Thank you for your advice everyone. @peasandquiet that's what I've got at the moment. I had a bit too much tea earlier, did a bit of coughing and eurgh. Can I have a shower before I go to triage? I can't bear the smell of whatever it is.

CoxsOrangePippin · 09/05/2017 08:50

newbieho thank you - I have ordered some pet remedy which I hadn't heard of, much more affordable than feliway!

teaspoon lots of luck!

peasandquiet · 09/05/2017 08:55

Bouncing, have a quick shower, grab some food and call them. If your not contracting they will want to book you for induction within 24-48hrs of when they went so perhaps read up on if you want that or monitoring while your in the waiting room or ask to discuss with the midwife. My contractions started about 2.5 hours after my waters went (baby delivered 5 hrs later) So it can be quite quick!!

1004Rise · 09/05/2017 08:57

@Teaspoon74 good luck!

@BouncingBlueberry definitely sounds like something going on - good luck!

Sipperskipper · 09/05/2017 08:57

Good luck bouncing, let us know how you are getting on.

Brightsmoke · 09/05/2017 09:13

Dream, it looks like it's only me and you (possibly Blossombottom, but dates are wrong way or in wrong place) left on our EDD now according to the spread sheet! Any signs for you? What time is your sweep? Super cute ducklings, I've very jealous! Hope they aren't tiring you out too much!

I've got a man here fixing our internet, then after my lovely 4 hour sleep and 3am wake up, I plan on a nap before my midwife appointment. Hoping my cervix has dropped enough for a successful sweep, might cry if it hasn't or the sweep fails 😂🙈

WishIWasSleeping · 09/05/2017 09:16

@peasandquiet - always above 130/95, not usually above 145/105. Like Rustler mentioned mine is always higher electronically- but only by a a few.
Got to about 160/108 with DD... they put me on medication and induced me 3 days later!
@nursebickypegs - it's a fun game working out what mood they are in each day isn't it! We got on brilliantly until just before DH and I got married... Grin

Hope your Induction is straightforward teaspoon.

I showered at home whilst waiting for babysitters to arrive this time after my waters had broken. I felt much better. But I had no contractions either. Pads were also pretty useless as when I started moving about in and out of the car I just soaked through them. It was a very new experience walking from the car park to the building at around 2am with wet thick pj bottoms on under my dress leaking at every step... Confused

Teaspoon74 · 09/05/2017 09:31

@dreamofhungarianlanterns re music - we did 3 Spotify playlists the other night: BabyBirth (think "push it" and "my sex is on fire"); BabyHi ("isn't she lovely" and "you are my world"); and BabyChill (lots of portishead & massive attack atm)!

@StandardLampski & @ShiniBerry & @Tickyboovicki & @SanitysSake & @WishIWasSleeping - huge congrats on your beautiful bubs!!!

And kudos to you @SouthPole - can't begin to imagine what it takes to do what you have done!!

Thanks @nigelsbigface - I know I would have struggled to get through the past nine months without the support, wisdom and chuckles from this group!!!

@ClaireSunflower yeah - stretch marks on sides of Belly, under boobs and to the side. And really painful patches of skin to either side of bump above pelvis at top of hips where the bump has dropped down. #joysofpregnancy!!

@nursebickypegs that pic is great - less chunky and more womanly curves. Nowt there to be at all self conscious about!!!!

@Barnes79 cute furbaby/ bump pic!

@crazyzooo thanks for the links - will have a proper look later today when booked in ;)

Any news @McBaby?

@MissMooMoo - at least you have nice neighbours!! And agree with PP - better. Ow than once bubs is here ;)

@Rustler74 we had water through into the living room 2 weeks ago - blew the electrics. The emergency plumber capped the leaky rad but now the boiler won't stay pressurised so there's a leak somewhere in the house. And each time we want hot water we have to repressurise and then lose another 2 litres of water somewhere. And no one can isolate where the problem is. TBH am leaving details from here on in to OH to sort. Haven't the headspace for it atm!!

Thanks all for best wishes. Just waiting for a call saying there's a bed ready and off we go ;)

peasandquiet · 09/05/2017 09:33

More babies are coming but the sounds of it all! Very exciting good luck to all with inductions and keep us posted bouncing hopefully if it is your waters then labour will kick off asap for you.

lullaby23 · 09/05/2017 09:53

Good luck with the induction teaspoon and sounds exciting bouncing. I have heard that waters smell like semen to some people I don't know if that's the offputting odour!

I had one really intense BH yesterday after waddling walking and shopping for an hour or so but nothing since, happy for baby to stay put until ELCS date Smile

BouncingBlueberry · 09/05/2017 09:54

So rang triage. Spoke to a lovely midwife who told me to get a shower, put a pad on and call back in two hours with an update on the pad. She said that if there is more leakage then they'll admit me and monitor due to the GD. Since having a shower I now have mild period pains and some normal for me braxtons. Baby isn't allowed yet, I haven't had any of the crumpets we got last night.

WishIWasSleeping · 09/05/2017 10:00

Ha! @lullaby23 - yes! I'd already forgotten about that. I leaked water on the bedroom floor and a few hours later when DH got home he said the bedroom smelt of good sex!

