Good luck jenny hope baby is ok in there.

Sipperskipper · 11/05/2017 12:01

Wonder if anyone can help - be prepared may be a bit gross!

Had stretch & sweep yesterday (40+2) with a different, not so nice MW (mine on hols) which was horrible - had to make her stop (so couldn't sweep) and I bled for the rest of the day. Went on a long walk with DH after (6 miles or so) to try & get things moving. Nothing, but think I had some BH, which I've never noticed before. Bleeding had stopped by bedtime & no pad needed overnight / today.

Just got in from walking the dog, went to the loo & wiped a big sort of fresh red jelly away. Could that be the 'show', or just leftover blood from yesterday?

Sipperskipper · 11/05/2017 12:02

Hope all goes ok with you jenny - keep us posted.

Rustler74 · 11/05/2017 12:03

Congratulations to @mightymouse76 too and look forward to seeing mini mighty soon!

@teainbed it's @Teaspoon74 who's being induced so we will undoubtedly hear from her next!

@newbieho I'm with you on the lazy! I just had a monster lie in this morning and it has been weeks!

@WishIWasSleeping and @teainbed I think my baby will be similar weight so it's a good indication I need to get more newborn stuff washed, before sprout arrives. Is it all too frumpy then? I've not got outfits just sleep suits and bodysuits.

@RedBlu and @MrsJW15 let's hope something is happening for you though!

First lunch or second breakfast now? No crumpets in the house so I'll be down the shop in a little while.

Rustler74 · 11/05/2017 12:07

Fingers X @jennymac31
Wow @Sipperskipper how could you hold out whilst bleeding! I'd have sat in triage after 1 hour of it. Show can be bloody I'm told. I'd make my way to hospital tbh, tell them you're coming as opposed to ask if you should come in

MissMooMoo · 11/05/2017 12:10

Congrats adventure and mighty!

Fingers crossed this is it jenny and it all goes well. I think we have the same due date so you have given me hope.

I have spent most of the morning in bed dozing, I feel really tired! Like I can not get enough sleep.
DH and I are going on a date tonight, just to Byron Burger at st Paul's but it will be nice to spend some time together out of the house and out of our little area of London (only live in Stratford so wont be going far!)
Plus all I can think about now is a peanut butter milkshake mmmm.

Sipperskipper · 11/05/2017 12:15

rustler the mw saw how much I was bleeding & said thats quite normal after a stretch. Otherwise I would have been freaking out! I tend to bleed after smears etc so wasn't suprised.

Ghostonthedancefloor · 11/05/2017 12:15

Congratulations adventure and mighty!!

jenny good luck! Your baby will be in your arms very soon..

sipper that sounds promising - my first definite sign was a show and that sounds just like it. Although I know a sweep can 'dislodge' things, it sounds like something is happening! I was in labour around 12 hours after my show! Good luck Star

teainbed · 11/05/2017 12:41

Ooh hope all is ok @jennymac31

Yes @CoxsOrangePippin but wankery people always say 'why is he still in his pyjamas?' Confused

teainbed · 11/05/2017 12:43

@Sipperskipper are you going to phone and check? Was it fresh red stuff or dark/old? I had loads after my sweep but I was in hospital so they checked it quite often.

Sipperskipper · 11/05/2017 12:46

tea I wasn't but maybe I should then. It was fresh but mucousy - not clots like a period. When I've googled bloody show it looks like the pictures....?

Sipperskipper · 11/05/2017 12:47

And agree with baby grows! I've bought millions but no 'outfits' - I love love love a baby in a babygro!

Sipperskipper · 11/05/2017 12:54

Just called labour ward (thanks tea) & explained - she said it sounds like show which is a good sign. As no contractions or anything just to carry on as normal but things hopefully heading in the right direction!

MrsJW15 · 11/05/2017 12:54

@Sipperskipper I think I'd be tempted to phone and ask. My MW said to call if there was red blood.

@MissMooMoo peanut butter milkshake sounds amazing!

I'd sort of assumed we would keep baby in babygros initially! They are very cute.

Today will be about walking as much as PGP allows and bouncing on that ball!

