Saw the midwife this morning, and she thought I was probably having BH. They are getting pretty uncomfortable though! Baby still 3/5 engaged - so no progress. Although I'm sure baby feels lower. I'm back next week on my due date, so may ask if the can do a sweep then if there's no progress.

MrsCrocopop I'm having similar problems. Sleeping on a blanket or duvet helps a bit - I get pains in my hips and ribs. I also have lots of pillows around but I often wish I had something that I could lean against to support my back. If only beds had that! The MW said I could try paracetamol.

Dream I should probably try that when I'm awake in the night. I tried music last night but it didn't achieve anything.

WishIWasSleeping · 03/05/2017 14:48

Fab news Esme... Smile
And another bouncing baby - well done Vicki. x

Did we get a 1st May baby? I think we skipped that day for a birth?

WishIWasSleeping · 03/05/2017 14:54

Tea - I'm having similar issues with the sitting pain. I don't want to get out of bed for the night feed, but find it so uncomfy to sit in bed. (Have always thought that though!) and we have a brand new mattress with a memory topper too! If I remember I think for me it eases up when the bleeding stops as it's easier to shift a couple of inches without worrying you're knocking your pad out of place!
Had a mw check today. They happy with jaundice for now and we have another check on Monday. (They didn't use a checker!) they said if not lower on Monday (going to surgery) he'll be referred for bloods. I'm very glad I read about yours or that would have sent me into a stress! xx

Brightsmoke · 03/05/2017 14:56

I have a hypnobirthing track that I was sent after NHS confident birthing session. Happy to send it over if anyone wants it, send me your email :)

Barnes79 · 03/05/2017 14:58

Back from hospital - BP all okay and got to listen to LOs heartbeat for an hour so they could monitor movements etc. Now off to sit in the sunshine in the garden.

MissMooMoo · 03/05/2017 15:00

I am still around, mostly reading as the thread moves so quickly!! Congrats on all the baby news to all Smile

Has anyone heard from @mightymouse76 ?
Hoping she is well!

teainbed · 03/05/2017 15:03

Excellent news @EsmesBees ! Full steam ahead for you now!

No I don't think there was a Mayday baby.

Glad you had a nice evening @dreamofhungarianlanterns

@WishIWasSleeping it's so uncomfortable isn't it! I would try lying down to feed except I've had a few latch issues and sitting up seems to be the only way to get it really right for just now. I've been Googling special cushions, am sorely tempted. Fingers crossed your wee ones jaundice settles.

The health visitor came this morning, BabyTea is slowly putting on weight but has still not regained his birthweight. She was not concerned though and is coming back next week.

mrscrocopop · 03/05/2017 15:54

Barnes - sounds like you're having a bit of a stressful day! Glad the BP turned out ok. Please don't worry about asking about hips - I'm seeing my midwife tomorrow so will ask her then.
MrsJW - I am getting the picture that more padding is the only real option. I have done some pregnancy yoga today - focussing on hips - in the hope this might help too. Will let you know...
Tea - glad babyTea is putting weight!

I have had a busy day - washing, cleaning, dog walking - and am now vegged on the sofa watching shite telly. Bliss.

nigelsbigface · 03/05/2017 16:32

Just gatecrashing a bit to say hello and wish you all well-I joined MN for the May 07 thread-one of the best things I ever did-I've actually got two very good RL friends that I met via that thread and still in touch with lots of others on fb etc.
It's been making me feel a bit sentimental seeing your thread pop up on the active list, as our May 07 babies are now of course all turning 10, so not babies anymore GrinSad.
Just wanted to wish you all the best of luck and lots of love for your own May babies Smile

PeachIcedT · 03/05/2017 16:44

I am back from the midwife - went there for the first time with the feeling of anxiety about having an oblique lie. Midwife firstly confirmed 'lots of feet' in my upper side, but then found that head is down! When I asked how come I feel a pushing sensation on my left hip bone she thinks it's a shoulder - I hold DH's wide shoulder genetics firmly to account for my stress here! Also, in 2 weeks, baby has gone from free to 4/5 engaged. I'm mostly surprised that I notice no difference at all, neither in bump height nor building pressure. I'm booked for a sweep in two weeks time.

I'm so pleased to hear that your baby is in the right position Esmes and thanks for the lovely message nigels, this group has been and is a great support network, and it's wonderful that 10 years on you are still in touch with some of yours!

newbieho · 03/05/2017 16:48

Great news re baby position @PeachIcedT 🎉

It is so nice of you @nigelsbigface to drop a note on our thread. I echo @PeachIcedT the group is very supportive and I hope we will stay in touch after the babies arrive.

newbieho · 03/05/2017 16:49

....and I cannot use bold font properly Hmm

pennysays · 03/05/2017 16:57

For those of you after hypno birthing tracks. Mindful mama has three free ones and they're actually my favourite of all of the ones I own (four different sets).

MrsJW15 · 03/05/2017 16:59

Peach that makes sense. I get a lot of bashing inside my hips at the moment, and baby has been 3/5 engaged for a while. So a shoulder is logical - I was worried baby had moved, but MW said today that it hasn't.

RasperryInAMelon · 03/05/2017 17:53

@mrscrocopop I find the same, if I'm sat upright for too long then I need to pee alllll the time!

