Congratulations @1004Rise on the little girl arrival!!

I have started timing contractions but they are still too far apart to call the labour line. They hurt but at least we're moving forward. 40+1 today.

PeachIcedT · 13/05/2017 22:36

@newbieho sounds like some progress! Hope all goes well for you. I've had some fairly unpleasant cervix jabs this evening but that's about it.

dreamofhungarianlanterns · 13/05/2017 22:36

Ahh bright if baby is coming he's doing it stealthily!! There's still tomorrow Smile

Congratulations rise lovely news, wishing you a speedy recovery shini and good luck newbie

1004Rise · 14/05/2017 01:49

Baby spam as promised! Thank you for all the congratulations.

I'm clearly biased but she's awesome, I spent most of the day just cuddling her skin to skin, after her big first feed she slept for about 6 hours when we woke her up to feed again. She seems to have the hang of it, I need a bit more practice getting her in the right position Blush She went to sleep again long enough for me to have a shower and then had another feed. She's now fast asleep and I can't sleep because I'm watching her in amazement, this is so much better than pregnancy insomnia! And I've changed my first nappy 😱

@newbieho starting to sound exciting hope it goes smoothly for you.

I haven't bought nail clippers or anything yet, but I need to get some can't believe how long her nails are! May try the nibbling method first though.

@ShiniBerry Sorry you've had a rough time of it. Hopefully all the newborn cuddles are helping you recover and you have good support.

@CoxsOrangePippin I'll put my thought process on the birth story thread 😊

@Brightsmoke that's an interesting lasts list!!

@FoxMulder hopefully you don't have to wait too long, if your baby arrives as expected s/he will have a really easy DOB to remember (17.05.17) which I hadn't realised until someone pointed it out when we were in theatre today!

Morning ladies

Managed to get discharged from hospital yesterday late afternoon and am so glad to be home. Here's a photo of the little man with his big sister. Will post my birth story now.

Lovely photos Jenny and rise

Sonnet18 · 14/05/2017 08:20

Congrats jenny and rise! Beautiful babies!
I'm still hanging on at 40 plus 2. Got midwife tomorrow for potential sweep. I'm unsuccessfully trying to amuse my dd with lots of sitting down quiet activities. She's not impressed so may need to give up and go out somewhere to tire her out a bit!

EsmesBees · 14/05/2017 08:25

Haha Sonnet that's exactly what I'm doing too. The playdo isn't really cutting it this morning, so considering braving swimming so at least she'll have a good nap after!

FoxMulder · 14/05/2017 08:32

Aww rise that's lovely. She's so gorgeous. Hadn't thought that about the date, would be pretty cool.

teainbed · 14/05/2017 08:42

Beautiful babies @1004Rise and @jennymac31 !

beachsands · 14/05/2017 09:16

peas I have been an emotional wreck. Delighted with life one minute then cranky and teary the next. My poor family putting up with me. newbie hope it's developed for you. rise congratulations. Contemplated doing something productive today and it's 9am and that ideas gone out the window. Exhausted so quickly these days.

Sonnet18 · 14/05/2017 09:19

I found a soft play that opens at 9am! Thankfully we are the only ones here and I can just lumber around behind her while she goes nuts running around! I'm terrified to sit in the ball pool though- I may not get up! Oh good luck with the swimming! You're brave!

rise Well done on the first nappy change of many!

RasperryInAMelon · 14/05/2017 09:53

Wow! Lots to catch up on over 24 hours! Thing seem to go quiet and then pick up again with all these yummy babies making appearances at the moment which is lovely! 😍

@BouncingBlueberry I'm booked for a sweep on the 23rd when I'll be 39+6 which I think I'll take if I'm honest... due to my ankle I can't be out having big long walks as much as I'd like to be 🙁

Keeping fingers crossed for all of you who are overdue! 🤞🏻 not much longer now hopefully!

