congratulations adventure. Glad he is here safely

Wish that's a very cute sling photo. How are you finding the transition to 2? Had a minor panic about being able to cope with a newborn and toddler last night, but feel a bit more rational about it this morning.

Bright so impressed with this talk of scrubbing the floor. I can barely get down on the floor! I don't think nesting has kicked in here yet, although I did have a potential new cleaner round yesterday, but not sure that counts!

Lullaby I've got a caboo. No video recommendations but have a go with a large teddy. It's actually pretty intuitive once you have something to practice on.

It's my birthday today, so DH and I are having a day off with no work and no toddler. Absolutely no idea what he has planned, and don't really care, it will be just so nice to spend some time together.

lullaby23 · 11/05/2017 06:56

Happy birthday esme! Hope you have a relaxing day. Thanks, I'm sure DS will let me borrow one of his teddies Grin although maybe the bump will get in the way. It just looks confusing but hopefully get the hang of it.

Fluid levels are still a bit low so I was sent to the labour ward for a CTG, luckily toddler sat happily with my phone for half an hour and didn't cause too much chaos. CTG all fine so Dr is happy for me to come back in a week and hopefully we can stick to the ELCS date. DH back from last trip tomorrow afternoon so will feel happier when he's in the same country!

teainbed · 11/05/2017 06:57

Congratulations @Adventuregame !

Happy birthday @EsmesBees CakeFlowers

1004Rise · 11/05/2017 07:02

Congratulations @Adventuregame, looking forward to seeing picture of baby adventure!

@EsmesBees potential cleaner definitely sounds like nesting 🤔 and Happy Birthday 🎉

Woke up several times last night either with wriggly baby or sore hip, definitely more uncomfortable now 😕

Not sure I have any nesting instinct at all, very jealous of all these baking creations going on!

Rustler74 · 11/05/2017 08:07

Congratulations @Adventuregame and look forward to get a glimpse of babyAdventure!

Happy birthday @EsmesBees and let the DH spoil you to bits today!

No signs of nesting although we sorted through the new wardrobe yesterday, put shelves and rods in so I can continue to load it up today and get more room in the spare room where everything was piled up. My mum and dad coming on Monday so we need the spare room to be tidy! Will post photo of wardrobe once doors are hanging flush and handles put on.

WishIWasSleeping · 11/05/2017 08:07

@EsmesBees - Happy Birthday! Cake
it's fine most of the time and DD (older) is super helpful when she's in the mood. However she's also geared up the antics when she knows I'm feeding too. (Like bouncing on the sofa..Shock) and she's wanting more cuddles when I'm feeding. Had both of them in all out tears on Tuesday night at bedtime, who'd have thought nappy changes could be so noisy! Grin
This week is the first week DH has gone back to work and we're all still alive and have completed a mw visit, a HV visit, 3 trips to nursery for taster sessions and a trip to hospital for blood tests, so I'd say we're winning. A trip out with both needing to get out of the car today is planned though as I need more iron tablets, so we'll see how that goes!

Congratulations Adventure! Flowers

beachsands · 11/05/2017 08:47

Congrats adventure . wish you're flying with the two. A tip I was given was my two were small (now not new born age) was to get everyone dressed first thing so if there was meltdowns (usually by me) we could just get out asap and moods would calm quicker with a chance of scenery. Anyway day 2 of bloody show coming away. Still no sign of baby. So I'll sit with my tea and pastry and get around to walking later!

mightymouse76 · 11/05/2017 08:55

👋🏼 hello all
Sending good vibes to the gang.
After a rollercoaster few weeks, I have a mini-mighty lying beside me.
It's been an insanely intense fortnight but he is just 💙
Came into hospital on Monday and will be in until tomorrow night at least, but will share birth story soon, and can hopefully catch up on everyone's news whilst he sleeps! X

teainbed · 11/05/2017 08:56

Congratulations @mightymouse76 !

FoxMulder · 11/05/2017 09:00

Congratulations Adventure and mighty!! Whoo hoo! Hope you are both well.

Happy birthday Esme.

lullaby23 · 11/05/2017 09:20

Great to hear mighty congratulations!

PeachIcedT · 11/05/2017 09:30

Congratulations @Adventuregame! I think we had the same EDD so that has certainly made things seem more real to me!

Congratulations to @mightymouse76 on your baby too! I look forward to reading your birth story when you are able to post it, hope you have a speedy recovery.

Happy birthday @EsmesBees hope you enjoy your day with DH 🎉

Brightsmoke · 11/05/2017 10:05

Congratulations Mighty, looking forward to reading the brith story too!

Happy birthday Esme, hope your DH has something lovely planned for you :)
Scrubbing the floor was an attempt to get baby on the move, with all pains gone, I have no excuse not to, just had lots of tea breaks lol. Getting a new cleaner sounds like nesting to me too! I'd love a cleaner but I'm too OCD to allow one in to touch my things 😂🙈

Hope things are still moving in the right direction for you Dream, nothing further happening here, but still getting cramping so hopefully it all starts soon!

Tickyboovicki · 11/05/2017 10:12

Happy birthday @EsmesBees! Hope you get treated like a queen.

