Esme & tea - know exactly what you mean. Am sick of wearing my maternity jeans and leggings. Have only got a couple of nice maxi dresses bur don't want to wear them in case bump stretches them out (possibly planning on wearing them for summer weddings). There are a couple of cheap & cheerful clothes shops opposite where I live so might pop to see if there's anything to tied me over.

Really need to get some comfy flat shoes but haven't seen anything that I like. No laces or straps, just something I can easily slip in and out of. Dh keeps showing me things that are practical but not very fashionable. I might have to take the 'comfort before style' approach this time round.

Teaspoon74 · 08/04/2017 11:49

I've been given free tix to the Baby Show at Sandown Park tomorrow so we're heading down to look at baby carriers and feeding systems and travelcots.

Cinnamon - are you headed to the same show?

Esmes - am also convinced that bubs has dipped down and stared engaging. Yesterday I must have peed a good 15 times! With four weeks and 10 commuting days left I'm not looking forward to getting to 3/5 and more!!!

Loving the doggy pics and sympathies to folk dealing with behavioural stuff (hugs Barnes). Slightly worried our two cats will either take against (they can scratch) or maybe like too much (they're both around 6.5kg so a. It much if they try and sleep on top of bubs like they do with me!!!). Separation is the only way, really. Sounds like you're doing all the right things BrewCake

On the ice cream front - you know you can get G&T flavoured ice cream from Ocadao, right?!? www.ocado.com/webshop/product/Judes-Gin--Tonic-Dairy-Ice-Cream/285934011?dnr=y

Wish "trying not to eat" lol! ;) you'll be fine. Not long to go now.

MrsJW15 · 08/04/2017 12:02

Also sick of my clothes and not much fits! Work stuff is hardest but I only have a few days in the office left. I ordered a couple of ASOS bits yesterday (there's a sale) and I'm looking out for bf friendly stuff.

I had free tickets for that baby show but can't face going! Planning to pack the hospital bag instead.

ClaireSunflower · 08/04/2017 13:03

Sounds like you're doing all the right things Barnes. Good luck with it. Hopefully it's just the dog picking up on a funny smell/hormones etc. My cat has become excessively clingy to me in the last week. I think there must be so many things animals pick up on that we don't.

I'm worried about how my cat will react to the baby. She is lovely to me but can be quite nasty to other people, including dh. We played the sound of a newborn on YouTube to see her reaction and she bit dh and ran off! She is currently an indoor only cat as we were living in a flat on a main road in Whitechapel when we got her but may transition her to being an outdoor cat if she finds it too stressful being around a baby all the time. I'm quite worried about it but we'll just have to wait and see what happens

1004Rise · 08/04/2017 14:10

Clothes are boring!! So sick of the same outfits and they're not really comfortable anymore... I'm most comfortable in dresses but they involve tights. Longing for my jeans and hoodies, my heels and things that just aren't tight Sad (should probably stay away from ice cream....)

EsmesBees · 08/04/2017 14:34

That's a really good idea raspberry except I just wore normal clothes when I was feeding last time, so not sure any new dresses would be worth it.

You are all bad influences. I really wanted an ice cream on my way home from my walk getting DD to sleep. It was only my ridiculous bladder that made me head home.

Claire I was worried about how my cats would react (I even bought them some of that feliway destressing stuff Blush). They were fine! They are all good friends now (mostly).

PeachIcedT · 08/04/2017 16:32

I very much get the clothes frustration. I have one pair of over bump jeans and one of over bump leggings, but the over bump bit, whilst being cosy in winter is now making me too hot. Also everything is grey, black or dark blue! Not very summery. I have bought a couple of nursing dresses but even with those wardrobe is severely limited. I've got 3 x 4 day weeks left so if I can get away with cycling through the same 4 outfits each week I will.

I've done my last weekend shift woohoo! The 12 day countdown is now on Smile

Tickyboovicki · 08/04/2017 17:17

Also having a major clothing dislike right now Angry along with a huge confidence crisis which is probably more the issue. Been fine throughout but today I feel huge, unattractive and horrific. Which is not great when I have no clothes that fit or look nice, and a (reasonably posh) party to go to tonight. Emotional wreck!

PeachIcedT · 08/04/2017 17:30

Finally got all my newborn size clothes on the line! 😊

Put out the last of the baby washing on the line! Such perfect weather.

I had the clothing dilemma a few weeks back. I'm now living in leggings, vest tops and my plaid shirts. I love my over the bump jeans, but like you said @PeachIcedT; they are getting too hot for this weather. I've bought a denim dungaree dress to wear in the hot hot summer as it's long enough for me to wear my chub rub boxers underneath and get the pins out!

I have no body confidence to begin with; I'm a size 16/18 and 5ft8. I'm always taller and bigger than my friends, and since I met DH 7 years ago, I've gained weight. I use to be a size 14. I'd like to get back to that once Bub arrives. I've gained about 10lbs during this pregnancy, but I put that down to me already being plus size to begin with.

I got some jersey wrap dresses from Dorothy Perkins which are nursing ones at well; really flattering and can dress up or down. New look have jersey maxi dresses in which I lived in when we went to Florida!

@EsmesBees @Teaspoon74 well I thought I peed a lot before but now I'm ALWAYS peeing!! And it's tiny kitten wees!

@teainbed Mine was 5.7 to start, and 6.1 after. OBGYN said I was just under, but I beg to different tbh.

@RasperryInAMelon Ooh a pedi!! Didn't think of that. I'll add it to the list. I might see if I can get a massage too. I bet it would feel amazing.

