Dream, I've had a lovely relaxed day doing nothing. See previous message RE reduced movements, but baby is having a party now 🙄🤔

Don't feel any closer to having baby anytime soon though. Have you had anything different? It's a bit gutting really isn't it 😂

newbieho · 03/05/2017 21:06

@ClaireSunflower so far I've noticed stretch marks on my hips/bottoms. Not sure about the bump as I cannot see anything down there (bump is too big & too low).

teainbed · 03/05/2017 21:39

@nigelsbigface that's lovely! Actually since I joined MN a few years ago I got involved in another thread and met a wonderful group of women. We are now all really close friends and meetup lots.

rose7120 · 03/05/2017 21:53

Just popping in to say Hello! I posted earlier on in the thread, but struggled to stay up to date. Thought I'd post more now I'm on maternity, but er become a little lazy! I've been reading though. My due date is tomorrow. I have a sweep appo, but he's back to back so am not sure how much I want it. Although from what I read it's more likely he'll move in early labour now.

I have stretch marks under my bump. Big angry ones that have appeared in the last week. They have really aggravated my skin as well, but bio oil and aloe Vera is helping.

Congratulations to those who've had babies!!

beanturnipandspud · 03/05/2017 21:53

Congratulations to the new mummies & beautiful babies 👶🏼

@Badgerbird we got our homebirth kit delivered yesterday too. So exciting. Yet I am so not ready for this baby. I still feel as though there should be months left not mere weeks!

@nigelsbigface your post has made me really emotional. Thank you for your lovely words 💖

@ClaireSunflower stretch marks .... I am covered in them. Although I haven't got any new ones this time I got all mine with bean. They start purple and then fade to silver overtime. They used to bother me but now they don't. 👌🏻

This is the first thread I have been involved in and I lobe the support we all give each other. 💖 thank you ladies.

As for baby being close ... this mummy is not ready for this pregnancy to end. I know spud is our last baby ... we went for a growth scan yesterday and I had a little cry as I said to DH that this is the last time we will see spud before we meet him, DH replied "this is the last time we will ever sit in this waiting room" ... it all became very real to me.
This baby will have all the last firsts and I am not sure I am ready for this yet. I really am enjoying my bump and treasuring every moment with him and his beating heart growing inside of me. 💙
So growth scan shows he is measuring great ... estimates to weigh 7lb on the spot at the moment. We are 37wks tomorrow, I am bridesmaid on Saturday and we are looking to move house within the next 2 weeks 👍🏼😊
Had midwife apt yesterday too and spud is 4/5 engaged, which mw was surprised at as apparently 2md & 3rd babies don't tend to engage until labour is imminent.

Day with turnip tomorrow, we are having a girly day of dress fittings, and beauty treatments ready for the wedding on Saturday 💖💁🏼💅🏼

beanturnipandspud · 03/05/2017 21:54

*love not lobe

MrsJW15 · 03/05/2017 22:04

So far no stretch markets - fingers crossed it stays that way. I think they may be coming though.

Bright when I went in today, the MW really emphasised that we should call or go if there was reduced movement. I was really tired though so failed to ask about the bum sticking out/Braxton Hicks thing. But I think I'd definitely call or go in if I was worried - better to check!

We are so lucky with this thread - hope we keep it up and have some more real life meet ups when the babies are here!

Badgerbird · 03/05/2017 22:07

Thanks for sharing hypnobirthing tracks dream. I'm doing the Jenny Mullen course (anyone else?) and not impressed with it and the quality of recordings are awful.

I agree with esme too barnes. Sorry to hear it's gone a bit Confused My bday was a bit like that too, I do understand the frustration.

bright glad baby is wiggling around safe and sound.

Have a fab girly day tomorrow bean I know you will Smile

Ended up going to triage to stay with a new friend from yoga who had been admitted as hardly any fluid left around baby. She was on her own bless her. She didn't even know her waters had broken. She's been kept in and induced tomoz. She's due 10 days before me with her first and it made me get my arse in gear and I managed to track down a 2nd hand cot bed on Facebook for £30 that I'm picking up at wknd!! Especially after last nights aches, pains and nausea...

