Question - I have been pondering weather to buy a sleepyhead but was thinking to leave it, see how baby settles before buying as at circa £150 I don't want to buy if not needed.

However have seen this on boots - all the cheaper ones I had seen were not suitable for overnight sleeping, the description of this one sort of suggests it is fine for overnight sleeping - but doesn't say that for definite. Anyone know if it is suitable for overnight sleeping as well as day time naps?

I bought the Elle tens machine off eBay for £20. Got some new pads for it which were only a few £

NurseBP - Fab pic, very neat bump! x
Sorry you've had to have a transfusion, but at least you're on the mend and that's best for baby too. x
Claire - I only got 4 stretch marks with my first, she was a neat little bump. This time round my bump was humongous and I haven't bothered counting. I could only see them in the mirror, except for 5 small ones just above my belly button. Confused
Northern- Glad baby Northern is growing well. I might try lying down feeding next week when DH returns to work as he'll be out of the house for 3 nights. I can't deal with all the bloody pillows at the moment!

Hope everyone else is feeling good. Had some sunshine today, so feeling good here, have attached a new photo of my little man for you all. x

Looks like very happy fella 😍 @WishIWasSleeping

RasperryInAMelon · 04/05/2017 23:13

@jennymac31 I've been the same with lots of definite tightenings throughout today. We're Leeds bound tomorrow for the wedding on the weekend so hospital bags will be in tow for sure!

@Barnes79 🤣🤣🤣

@Badgerbird I went to Aquanatal class this evening, bloody knackered for it now!

@nursebickypegs I think across MN and FB we have 12 so far!

Thanks all - looks like I can get a Tens on next day delivery as well. Assuming nothing happens over night I will order one! Might help with backache at this point too.

Mrspage1985 - I bought the 'cosydream' by babymoov as it can be used overnight and was only £40.

Morning all. Exciting to see all the new babies Flowers

I can't believe I am on day 10 of having an actual real life baby..!! Just thought I'd share some blurry/sleepy/1st time mum insight...

My antenatal ward was great at QMC Nottingham (had to be 're admitted so got to sample it twice) but I would definitely bring lots of food. I was soooo hungry!! I NEEDED small sachets of nuts/fruit, flap jacks, porridge pots and loads of water. As for clothes - we had to go out and buy some tiny as wasn't prepared for a 36 week baby- even though he was 6.3 which is fairly decent. Bring loads of maternity pads, knickers and muslins !!

At home the sleepyhead, grobag newborn swaddle bag and my pregnancy pillow (breast feeding) has been my absolute best buys. Oh and a couple of sets of "cheeky wipes" as it's way easier to scrape poo off the baby with something textured..!

Good luck everyone. It's all worth it when you get your baby (and I do not consider myself a child friendly sort....). I look forward to seeing you all in a post natal thread!!

CoxsOrangePippin · 05/05/2017 03:43

Thanks for the tips from the other side crazy!

Re sleepyheads etc we saw friends with a 6m old at the weekend who said they had tried all the cheaper options first but ended up with a sleepyhead as the others didn't work for them - only by then they'd spent a lot more money! Shock Grin

SanitysSake · 05/05/2017 04:16

And I thought it was all going so well and then this little bundle joined us a week early. 7lbs on the nose.

The birth was horrific and I'll update another time, but in the meantime, I thought I'd let you know I've officially become a mummy to the most beautiful thing in the world. SO SO in love!

Lots of love and best wishes to you all. Hoping you're all still doing okay?

Sanity and Giraffe xx

Congratulations @sanitysSake!💐
Honestly, late pregnancy insomnia is a cherished memory, now I have a small human that will only sleep ON me from 3am onwards...

newbieho · 05/05/2017 05:00

@crazyzooo thanks for the tips, very handy.

@SanitysSake congratulations, Giraffe looks so sweet...

WishIWasSleeping · 05/05/2017 06:23

teainbed · 05/05/2017 06:33

EsmesBees · 05/05/2017 07:11

Congratulations sanity. That's one beautiful baby. Is it a girl or boy giraffe?

mrscrocopop · 05/05/2017 08:12

Congratulations sanity! Beautiful!

lullaby23 · 05/05/2017 08:21

Congratulations sanity! Sorry the birth was tough & hope you're recovering well. Lovely picture 😍

FoxMulder · 05/05/2017 08:27

Congratulations sanity!

Badgerbird · 05/05/2017 08:35

sanity congratulations! Sorry to hear you had a horrific birth, glad you are both now safe and sound and all loved up :)

Gorgeous gorgeous wish :) That looks like one happy little chap!

Aqua aerobics is great isn't it raspberry! Love the light feeling and music :) I didn't know I was going to get an emergency nanny job looking after a 20 month old that afternoon and end up walking round the park for an hour too though! I slept really well!! :) Hope you had a good sleep too and enjoy the wedding.

That looks good jenny. I was looking at the purflo too mrspage (to put in cot bed next to us) but looks like we're getting a bednest now so won't need one..... I say that like I know what I'm talking about?!? Confused

crazy thanks so much for sharing, it's really helpful :)

EsmesBees · 05/05/2017 08:51

badger. Yours may be different, but We used the sleepyhead inside the bednest. She wouldn't sleep in it otherwise. They are quite large for a newborn.

vanilla8 · 05/05/2017 09:24

I plan on using my sleepyhead inside our Knuma Huddle co-sleeper (if required)
Thankfully I picked it up with some amazon gift vouchers which helped

Congrats @SanitysSake

teainbed · 05/05/2017 09:27

I'm sure you know this but in case you don't, there was a safety alert with the Bednest. The side is either to be fully up or fully down and not in the half up half down position. Also the tilt is supposed to be max 5cm.

BabyTea is 3 weeks old today! Physically I feel pretty good, bleeding has stopped, back in my old clothes. Feeding hasn't been 100% straightforward which was a surprise to me, but just goes to show experience doesn't always count for much! Thankfully I think we're getting it right finally. BabyTea has slept x2 3 hour sessions the last 2 nights which probably doesn't sound much but has really helped. Main challenges are giving all the DC some attention but they've really been amazing and not complaining about the change in pace. It helps that they're all at school I think.

lucieloos · 05/05/2017 09:30

Congrats sanity, lovely pic!

I'm using sleepyhead inside snuzpod.

dreamofhungarianlanterns · 05/05/2017 09:32

Congratulations Sanity sorry you had a hard time but it's rather comforting to hear that it sounds like the love has already replaced the experience as what is important. Hope you are recovering well Flowers

Gorgeous photo wish, who says babies don't smile for weeks?! Wink

My mum brought round the diary that she kept in her pregnancy and after birth with me last night, I read my own birth story! Despite the emergency transfer from MLU to hospital (which obviously I've heard a million times) it was beautiful in the way she wrote about it. She also found a really cute pair of dungarees that had been my little brothers and were a gift from my uncle whom I adore which may be our babies coming home outfit Smile