Massive congratulations @Tickyboovicki - that's a proud as punch daddy there!

Glad all went well @EsmesBees

@nigelsbigface that's so lovely! ☺️ 4 of us actually went for lunch yesterday so there have been a few RL meet ups, scary to think that we'll probably have babies the next time we see one another!

@PeachIcedT pleased it all went well with the MW and LO is head down! Hooray!

I've ended up doing nothing but napping on and off today. DH is going to a friends to watch the football tonight so we'll head for a bath and relax for a few hours on my own ☺️

CoxsOrangePippin · 03/05/2017 18:10

nigels that's lovely!

Those with hip pain I'm finding a figure 4 stretch for the piriformis is a bit helpful, at least for the pain I have there while standing/walking

ClaireSunflower · 03/05/2017 20:00

@mrscrocopop I can sympathise as I have bad hip pain at night too. I haven't found anything that alleviates it unfortunately other than getting up and walking around a bit.

@PeachIcedT glad to hear baby is in the right position now.

Slightly personal question but can I ask what everyone's stretch mark situation is? I've had them on my hips and small ones under boobs for a while now but in the last week I've noticed a few under the bump. I'm not hugely bothered as there is little I can do about it and if that's the price you pay for having a healthy full term baby then that's fine by me, although hopefully they will fade a little after the birth!

savagehk · 03/05/2017 20:08

Rather dark purply ones in the middle of my bump. And i suspect more underneath. They went away last time though (although my belly button has never been the same and i suspect my stomach will always be a bit saggy)

FoxMulder · 03/05/2017 20:17

My back is killing me! It's one muscle down the left side. Only ok when I lie down. Started on Monday after an hour in the car Sad

vanilla8 · 03/05/2017 20:20

Congrats @ShiniBerry and @Tickyboovicki Flowers

I'm getting hip pain too, midwife told me to make sure I take paracetamol.

I'm waiting for the stretch marks on belly to arrive, I've had some on my boobs and hips since I was younger anyway, but no new ones as yet. Two of my friends said they got theirs in weeks 39-40

Barnes79 · 03/05/2017 20:26

Re: stretchmarks - none, yet. But I do have the miracle teeny bump (now 29cm fundal height at 36 weeks) so I'm sure it's just a matter of time. I do have shingles instead though if that's any consolation 😳🤔

A bit of a rant (so stop reading now if you don't want to read something non-baby related). A bit of an AIBU?? It's my birthday on Monday and my DH doesn't know what to get me so I suggested a meal out at the weekend, chocs, flowers etc as I can't think of anything either. So after days of me asking if we're going for dinner or not he books something tonight for Saturday. I just feel like I've had to remind him to book somewhere (plus I had to pick where to go) so not really such a treat. Also, my dad suggested visiting me on Monday but he wanted to check DH hadn't planned anything with me. I asked DH if he had anything planned or if he was having the day off and he said no, but perhaps he could have the afternoon off as he'd like to see my dad. Note, he doesn't consider having the afternoon off for my birthday, it's because my dad would be visiting. I kind of feel a bit peeved and in a bit of a funk with DH. AIBU? Should I tell him why I'm in a funk or should I just get over it?

Rustler74 · 03/05/2017 20:37

Not been on MN all day, (only some fb earlier) no energy left now to catch up, so prob going to bed ASAP.
Growth scan and consultant tomorrow. Belly has dropped a bit overnight so breathing is slightly easier but I think I'm coming down with that cold that has been knuckling on my door for the last 2-3 weeks.
Night all and congrats again @Tickyboovicki xxxx Flowers

EsmesBees · 03/05/2017 20:48

Fat, red stretch marks under the bump here. Just arrived (37wks). Didn't get any the first time before the birth, but some appeared afterwards but faded pretty quickly.

Good news your little one is also in the right position Peach.

Sorry your back is playing up fox.

Barnes definitely say something! And I would do it soon so he has a chance to do something about it and make it up to you.

dreamofhungarianlanterns · 03/05/2017 21:02

Sorry would have been a much more useful suggestion with a link to a relaxation/ hypnobirthing track Blush lilypad and others www.mindful-hypnobirthing.co.uk has 3 free tracks including a 30 minute one that I've been going to sleep to - it wouldn't matter if you've never heard of hypnobirthing and don't intend to use it, it's just relaxing and the affirmations can't hurt Smile

Barnes, I second what Esmes says

nigels what a lovely thing to pop by and say, thank you

bright how's your due date day been? I've had some lovely messages and just been for a walk round the village (and accidently fell into the pub for an early bird dinner) and done some fantastic
'oh when's it due?'
'today'
'whhaattt!!' Shock conversations Grin

Brightsmoke · 03/05/2017 21:03

Very light stretch marks on my boobs, and some deeper around my belly button here. Had nothing until about 37/38 weeks, and then suddenly all appeared overnight!

Just got back from day assessment unit with reduced movement. Dawned on me that I hadn't felt baby move much during the day, so monitored at home for about 90 mins, and still nothing. Typically when I got in, baby was having a party 🙄 but glad I went in to put my mind at ease. Had a few largeish BH/belly hardenings when in so hoping this might mean baby is imminent! Doubt it though 😂