Now maybe I should pack a birth/hospital bag too really....

lullaby23 · 04/05/2017 02:18

Glad babies are the right way round for you esme & peach

barnes I think you deserve a special birthday for your last one as a twosome. I know it's not quite the same making the suggestions yourself but hope it is something you will enjoy.

No new stretch marks here but first pregnancy ones are more noticeable now still silvery just stretched out.

nursebickypegs · 04/05/2017 06:28

Hello ladies! Been in hospital with low iron; despite taking the tablets 4 times a day. One blood transfusion done and I'm feeling better, may need another before baby arrives. I thought I was doing so well! They also want to do another GTT while I'm here because of my weight Angry but I guess that's what you get for having another new set of midwives. I was a little naughty and refused to go into hospital over the bank holiday weekend - I know how hospitals work, I wouldn't see my consultant etc - but finally gave up and felt bloody awful by Monday afternoon.

Also no one knows why I'm getting headaches. Angry

Anyways home today, I'm going to try and stop at aldi to get some stuff; apparently there cot sheets fit the Chico next to me... let's see how I feel first.

I took a bump photo before I was admitted and I'm really proud of It! I have such huge self confidence issues, pregnancy hasn't helped at all as I feel "fat". Anyways I love this photo.

nursebickypegs · 04/05/2017 06:30

Stretch mark wise; I have a few on my lower tummy but that's it. I was expecting to be covered; my mum is after having me and so was my Nana. I put it down to already being a chubby bunny Wink

newbieho · 04/05/2017 06:34

You look great @nursebickypegs ! Low iron level makes you feel crap, glad to hear you've got it taken care off. Hopefully you will get better soon Flowers

nursebickypegs · 04/05/2017 06:43

@newbieho I have never felt so ill... I felt so bad that I just cried! The care I've had has been lovely though. Just gutted I can't donate blood now. Sad

EsmesBees · 04/05/2017 07:56

nurse you look fab. Not fat at all! Sorry about your hospital stay but glad you are feeling so much better.

That's exactly how I feel about this pregnancy bean. It's the last one for us too, and I too am not ready for it to be done yet either.

RasperryInAMelon · 04/05/2017 08:12

@coxsorangepippin will look up this figure 4 stretch

@ClaireSunflower touch wood I haven't got any stretch marks just yet, but feel like I'm waiting on the arrival them... I've suffered with IBS for years and DH recons my body is so used to swelling up that's why I've been lucky with them?

@Barnes79 I'd say something too, then there's chance for it to be rectified

Good luck at your scan today @Rustler74

@Brightsmoke pleased everything went ok at the DAU in the end

@beanturnipandspud 💕 now you're making me feel emotional and I've hopefully got more to come yet! But it does make you realise how lucky we all are ☺️

@nursebickypegs you look great!!

lullaby23 · 04/05/2017 08:14

nurseb sorry you had to have a transfusion but glad you're being looked after, your bump is very neat!

Barnes79 · 04/05/2017 08:22

Spoke to not so DH about birthday irritation and he just got all defensive saying we don't normally book days off work for each other's birthday. I told him that wasn't the point - it was that he'd consider having half a day off on my birthday to see my dad, not to see me. He doesn't get it. 😕 Oh well, I'll just spend the day eating cake...

Barnes79 · 04/05/2017 09:10

I've put this on the bump thread too but thought it was just too cute - fur baby insisted on being in the photo too ☺️

1004Rise · 04/05/2017 09:31

@nigelsbigface what a lovely thing to post, I'm in full agreement with everyone else I don't know what I would have done without this group and it's really nice to know that some of your group are still in contact 10 years on (trying not to imagine my bump at 10!! 😳)

Re stretch marks, I don't have any (yet) I made DH search the bottom of my bump because I was paranoid that they were all hiding where I couldn't see them! I do feel like it's more when than if though.

