Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

EllieK - thought you were serious till i saw the smile - i'm counting the hours - less than 48 hours to go (sounds soooooo much better than 5 1/2 days!)

glitterkitty · 15/03/2007 13:07

JUST caught up, have forgotten everything I read apart from happy b-day lb3! Sorry its been ages- have not vanished- I do lurk & catch up every few days or so...dont always have anything exciting to say tho!

Anyway, aaarrrgghh!!! Am really hacked off- have just been for antenatal appointment as I had a scan yesterday and unfortunatly have a fibroid blocking babys exit- its as big as his head!

So altho he's head down, he cant engage- they said that at the moment is head is really squashed (off the scale on my notes) but in overall size its ok. Anyway, might have to have c-section, but they are going to scan me again in 3 weeks when I'll be 37 weeks and see if hes forced himself past it.

TBH im really anxious- it seems really late- what if I go into labour before that? And he cant get past and gets distressed? And I have to have emergency c-section?!?! Doom!!!!!

octopussyintummy · 15/03/2007 13:10

Yes they are the dreaded leylandii and are as big as if not bigger than the houses! No-one tied to a tree yet ...

I went to bed at 8pm last night and woke up at 7.30 - it was bliss waking up and knowing you had slept all night. Like having an extra birthday!

Dh is working from home tomorrow and says we can go out for lunch ... hmmm - maybe into Bath to fave restaurant ... will have to be really nice to him!

EllieK · 15/03/2007 13:11

i have the advantage of only working 3x6 hour days a week
so i have just 4 days, or 24 hours

octopussyintummy · 15/03/2007 13:16

Oh Glitterkitty - what a worry for you - big hugs xoxooxx - are you happy to have a planned section? Probably best if they think its safest - I have had an emergency section under spinal and it was fine - sister had a real emergency one under general and it was very serious stuff and it took her a long time to get over it physically and emotionally. I think the more planned a section is the easier it is for you. I'm sure you can't think of anything else at the moment - hope you figure out what is best for you soon xoxoxox

octopussyintummy · 15/03/2007 13:19

I would ask to see your midwife weekly too so she can check the heartbeat or ask to go in to be monitored ince a week - it will be a bit more reassuring and if he is distressed they will pick it up instantly.

glitterkitty · 15/03/2007 13:21

Thanks Octo! I'd prefer to have natural birth- but happy to have elective c-section if the consultat thinks its the best thing for the baby... Its being told 'oh lets wait some more and see' that's doing my head in- I just want to know whats happening so I can prepare myself mentally! 37 weeks seems really late- and they might even leave me longer than that! Gah!

CaptainDippy · 15/03/2007 13:27

Sounds v.frustrating glitter; but I guess they want to give you ever chance of having the natural birth that you would ideally like. I hope bubs does manage to force his / her way past the blasted fibroid. Poor you, it is an anxious time and I am thinking of you! [hugs]

AT LAST - DD's at nursery - I am feeling very sick and dizzy Have heaps to do this afternoon so need to try and push through this.....

Bleurgh!

octopussyintummy · 15/03/2007 13:28

That is a long time to worry Glitterkitty - would drive me potty! Please do go and get monitored regularly - quite a reasonable request for you to make xoxoxox

CaptainDippy · 15/03/2007 13:31

Agreed - just pop into your local maternity unit if you have any concerns at all - Better to be safe than sorry and all that. They won't mind at all!

octopussyintummy · 15/03/2007 13:37

CD - go and lie down - it can all wait

glitterkitty · 15/03/2007 13:41

you probably need some emergency chocolate CD

I just hope my horrible fibroid dosent squash his head any more, poor baby

runnyhabbit · 15/03/2007 13:43

Hi glitterkitty I hate being stuck in limbo too. Sometimes I think I would rather plan for something I don't really want, than leave it til the last minute. At least that way, you've got time to get your head around it iyswim. Agree with the others, and arrange for regular monitoring, until you know for definate what is happening.

Got antenatal appt at 2pm. I get so excited by these appts Guess it adds to the count down of D-day

EllieK · 15/03/2007 13:54

have you been taking your iron tabs properly CD?

octopussyintummy · 15/03/2007 13:56

My baby feels like it is doing press ups in my tummy - his bum keeps going up and down - either that or hes turned into the churchill dog!

muminabigtumi · 15/03/2007 14:05

Not caught up yet but...

..I am officially on Maternity Leave! I have just finished my last shift and it feels brilliant. I don't feel at all emotional or upset - I'm just really really glad!!!!

I will of course miss all my collegues but they are all only down the road and I'll be in and out for ante natal appointments and all such before then. I've also got a leaving do on 30th May too. I was really touched though as I got a gorgeous bouquet of flowers and £60 of Mamas and Papas Vouchers as well as a really cute baby towel and flannel from M&P too. I also got some really luxurious pampering products! I was really chuffed.
My boss brought in a banoffee pie as well which we scoffed. I will really miss the chat and my collegues - but it's fair to say I'm tired now and will not at all miss getting up for work.

Also I was really pleased for another reason as my midwife Janice and I were talking today. I was telling her how I felt sad that I would never experience having a "normal" or home birth, and was jealous of those ladies who could labour with the midwife they knew and trusted. Janice has asked me to ring her when I get my section date and she said that she is going to do her very best to accompany Phil and I in theatre if she is not working. I was touched, she is a fantastic lady and has looked after me in both of my pregnancies and it would mean so much to me if she could manage to be there...just to have one person I know and trust woudl make such a difference plus she throughly understands what happened to us last time and how it has affected us. I will not get my hopes up though as obviously it just depends on when the date will be - and I find that out on the 26th!

So I am sitting here having my lunch, James is at my Mums till later - god love her she has cleaned all my floors for me whilst I was at work this morning so I feel like I can actually relax. I find it so difficult to put my feet up if there is stuff that needs doing.
I am going to check out what you have all been up to and then go and pack for my fab hen weekend away.

I am SO EXCITED!!! A bit apprehensive about the journey but I will just take my time and I will have my friend to accompany me and Phil is letting me loose with the Sat Nav - YIKES!
So a weekend of girly fun and pampering awaits me - my last before baby comes...
I intend to throughly enjoy every minute of it. I will try and remember to take the camera and get some piccies....Thank god they have scrapped the idea of a "Bond Girl" theme night on saturday!!!
So I will be back - hopefully rested next week and into my 36th week - Oh My God........
x

octopussyintummy · 15/03/2007 14:08

CaptainDippy · 15/03/2007 14:09

Yey! to ML MIABT - Enjoy!!

I took your advice octo and have just woken up from a wee sleep - feel much better and am going to crack on with the hoovering and then tackle town. I have been taking my tabs, honest, I have Ellie - I think what with the holiday and having DD's, I have been over doing it a bit lately - naughty CD!

EllieK · 15/03/2007 14:12

you are so impatient octo

you'll only be complaining when someone does finally 'op' that it makes you want yours more

EllieK · 15/03/2007 14:12

sorry, finally 'pop', obviously

CaptainDippy · 15/03/2007 14:13

LOL!

EllieK · 15/03/2007 14:14

the boy is asleep
completely unprompted, and at only 2pm! usually he fights it until at least 5 and then it messes up bedtime.

geordiemacminx · 15/03/2007 14:15