CoxsOrangePippin · 11/05/2017 13:12

tea, sipper, mrsjw good! We have all hand me down clothes which is amazing. I've counted out the 0-1 month ones and we have 17 fleecy/flannelly things with arms and legs, and 21 cotton things with a mix of arms/legs/not GrinShock I reckon that should be enough!

dreamofhungarianlanterns · 11/05/2017 13:16

Slipper I had a wet bleed after sweep which midwife saw and said was fine, then same as you've described looks like bloody show with dark old blood for another 24 hours. Midwife called in middle of it and said old blood fine but if it's bright red like you've cut your finger it's not so call triage if you've any of that. Bright hope all going well for you, no cramps here today worse luck so off for a walk and hopefully body getting ready for being receptive to second sweep tomorrow.

Mini mighty and mini adventure yay!! Congratulations mummy's!!

Happy birthday esmes hope you have a lovely day.

Wish you are definitely winning!!

And arrhhg, who is having contractions?? Good luck I'm jealous Grin

Northernexile · 11/05/2017 14:38

Congratulations adventure and mightymouse! Good luck jenny and slipper - sounds like things are definitely on the move!

Happy birthday to you esmes, hope you are enjoying your child-free day!

Babynorthern has yet to wear anything that isn't a babygrow. He's not quite in the 0-1 month size yet, and I didn't see the point of buying any 'proper' clothes as he'll get next to no wear out of them.

RasperryInAMelon · 11/05/2017 14:44

Afternoon all! A day of relaxing for me here. DH is working in the City and I did a ton of cleaning yesterday so am making up for it my alternating naps and eating before going to Aquanatal tonight! 😂🙈

Good luck to all those having sweeps at the moment! Mines been booked for 12 days time when I'll be 39+6 but it feels ages away! Hopefully this little lady makes an appearance on her own before then 😋

@Badgerbird hope you're having fun with your mum now that she's here!

@MrsJW15 I made a start on my make up yesterday too - cannot believe how much crap I've got tucked away!

@Adventuregame and @mightymouse76 huge congratulations on the arrival of your little ones!

@newbieho I hope you managed to get back to sleep?

@EsmesBees HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🎉 I had a wobble this morning too. I seem to settle for a few weeks but knowing she's due in two weeks is flipping me out. I almost think to myself, I'm still an irresponsible idiot myself! How the hell am I supposed to look after another human being!

Good luck @jennymac31 hope all is ok!

@Rustler74 NO CRUMPETS!!??... 😳

MissMooMoo · 11/05/2017 14:52

We only have vests and babygros apart from 1 outfit I can think of which we got as a gift.
I will probably keep baby in babygros as long as possible mainly because I am quite lazy and want an easy life, also they don't cost very much.
I figure they do lots of lying around and they are the most comfortable thing they can wear.

I just spent 30 mins out front cleaning our rubbish bin Blush it smelled SO bad and the binmen came this morning so its empty atm and smells much better! Then I swept the front. It looks much better now!

peasandquiet · 11/05/2017 14:57

The 5 pairs of shoes and 5 coats are my fav part Rasberry, my little boy is 2 and a half nearly and only on his second coat 😂At least you will get away with doing minimal washing!

Just make sure all the gifts you get after she arrives are in bigger sizes or set them aside to exchange for bigger sizes, next in particular are really great at letting you do this even if you have no receipts.

WishIWasSleeping · 11/05/2017 15:19

Cox - DD was only ever in babygrows for sleeps.... it was so easy to put her in dresses and tights.
I think I'd be more inclined to dress DS if I had a couple more pairs of tights for his skinny legs. Half of the stuff we have is shorts! Maybe I think boys clothes are less cute, so I don't mind as much, and I'm not quite ready to crack out the pink tights!
I may have previously been one of those wanky people teainbed mentioned!!
Rustler - DS looks like a little old man who's clothes don't quite fit! Grin
Raspberry- DD (16m) is on about her 8th pair of shoes, the last 2 pairs have been first walkers. Coats are a bit awkward until they can sit up by themselves though! We currently have 2 coats and 2 body warmers on the go for her! She has more clothes than me......!!

jennymac31 · 11/05/2017 15:20

Still in hospital and it looks like they're planning on breaking my waters and take it from there.

McBaby · 11/05/2017 15:44

@slipper sounds like normal after a sweep from what the consultant told me to expect. I had one yesterday and was told their may be some bleeding but that was normal.

I had a bloody show yesterday with red blood and more of a show today with brown in it!

savagehk · 11/05/2017 15:58

Good luck jenny!

teainbed · 11/05/2017 16:16

Good luck @jennymac31 won't be long now.
