Have got it out the recycling again, was lucky I spoke to my sis tonight cos recycling goes tomorrow. And dd doesnt know yet but i will tell her in morning, expect she'll want to take it into school to show everyone though! Her and ds were also on a leaflet last year with their faces painted at country fair but the leaflet only went out in chard area so not quite so famous then!!

Sorry have completely ignored everyone else's posts, was abit excited
CD - glad you had a nice break and got back all ok

Cant remember anything else now!

And spoke to my dad earlier who lives in pilton, normally all residents get a free ticket for the festival but this year its a free ticket or a cheque for £150

Katy44 · 14/03/2007 21:46

Thanks AngeG - I'll have to use blankets until he's the right weight for the grobag won't I? Do I just tuck them under the bottom of the mattress so they can't ride up? Or swaddle him?

AngeG · 14/03/2007 21:47

Hi oooggs - good to hear from you. I too can't believe that there are no babies yet, sure it can't be long now.

Glad all ok with the twins at your scan, shame your DH wasn't with you. Wow they are good weights for this stage aren't theyDid they not say anything about induction/section or do you not want that? Sending [[[hugs]] to you.

I assume that's sarcasm EllieK??

Katy44 · 14/03/2007 21:47

ooggs - I expected you and 1b3 would have seen body parts by now- after all there are 8 limbs in there!

AngeG · 14/03/2007 21:48

oooggs - 1becomes3 is in hospital tonight, she's having a scan on her leg tomorrow because they think she may have DVT. Don't think she's had a date yet though.

EllieK · 14/03/2007 21:49

Katy - there are growbags suitable from birth

oooggs · 14/03/2007 21:51

Katy - I am going to swaddle until suitable for grobag.

Hope 1B3 is ok.

Ange - didn't see a consultant today as toooooo busy so if they are not here by the time I see him next wednesday then I will have a temper tantrum until I get an induction date

AngeG · 14/03/2007 21:52

Katy - I think grobags can be used from 7lbs now, although it used to be 10lbs I think. I'll check and get back to you.

If you're using blankets you put baby right at the bottom of the cot (feet touching the end) and then blanket over and tucked in all round and not too high up so it can't go over baby's head. If you decide to swaddle I don't think you need extra blankets over the top just adjust what they are wearing as with grobags.

Katy44 · 14/03/2007 21:52

I didn't realise that - I'll go and find one of those.
Do you think my little boy will forgive me for putting him in what is really just a huge dress?

EllieK · 14/03/2007 21:53

and yes, extreme sarcasm alert

Katy44 · 14/03/2007 21:54

So what was decided at the meeting then? Do I want to know?

AngeG · 14/03/2007 21:55

oooggs too busy to see a pg woman expecting twins I think I'd have either been stamping my feet or bawling my eyes out, really hope they give you an induction date if you make it as far as next week.
I'm finding it hard enough now and I'm only carrying 1 baby.

EllieK · 14/03/2007 21:55

matthew didn't like growbags much, he's always hated being 'enclosed'

i have fitted moses basket sheets and flat ones to go over the top

Katy44 · 14/03/2007 21:57

Off to watch buzzcocks - please no-one give birth in the next half hour!

EllieK · 14/03/2007 21:57

well, i stepped down as vice-chairman, decided i'd rather just be on the committee. and the catering caravan keys are missing

AngeG · 14/03/2007 21:58

Katy - it says from 7lbs here

AngeG · 14/03/2007 22:00

Catering caravan keys missing was that the highlight of the meeting

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 14/03/2007 22:03

Welcome home CD. Glad you got back safely from your hols.

Oogs, what big babies! Mind you, I have no idea how they can tell such detail.

Hi Ange, Katy and Clarice.

Really hoping your dh is ok CB and that he is back with you before things kick off.

Right, off to bed for me. Fingers crossed for a dry night tonight, otherwise I shall be throwing a wobbly!

It is my leaving lunch at work tomorrow - not sure how I feel. I love my job so much! No hint of sarcasm. I really do!

Night night all.Sleep well lovely ladies. xx

EllieK · 14/03/2007 22:03

erm............

yes
and tht was in AOB!

AngeG · 14/03/2007 22:06

Don't blame you for standing down as vice-chairman then

Hi SOSPL - Fingers crossed for a dry night. Hope your leaving lunch goes ok tomorrow.
Night night xx

Pesha · 14/03/2007 22:06

Never tried growbags before as with dd they were a newfangled thing and so with ds just did the same as with dd. But this time have been given some by my sister so will be trying them. DD never liked being swaddled though. I have fitted sheets for mattress and flat sheets for on top, same as ellie. And they often called pram sheets and may not have any mention of moses baskets on them!

Oh and have never been able to see body parts sticking out my tummy Can watch it wiggle and shift and jump but cant tell one lump from another.

Oogs - wow at your babies and at going longer with two than with one. I would say what a good thing it is for them to stay in longer but can imagine if i was in your position i would be prob want to punch anyone who said that to me so i shan't mention it

Katy44 · 14/03/2007 22:06

Why have you stepped down? Did you steal the keys? I feel a Miss Marple coming on

Thanks for the help with grobags, I think mine are from 7lb, so hopefully not too long after birth. Think I'll get a couple of sheets or blankets as well so I can swap and change.
SOSPL - hope you get the dry night!

Katy44 · 14/03/2007 22:07

Pesha - thank you! I've seen 'pram sheets' mentioned everywhere and always wondered why they were so much more common than normal bedding!

AngeG · 14/03/2007 22:08

That's what I've got Katy. I agree with the others I prefer fitted sheets for the bottom sheet...less chance of them coming off.

oooggs · 14/03/2007 22:10

SOSPL - they work out the size from measuring the circumfirance (sp?) of the head and tummy and then a chart tells them the 'predicted' weight so hopefully not too acurate.

Yes Pesha - I am 'posied to punch' at the next person who says "you can't have long to go" - actually 4 weeks mate