I think I might now know the difference between BH and baby stretching, I think I got woken up by BH last night, not painful but uncomfortable enough to get me out of bed.... definitely felt more like getting squeezed than getting pushed from the inside iyswim.

I definitely need this baby to stay put for a little longer, at least til after the weekend (38+1 today) our house currently has some very efficient removal men swarming all over it packing stuff in boxes at a rapid rate. I'm just trying to stay out of the way!

@nursebickypegs that's a lovely photo, you should be proud! Sorry you ended up with a blood transfusion, hope you feel better now. Low iron is rubbish, I didn't realise how bad I was feeling until they got me on the tablets and mine wasn't even that low 😞 So I can't imagine how rubbish you've felt 💐

@Barnes79 how are (is?) the shingles? Eating cake all day on your birthday sounds like a plan. Think speaking to DH was as good idea, he may just need to have a bit of time to think about it!

Although I started maternity leave last Friday it doesn't really feel like it yet, just feels like I've taken a week off work to move! Hopefully next week will be more relaxing!

@beanturnipandspud hope you're having a fabulous girly day!!

Northernexile · 04/05/2017 11:05

Congrats vicki, standard and shini on the lovely May babies! Hope you are all doing well and are home quickly.

I'm also getting sore from sitting and feeding at night, so now my cs wound is feeling better I have started feeding him lying down rather than getting out of bed into a chair and I'm getting a lot more rest. Babynorthern is now over his birth weight, hv came out on Tuesday and he was 6lb 11 (from 6lb 8), so pleased about that. Went and got him registered yesterday and got his passport photos taken as we are going good away know August. He was very good!
Hope everyone with aches, pains and illness has a good day- it does all get better once they're out!

Northernexile · 04/05/2017 11:06

Going away in August that should say - I really cannot feed and type!

MrsJW15 · 04/05/2017 11:10

Hello ladies, just relaxing after the most amazing pregnancy massage. Feeling wonderfully relaxed although it hasn't done anything for the pain at the back of my ribs which I think must be to do with baby's position. I cried last night I was so uncomfortable.

@CoxsOrangePippin I do like that stretch but finding it much harder to reach to do it now - bump gets in the way!

@nursebickypegs you look great! Sorry to hear about the iron levels.

Oh @Barnes79 so frustrating! Although a day eating cake sounds great.

CoxsOrangePippin · 04/05/2017 11:26

mrsjw agree, and I said goodbye to pigeon pose months ago!

Rustler74 · 04/05/2017 11:30

Just been to last scan and planned consultant appointment. Scan good although baby deviating upwards from the 90th percentile and current weight 3.500kg, just over 7lbs.

Not that much wiser. Home now but Still not seen the consultant as this was a junior doctor (nothing against junior doctors but you'd have thought that out of 3 appointments, 1 would have been with the consultant herself! 😡)
She was good at discussing the risks of a birth of a bigger baby 👶. I'm a children's physio, I see the results of a bad birth, my image is already twisted towards the negative so that was not what I needed to hear. Also when I pointed out that estimated weight at 39 weeks (induction date) wouldn't even exceed 9lbs, she said, ah yes that's not so bad indeed. Again my TSH was on the low side (lower than threshold) so I asked if I needed to lower the dose of thyroxine again and she had to go ask consultant anyway but that was not the case.
Anyway induction booked for 19th (will get call for morning with time to come in) and received leaflet with brief information about the process.
Oh and I need to see gp as reduced air entry in right lower lobe of my lung. She only auscultated after I'd said I was still a bit short of breath even if my bump had dropped. Unless I start coughing more I'll just be fine thanks 🙏.
I told them that I needed to be informed every step of the way and that I found it important to be taken seriously when I'm in.

BouncingBlueberry · 04/05/2017 11:42

@Rustler74 I've got a growth scan and diabetes clinic this afternoon. Hopefully I get to meet my consultant, my midwife is lovely but I'd like to meet the person in charge if that makes sense. Hopefully going to get a date for induction.