@EsmesBees I'm not entirely sure tbh... the Midwife I saw yesterday said the scan is standard practice to go along with post 37 week CTG but she sees no reason I couldn't use the MLU without their assessment - it would just have to be done when I arrive in Labour instead - nothing like leaving it till the last minute eh! Although, I have my scan tomorrow afternoon so am going to see if anyone who has an assessment booked has had their baby this weekend and a cancellation has come up before the 1st

@CoxsOrangePippin have you got an alternative route planned just incase?

Hope you're feeling better today @Badgerbird

@Brightsmoke @Badgerbird I've just bought a lightweight 1.5tog sleeping bag from Sainsbury's for £13 but also have a couple of heavier ones for when the weather changes - again, interested to see what mummies are doing though...

@1004Rise congratulations! 💕

@Rustler74 literally the most depressing thing ever when the ap crashes... I've started copying my text just incase now! 🙉 what maternity pay help do you need? PM me if you want...

Deffo chilling and doing nothing today!

Sipperskipper · 14/05/2017 10:01

rise and jenny such beautiful babies - huge congratulations!

40 + 6 today and still nothing! Heading out for a nice long walk with DH & dog.

Badgerbird · 14/05/2017 10:17

Hey raspberry feeling much better today thanks and off to the seaside for our last night away just us 2!! Hoping baby stays put as I'm not taking birthing pool with me!! Grin

I'll check out the Sainsbury's grobag thanks, fits my budget Wink
When I last had growth scan after ctg (coz of RM) they didn't mention not being low risk/no hb as her size/water was fine so hopefully you'll be the same. Another good thing about scan is you get to see her Little face again ;)
Hope you have a good rest day :)

Gorgeous snuggley babies jenny and rise :)

Thanks peach, that book sounds good. I think mines a more of a "are we reeeeealy having a baby?!" ConfusedKind of brain boggle thing. That and the house needs cleaning again and I want everything ready etc etc.... esmes it does seem to help a bit getting things like that done I think. I feel a bit better after getting some of her clothes sorted and her bednest ready.
peach Love that your DH blended pineapple core into your curry Smile

shini I hope you are being well loved and supported BrewCake

Glad you had a lovely time at wedding rustler.

ClaireSunflower · 14/05/2017 10:28

Gorgeous babies @jennymac31 and @1004Rise

@Sonnet18 and @EsmesBees and all the other 2nd/3rd + times mums I am full of admiration for you looking after a toddler as well as being pregnant. I am finding it difficult enough just to function without even having anyone else to look after

I was back in for a ctg after reduced movement again yesterday. Seemed fine on the monitor but I'm being given a scan next week as it's the second time this has happened in a couple of weeks. Hopefully it's just my anterior placenta blocking me noticing movements rather than anything else but will be reassuring to get checked anyway.

Rustler74 · 14/05/2017 10:38

@RasperryInAMelon I think it's a simple question really. Whether I work for 2 different organisations or not, I'm wondering if the SMP comes out of a government pot or from (one of) the employers. I can't imagine I'll be getting it from both? What a pay cut though Shock

RasperryInAMelon · 14/05/2017 10:43

@Rustler74 do you work P/T for both employers?

Pay cut... you're telling me! My first big hit will be June! 😳

Tickyboovicki · 14/05/2017 11:22

@1004rise congratulations! So pleased for you.

@Badgerbird I was so not ready when our little one arrived, but it all slotted into place 🙂

Currently sleeping in vest, baby gro and blankets over the top (cellular blankets). I do have 2 sleeping bags but he isn't quite big enough just yet for them.

@Rustler74 my other half is already back on his Xbox 😂 although he plays when babies asleep in the room with him so I can go and shower etc.

FoxMulder · 14/05/2017 11:41

I'm actually getting a pay rise being on MA Grin

RasperryInAMelon · 14/05/2017 11:50

@FoxMulder how has that worked out of interest?

OP posts:
FoxMulder · 14/05/2017 12:08

With MA you submit 13 weeks payslips and you get 90% of those (up to £140). I had a few good weeks at the end which made it average out a little higher than I was ordinarily getting.
