Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
AngeG · 14/03/2007 22:10

Mamas and Papas do a fitted sheet for every occasion as I recall, moses basket, crib, cot, cot bed, pram travel cot etc can't remember prices because I'm using some from last time, but don't remember them being extortionate(sp)

AngeG · 14/03/2007 22:11

Oooggs I have heard that the weight estimates are notoriously inaccurate. Be interesting to see what they weigh at birth.

EllieK · 14/03/2007 22:14

yes katy, twas me, i stole the keys

bit of a 'he had them but put them thro the door buut they weren't there so maybe he still has them but he says he doesn't' scenario

AngeG · 14/03/2007 22:15

Surprised you didn't go into labour with the excitment of that meeting Ellie

Katy44 · 14/03/2007 22:16

I knew it! Elementary my dear Watson!
Well my explanation is a lot more exciting than the real one!

Goodnight all xx

AngeG · 14/03/2007 22:17

I'm off to bed now. Night Night everyone. xx

Pesha · 14/03/2007 22:19

And fitted sheets are much easier in the middle of the night!

Glad I could help katy! I think in the pg and birth book you get from the mw it should have a section on baby jargon. For eg

Pram sheets - moses basket sheets

Baby gros, sleepsuits, all-in-ones - All the same thing, pyjamas and day clothes for newborns

Body suits, vests - The same thing, go under other clothes, keep nappy on!

Um...was going to try and be clever and witty and add lots of things but cant think of anything now! See 'tis bedtime again!

EllieK · 14/03/2007 22:20

night then you sleepy lot

i can't sleep, the meeting just got me too excited

CaptainDippy · 14/03/2007 23:22

Lurking back while DH makes our bed - then I can get into it and sleeeeeeeeep - hurrah!

Go ooooogs!! - That is all I can say really - hope the bubbas come soon hon - you must be super uncomfortable. [hugs]

I've never been able to identify different parts of baby when he / she is kicking in any of my PGs and no exception this time - this bub is mega wriggly / pushy though - currrently trying to escape - think a little foot is trying to burst through the left-hand side of my tummy - ow ow ow .....

EllieK · 14/03/2007 23:24

EllieK · 14/03/2007 23:25

CaptainDippy · 14/03/2007 23:27

flumppootle · 15/03/2007 08:47

Morning and Happy Birthday 1b3
How's the leg today? Hope that you are home and being pampered

Good to see you cd your holiday sounded lovely.

Pesha, wow for your dd being famous, she must be so excited!

Katy, I use flannelette pillowcases on the moses basket/carrycot instead of a bottom sheet - they cant come off (but haven't tried the fitted ones).

Ooggs at carrying two for longer than one, that is quite something - hope that it wont be long for you now, every day starts to feel like a fortnight with just one so have no idea how you ladies carrying two are doing it, you are stars

Legs crossed Clarice Have you got some help this week whilst he is away? Hope that he is fixed and home soon.

I really thought that we would have had some babies by now , cant wait to 'hear' of the first arrival, SO exciting!

Went out for a drink (non-alcoholic!) with a friend last night which was lovely, really cheered me up, been quite down this week. The whole house sale thing is getting on top of me now, hopefully will get some good news this weekend fingers crossed
Dh has been a sweetie and taken the dds to school for me so that I dont have to rush about, could get used to this

Thankyou Runny & Yvie for the vouchers, love getting vouchers! I joined the Boots parenting club a few weeks ago and they sent some nice vouchers too ( free disposable camera, free huggies changing bag when buy a packet of huggies, £5 make-up voucher and a stack more that I cant remember!)

YvieE · 15/03/2007 08:48

Forget to ask - is there any update on Dooby?

flumppootle · 15/03/2007 08:51

Dont think so Yvie, Weeonion hasn't been around for a few days either

octopussyintummy · 15/03/2007 09:57

Morning all! I ditched the playgroup meeting and went to bed early - slept for 11 1/2 hours without being woken up - just goes to show how tired I've been!

Oooggs - well done for carrying the twins so long - I realise it must be like torture for you - and they are so big! Will be less of s worry when they do come though.

CD - welcome back from holiday - glad you had a good time

Dooby, WO and 1B3 - virtual hugs to you all xox

I am planning to swaddle and use grobags too - blankets can be such a faff overnight - alright for nap during day and a quick cover up though. I have a cot and carrycot - both have fitted sheets - got them from John Lewis in twin packs - pretty reasonable - there was a £10 promotion code off £50 spend - think it was jlspecial - not sure if it still works. I also have a lambskin in the carrycot. My swaddle blankets are from lulasapphire - although noticed John Lewis do them now aswell and grobags I got cheap off ebay.

Have day to myself today - sainsburys coming, have to finish painting a wardrobe and have some sewing to do - real domestic goddess stuff! I have been truly crap recently with food and cooking recently! and forgot to order Alpen - rice crispies will just have to do

I shouted at my dh last night before went to bed early as was so tired - said he showed no interest in me and the baby (which he does!) and flounced off to bed realising I was being completely unreasonable!

Brain gone mushy - must be productive today ...

runnyhabbit · 15/03/2007 10:20

Good Morning ladies

CD - glad to see you back, and that you had a good time

Yvie - thanks for the voucher (I love a bargain!)

Wo Dooby & 1b3 - hope you are being well looked after. Big hugs to you all (and Happy Birthday 1b3)

Ooogs - second what everyone else has said - well done you for going for so long - what weights!

CB - feel for you with dh being away. Hope you've got some support nearby (and you can always rely on us for virtual support )

Don't think I've missed anyone....(sorry if I have)

Agree with whoever said using pillowcases instead of fitted sheets. A neighbour (who has twins) gave me a great tip - sleep on it yourself first (or few hours) to give it "your" smell, then when baby lies on it, they are a bit more settled because they can smell you, without being right next to you iyswim. Worked a treat for ds, esp when he was being a bit grizzly.

Ds in nursery this morning, and have got some energy (don't know where from ) so am going to finish some jobs around the house (or lurk on MN )

e-mailed glitterkitty last night, and she's ok, just been busy, and hopes we're all ok.