Oh bouncing you had to mention crumpets again... im just on my way out. Must try to buy some! You must eat at least 2 before baby comes!! Grin

Barnes79 · 09/05/2017 10:02

Good luck @Teaspoon74 and @BouncingBlueberry

Chuckled out loud at @BouncingBlueberry "I've not had the crumpets yet" comment 🤣

lullaby23 · 09/05/2017 10:07

wish 😂😂😂 glad someone else has heard of or thinks this otherwise would have looked very weird.

bouncing prioritise crumpets, absolutely, one in tinfoil for the hospital bag?? Even a cold buttered crumpet must be a treat after giving birth. Am now having to search my freezer for crumpets.

EsmesBees · 09/05/2017 10:11

How exciting teaspoon. Thinking of you

vanilla8 · 09/05/2017 10:15

Glad I'm not alone in crumpet addiction. Must be warburtons.
DH brought me sainsburys own and they were like cardboard Hmm

Sipperskipper · 09/05/2017 10:15

Wishing you all the best teaspoon!

dreamofhungarianlanterns · 09/05/2017 10:32

Good luck teaspoon and blueberry hope all goes well and keep us posted. Teaspoon amazing playlists Grin

Peach oh brilliant on the back flipping chick! Can we christen him Max (Whitlock) since his gymnastics skills saved his baldy little ass?!! Thanks for the duckling love all Smile

Bright good due date stat! Are you out there blossom??? It's quite surprising as we're not that late for first timers. Sweep is at 2.30, hoping exactly same as you. Woke up with a few pains right in fanny region but nowt else since then. Definitely feel like am going to appointment armed with good info re induction after yesterday's advice on this thread. Let us know how you get on.

jennymac31 · 09/05/2017 10:35

Morning ladies

Thought I'd catch up with the thread before posting anything.

Good luck teaspoon and bouncingblueberry!

Lullaby23 - I remember the waters smelling of semen when they went with dd.

Have got my midwife's appointment at lunchtime and am gonna ask for a stretch & sweep. My consultant suggested that I get it done but if it doesn't bring on labour then I've got my final growth scan on Thursday (when I'll be 39 weeks) and consultant will do another sweep along with 'other tests' (her words but she didn't go into any details as to what they could be). Dh is happy for baby to arrive any day now as it'll mean he would get out of having to work on Saturday or do his late shift next week!

Dd (and her nursery friends) is starting to get a bit impatient with baby boy's arrival especially as one mum at nursery had her baby the day before her maternity leave was due to start! Baby still weighed 6lb 8oz despite being 36+6.

Am off to buy some crumpets and see if I can have some before midwife's appointment.

teainbed · 09/05/2017 11:11

Good luck @BouncingBlueberry glad you got a nice midwife on the phone.

Good luck @Teaspoon74 hope it's a very straightforward induction for you.

@EsmesBees I get you can't wait! Commuting in late pregnancy sounds really hard.

Well the shock news from the Tea household is that there was no cluster feeding frenzy last night! Shock I fed him at 10 expecting that to be the start of the all night free bar and buffet but he went to sleep instead. Woke at 1 and 4 for a feed and went back to sleep again! Grin

teainbed · 09/05/2017 11:13

I love a crumpet but they're like rocket fuel to the pancreatically challenged amongst usso it's an occasional treat only. Waitrose ones are nice.

lullaby23 · 09/05/2017 11:34

I can only get M&S ones here and as they're imported they're really expensive so I end up buying the nearly out of date ones on sale and stocking the freezer Grin

Good news on baby night feeding tea that sounds really manageable especially for such a little one (as long as you're able to get back to sleep of course).

Rustler74 · 09/05/2017 12:13

In the massage chair having my feet done, chuckling at @BouncingBlueberry who wants baby to wait until the crumpets have been eaten!
@lullaby23 well done for getting imported crumpets still! M&S can't be bad!

MrsJW15 · 09/05/2017 12:19

Wish I'd read this before coming home and bought crumpets! Instead I just have cleaning stuff

Good luck @Teaspoon74! And @BouncingBlueberry that sounds exciting to me.

@CoxsOrangePippin, @RasperryInAMelon I must have just missed you. Was up until 3.30ish but everything was quiet on here. Baby was not quiet!

@Sonnet18 I'm sure you're right, but with all these mild contractions I keep thinking maybe... I also woke up annoyed to still be pregnant!

@Teaspoon74 Your playlists sound great!

Great news on the feeding @teainbed

Had about 5 hours sleep but decided to get up and go to yoga anyway. Asked her to help me get baby moving. More mild pains so we will see... I'm planning to clean the balcony furniture this afternoon then crash with a film. What shall I watch?!

Sonnet18 · 09/05/2017 12:28

Don't watch anything with childbirth in it! I made the mistake of watching one born last week and it all came flooding back to me/ gave me new things to fear! Something nice and lighthearted would be good!

My bump feels lower than before- I don't feel it's all squished up under my boobs so I'm hoping he's dropped a bit and is ready to make his appearance. Not sure how long they drop before labour though- it could be days yet I think.

Wonder if any babies will make an appearance today? Good luck to anyone with pre-labour symptoms! Hopefully these babies don't make us wait much longer!
