Thanks for the advice on early labour guys. Last time my plan was just to go with how I was feeling but when it came to it I didn't know what to do! I was knackered after a sleepless night so wanted to lie down but also didn't want to prolong it because I was knackered!

mrsjw I didn't realise it was starting for about the first 24 hours! Luckily DH was home because it was a Saturday. I don't know if I would know when to call him if it starts when he is at work.

beachsands · 09/05/2017 13:38

Good luck bouncing! Had appointment today and was very uncomfortable in the waiting room with lower back ache. Sweep was had and consultant was very happy with progress down there Blush. Small show so now it's the waiting game.

jennymac31 · 09/05/2017 14:09

Managed to get my crumpets (along with a tub of haargen-daaz ice cream for later).

Had midwife's appointment and baby has dropped a bit more. Midwife was reluctant to do stretch and sweep, which I had expected, so will see what the consultant wants to do when I go for my appointment on Thursday.

Hope you ladies are doing well.

Ghostonthedancefloor · 09/05/2017 14:19

Baby Ghost was born on Sunday on her due date!

I've read through the symptoms some of you are having so I'll post her birth story on the thread when I've got 5. I know what it's like googling every little thing to read up on! I think I had every "symptom" going so hope it will be of help so someone!

Congratulations to all the other post natal mums - and to everyone else, hang on in there, they are so so worth it Grin

CoxsOrangePippin · 09/05/2017 14:40

newbieho · 09/05/2017 14:42

Congratulations @Ghostonthedancefloor and good luck @beachsands x

Whoever started crumpets topic is blamed for the slight change in my today's diary and unexpected shopping trip to the supermarket 😆

teainbed · 09/05/2017 14:46

Congratulations @Ghostonthedancefloor !

Badgerbird · 09/05/2017 14:50

Congratulations beach and on time too!

teaspoon you can tell we're similar age, I have portishead abd massive attack on my play list Wink Good luck today!!

Oh god you're all getting me paranoid talking about waters smelling like semen as I'm sure I had some discharge/wetness that smelt a bit like that a few times Blush My friend was admitted last week after going in with migraines then they checked baby and she had hardly any water left! She didn't even know her waters had broken Shock

Good luck today beach bright and dream! Lots going on!!

tea that's great news Smile Did you keep waking up anyway though as half expecting him to be awake??

Got pool booked for delivery this week, trip to Ikea for baby's drawers and last min bits tomoz and just booked us a night away in Whitstable for Sunday. Not long now......

Badgerbird · 09/05/2017 14:51

Congratulations ghost! Not beach, I do apologise Blush

Badgerbird · 09/05/2017 14:51

MrsJW15 · 09/05/2017 15:06

Congratulations ghost and good luck beach!

teainbed · 09/05/2017 15:47

Hurrah! BabyTea has regained his birthweight finally - nurse was pleased with him. Growth line is still a bit flat but he's put on 140g in 6 days.

@lullaby23 are you in France?

@Badgerbird you sound like you're nearly ready! That's quite shocking about your friend. Shock

Ghostonthedancefloor · 09/05/2017 15:50

Thank you so much.

Have posted birth story. Be warned if you fancy a read - it's a bit long Blush

FoxMulder · 09/05/2017 16:08

Congratulations ghost!

Sipperskipper · 09/05/2017 16:23

Wonderful news ghost, congratulations!!!

Great news on the weight tea.

Good luck beach!!

Can someone post the link to the birth stories thread - I forgot to placemark!

Brightsmoke · 09/05/2017 16:24

Congratulations Ghost!

Back from sweep, am now 1cm dilated, but she said cervix is still 1cm thick and 1cm long, so she managed to sweep but I'm not expecting it to have worked :( but she couldn't reach cervix or babies head at all last week, so fingers crossed!

Hope you had more luck Dream, and yours sounds hopeful Beach, so fingers crossed things get going for you soon!

BouncingBlueberry · 09/05/2017 16:25

No baby here. Was kept in for monitoring for a bit and they think it might be the start of something but not enough to keep me in thank goodness. It was chaos in there today, think I'm just going to try and make baby wait till my induction date.

Brightsmoke · 09/05/2017 16:35

Oh, and induction booked for next Tuesday, a whole week to wait for things to start, then could still be days later 😩 why is this baby so comfy!

CoxsOrangePippin · 09/05/2017 17:08

sipper it's linked at the start of this thread

Rustler74 · 09/05/2017 17:13

@Ghostonthedancefloor well done! Can't wait to see a pic of baby ghost
@newbieho sorry that's me! Crumpets must be had these days!
@teainbed great news on baby weight. You must be chuffed.
Take it easy @BouncingBlueberry x best relax at home x

FoxMulder · 09/05/2017 17:27

Crumpets are way better than what I've been eating lately. Asda extra special cookies. Well good. Keep buying them in for the midwives then eating them all.

savagehk · 09/05/2017 17:40

Badger IKEA has metal sieves on sale, £1-something. I've bought a spare in case one is needed for the pool, although i think the doula has brought one in her pack anyway. Also got another spare plastic shower curtain (£3, but the cheapest was £1.50) and a few white towels spare (at least white i can try bleach!).

Rabbitykins55 · 09/05/2017 19:30

Went to Tesco and forgot to get crumpets! 😭

KLane · 09/05/2017 19:46

Maternity leave idle time makes one do crazy things. All this talk of crumpets and I thought- why not give it a go MAKING them? Not a compete disaster and they taste exactly like crumpets, but missing the lovely holes (and made a big mess that I can't be asked to clean up). I'd say I don't recommend it, but now I'm determined to master them before baby arrives so I think I'll have a good few hundred in the freezer by next week. Hmm

ClaireSunflower · 09/05/2017 20:01

@KLane you are a genius. I've been longing for crumpets after all this crumpet talk and I've not managed to make it to the shops yet. I'll try making a batch tomorrow. Yours look great! Smile