@WishIWasSleeping wow check you out! You sound like your doing amazingly well! I'm dreading other half going back to work and I'll only have the one. Think I might need to man up a bit 🙊

@mightymouse76 congratulations on the mini mighty! Can't wait to see pictures 😊

Badgerbird · 11/05/2017 10:12

Eeek! Congratulations adventure!!

mighty big congratulations to you too! Hope all going well.

Hello fellow sleepy preggo insomniacs . I too was awake in the night complaining to DH "my nose is full of snot, my throat is full of volcanic lava and my belly is full of baby!!"

Happy Birthday esme Cake Hope you have a fab day together :)

ticky Urgh that sounds like a nightmare to me! I'm quite a private person so that round be a problem for me too especially with new baby, hormones, exhaustion etc. I echo what what others have said about not answering all texts and getting some boundaries in place. Good luck!

wish she looks so snuggly in there, I love it. I got handed down a Moby wrap which looks kind of similar but plan on going to sling library to try a few when she's here too. Great that your DD likes it and you can get some stuff done!

Sipperskipper · 11/05/2017 10:16

Huge congrats adventure and mighty!!

teainbed · 11/05/2017 10:19

Lovely to get a wee flurry of babies on this thread! Was someone getting induced soon?

@WishIWasSleeping you sound like you're doing great! Well done on getting out. We've got BabyTea's follow up hearing test today so fingers crossed that's all fine.

I'm really trying not to wish time away but I can't help thinking 'in a few weeks/months it'll be better because...'

Any thoughts on exercise? I'm walking most days. 4 weeks post partum tomorrow. I'm desperate to do a bit of stretching or something but everything I read says 6 weeks. I know it's not long to wait!

Hang in there those of you who are still pregnant! Such a slog this stage. BrewCake

newbieho · 11/05/2017 10:22

Happy bitrthday @EsmesBees enjoy the day together with DH 🎉

@WishIWasSleeping I am very impressed with your going out schedule with DS and the newborn. Hopefully I can follow that with newbie baby once he's here.

Congratulations @mightymouse76 please let us know how he's going x

Tea breaks are a must @Brightsmoke during massive cleaning episodes 😄

Lazy day for me today, just a few bits and bobs to be done. Putting my feet up for the first time while being on mat leave!

WishIWasSleeping · 11/05/2017 10:46

Thanks @beachsands - with working and DD in nursery our routine was up and dressed, then cup of tea! That's still happening for her, my outfits are a little questionable though, and DS although was 8lb6oz is too long and skinny so I take him out in babygrows!
I'll make more of an effort to get all 3 of us dressed!
Congrats Mighty! - Hope you're recovering well.

Vicki - I actually find it easier to work things out when DH isn't here - then at least you know what's done and what isn't! Really looking forward to him coming home tonight though! Bathtime for the gremlins!!

@teainbed - swimming is ok once you've had 7 clear days of no bleeding I think. Even if you choose just to bob around in the pool with baby. I will say it's much easier to have two adults when you take a baby swimming though!

Thanks for the comments all - I will say it makes it easier that my newborn (DS) is very relaxed and dare I say lazy most of the time. I half hope this will continue until he gets to one and walking when I will want him to start hurrying up! Grin
It also helps as at 16mo my DD is swiftly becoming a noisy whirlwind! Grin Plus knowing that getting her to nursery even for 2 hours is a break for me an DS makes it worth it!

Not long now pregnant ladies! It's my DS's due date today. Crazy to think he is 2+4 born! Shock

teainbed · 11/05/2017 10:59

@WishIWasSleeping BabyTea has worn real clothes about twice I think! Babygro's all the way. Thought I feel a bit guilty about the ones we were given as gifts.

WishIWasSleeping · 11/05/2017 11:13

Ha! He's been in real cloths twice too I think. Nothing bloomin fits. I was all prepared for a big fat baby! How is 8lb6oz not big enough for 'newborn' clothes properly??!!
Although the newborn m and s vests fit lovely as he's quite long. Smile
I'm sure when he stops being quite so curly we'll have about 2 weeks before he grows out of everything!!! Grin

MrsJW15 · 11/05/2017 11:24

Congratulations @mightymouse76 and happy birthday @EsmesBees

I was awake 4.30-6.30 and started to wonder if something may be happening... but then tailed off again. Boo. Due date tomorrow!

RedBlu · 11/05/2017 11:47

I have been having period cramping type pains in the front of my stomach most of this morning. Don't think it's anything but it's a bit annoying as they are quite uncomfortable.

Also having major issues with sleeping as I am waking up every few hours with horrendous hip pains.

Not long to go now!

CoxsOrangePippin · 11/05/2017 11:53

mighty, adventure congratulations! Look forward to hearing more about your babies' first days and weeks.

wish, tea aren't babygrows real clothes? Confused

jennymac31 · 11/05/2017 11:56

Congratulations mightymouse and adventure!

Am in hospital waiting to be assessed. Started having contractions at 4am and felt a little gush of water at 6.30. Contractions have steadily been increasing in frequency and strength but cervix still appears to be closed however there also appears to be some meconium so having another examination to confirm what's going on.
