right, I finish on the 30th but am off all of next week - my last week is meant to be for desk clearing, finishing off etc and will be very easy! You 2 only have 1 week left!
duchesse thanks for popping in to wish us luck! Hope evrything is well with you.
WCL - very exciting! Keep us informed - you realise now if you don't post every hour or so it will be assumed you're in labour?!Anyone I've missed, hello
Pesha and everyone, thanks for the sheets recommendations. Think I'll try pillowcases (but buy some new ones) as they will be much easier and I haven't found a lot of choice of colour in the sheets. Am looking forward to using my vouchers! I have one more question - where do I get a lambskin from? Can't find them in Mothercare.

EllieK · 15/03/2007 17:13

why do you want one Katy?

Katy44 · 15/03/2007 17:14

People seem to keep recommending them (have I got my words mixed up) so I was going to have a look, see how much they are.

Katy44 · 15/03/2007 17:15

How are you Ellie?

EllieK · 15/03/2007 17:18

i'm good thanks, lots of painful kicks tho

i won't be using one, i have sensitive skin and it'd set mine off so won't be risking it with baby

also it's yet more expense and maybe too warm for the time of year?

Katy44 · 15/03/2007 17:26

Didn't think of that - yes, maybe I should leave it until later in the year, if at all.
Have I scared everyone else off?

EllieK · 15/03/2007 17:28

well you know, they're all quite nervous of being stalked

you'll like this quiz

eca · 15/03/2007 17:35

hey loves

1b3 happy b-day! Sorry the hospital is being such a pita. But glad to hear you don't have dvt. Had visions of them rushing you across to theatre for c-section (don't know if they even do that for dvt!!) but, i suppose you'd be pleased if they did!!

katy - i think lambskins also keep baby cool in summer, i think it's something to do with the natural properties of wool. Not sure though.

MIABT - have a lovely weekend! Sounds fun! I've got a hen weekend in July, so that will most definately be avec bambino!

Ordered a travel cot from JL today. Really excited, is a really light one and lovely light blue/grey colour!

eca · 15/03/2007 17:40

tilli - sorry to hear baby is breech. I'm seeing m/w tomorrow to see if mine still is. How many weeks are you?

Have you thought of trying alternative therapy? I know a reflexologist (who's also a m/w) and she said if i'm still breech further on to contact her and there are some things to try. I think acupuncture and moxibustion is something she recommended. You need to find a practicioner who practices it for pregnant women though, if you see what I mean.

Katy44 · 15/03/2007 17:42

I've just been splattered with hot fat from some sausages

Katy44 · 15/03/2007 17:43

Ellie - haven't tried the quiz yet but from the comments on the other thread it does sound like my kind of thing

EllieK · 15/03/2007 17:44

Katy, can we not leave you for a minute

are you burnt?

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 15/03/2007 18:08

1b3, so sorry you had such a terrible time at the hospital. Honestly, doesn't instil much confidence in the medical profession does it!

Hope you can have a delayed Happy Birthday tomorrow instead.

Tili, hope the baby turns for you.

Just a quick post, as I have to take Becky to the dentist. It is her first visit (naughty mummy) and they like to see all new patients in the evening, which tbh is a pita as it means she will be in bed late - her appt is at 6.45!

Dreading taking her if it is anything like the trips to the hairdressers we have!

Anyway, will come back on later.

Bramshott · 15/03/2007 18:20

Tili & Yvie - sorry to hear you've had disspointing news re baby's current position etc. Hope they can both wriggle themselves around . . . !

1b3 - glad you are out and that it isn't a DVT. Is your leg painful, or is it just swollen (IYSWIM)?

WCL - how exciting . . .!! Thinking of you.

SOSPL - hope the dentists goes okay. The first and only time I took DD she yelled, and steadfastly refused to open her mouth (she was 3 and a bit). We haven't yet repeated the experience . . . ! I think Finding Nemo has a lot to answer for!

Failed to go into town, or indeed anywhere this afternoon, so I am without DD's 'special big sister present', or any other bits for my hospital bag. Don't know what I need really, just have this sense I should be totally sorted and organised - to the level of thinking "I must buy a new watch strap because I won't have time once the baby's here", and then having to remind myself that life won't just stop once it happens! I'm feeling lulled into a false sense of security now, and keep thinking "oh I'm not due till April!"

EllieK · 15/03/2007 18:57

quote of the week from mumsnet news -

SoupDragon on what constitutes a valid alternative... "Infant formula is a valid alternative to breastfeeding. It's not an equivalent replacement, it's not better but it is an adequate alternative. Just like Mumsnetting is a valid alternative activity to singing Row Row the Boat with your 13 month old baby. It's not as good but it's still an alternative."

made me and thought it a good thing to remember for those stressful first days

eca · 15/03/2007 19:05

ellie!!!! that quiz is driving me mad!! I am began to realise how think I am when stuck for ages on question 4 and everyone else is getting up to 50-something!!!! ha!

eca · 15/03/2007 19:06

EllieK · 15/03/2007 19:23