Sipperskipper · 08/04/2017 18:19

Loving the clothes on the line!!

nurse only 10lb?! I've put on over 2 stone, and was 1.5 stone overweight to begin with!

I've been living in over the bump maternity jeans & tshirts. A lot of my pre-pregnancy dresses still fit somehow, so wearing them too. (They are stretchy though!).

In the garden I just whip my jeans off & lay there in my knickers - luckily we are not overlooked!

CinnamonTwist · 08/04/2017 18:50

Teaspoon, yes it's that one! I'm hoping to get a snuzzpod as I think they've got a deal on. I'm going with my 2 sisters (one who has recently had a baby) mum and cousin (who is due her baby in June) so we will be on a girls bargain hunting mission! Not sure what time we are planning on getting there yet.

ClaireSunflower · 08/04/2017 18:58

I am also hating all my clothes at the moment. Work clothes in particular are difficult as I feel like they are all really tight and too hot for the warmer weather. With 8 working days left I'm not going to buy anything else though.

Home clothes are ok. I tend to just wear leggings and a top. I bought 5 maternity/nursing dresses from jojomamanbebe a few weeks ago so that has helped me have something to wear if I'm going somewhere

EsmesBees · 08/04/2017 19:33

Bit of a moan coming ladies I'm afriad. I am just simply done in. Late pregnancy and a toddler does not agree with me. We've barely left the garden all day, and she's been as good as gold. But I am simply exhausted. It's the constant 'come with me mummy' and the getting up and down to get her things, and the inadvertent tummy bashing as she climbs all over me. Even when she's in the bath I don't get to sit down these days as she wants me to draw on the bath with her bath crayons. I basically gave up at 5.30 and put cbeebies on til bed time. But then I feel guilty as I love her so much and she's amazing and I'm so lucky to have her. I am basically in awe of anyone doing this for the third or fourth time. DH keeps saying it's just a few weeks out of your entire life, which is right, except it could be 8 more if I go to 42 wks and that feels like ages right now. Sorry- told you it was a moan!

teainbed · 08/04/2017 19:39

Moan away Esme there's little more shattering than late pregnancy and toddlers!

RasperryInAMelon · 08/04/2017 19:40

@jennymac31 I found some comfy slip ins in Sainsbury's funnily enough, they do a range of shoes called comfort I think it is.

These are the ones I got tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/p/Chunky-Sole-Comfort-Loafers/130921035-Gold

@Teaspoon74 is the constant peeing a sign of engagement? I'm only 34weeks but am peeing like crazy and also finding I still feel her move but it's different and not as frequent or in the usual places...

@PeachIcedT the colours available for maternity clothes are awful aren't they! And the horrendous patterns on offer.

@Tickyboovicki I get what you mean with the confidence issues. I'm feeling worse and worse about myself as time goes on 😔 I started at 8 stone 6 and have put 3stone on already and still have 6 weeks to go...

@EsmesBees I can only begin to imagine how hard it is with a toddler to look after too. Lots of love your way, feet up with a cuppa and biscuits tonight?

yellowismyfavourite · 08/04/2017 19:58

I know what you mean about body confidence... I have put on well over 2 stone and feel massive. Maternity clothes aren't great and I haven't really seen nursing stuff I like yet either. Isn't at all helped by MiL who keeps helpfully reminding me that I shouldn't be eating for two!!!
Esme and all others with toddlers I am in awe. I am shattered after deep cleaning the bathroom and doing some ironing today... don't know how you do it!!!

nursebickypegs · 08/04/2017 20:00

@Sipperskipper every midwife has told me how high risk I am, that I can't gain any weight during the pregnancy, referred to slimming world... then when I've gained 10lb they are like "oh, that's not good". Baby is huge so I think it's literally baby weight! Like I said I'm quite chubby, too chubby in fact. I blame coming off the wards and into community nursing!

@EsmesBees you are doing an INCREDIBLE job. I struggle looking after DH, 2 cats and a rabbit...
Let alone another person. How old is your little one? I really want my baby to have siblings; I have an older half sister who I idolised as a teenager but she lived in London. She's 8 years older than me. The age difference was crap when I was little but as we got older, it was great.

I am shattered today; we have cleaned out the junk from the garage ready for a car boot tomorrow. My back is killing me, and I want a bath but I think I'll get stuck.

FoxMulder · 08/04/2017 20:01

I grew out of my mat jeans ages ago so just left with leggings and some stretchy trousers that are not even maternity! Got quite a few tops but they don't cover my bum so not good for leggings.

Esme it is so hard with a toddler. All the questions make me snappy. So much better when I've got other people around.

nursebickypegs · 08/04/2017 20:03

@yellowismyfavourite my MIL reminded me that "big girls don't show" and I was like, thanks love. I'm comfortably an 18 now, but I am living in purely maternity clothes. The only things that aren't maternity are my cardigans, shirts, bras and pants.

I found maternity clothes really hit and miss, they are either plain or really bizarre. New Look has been my saving grace on basics but their dresses were hideous and so short!

peasandquiet · 08/04/2017 20:35

Esme I'm right there with you today, hband away second weekend running and I'm done in. Today can be summed up by LO getting in the bath himself (for the first time) but fully clothed needless to say he scared up both shitless. TV is on pretty much constantly here so don't beat yourself up about that.
No baby prepping here this weekend - still waiting for husband to assemble the snuzpod. My money is on the baby arriving before he gets round to it.
Anyone know what we can take for sore throats?

EsmesBees · 08/04/2017 20:36

Thanks all! Sitting now in front of Netflix with a fake beer so feeling much more human. It is so much better with other people are here fox. DH was at the rugby today and I completely forgot he was going so didn't make other plans. She's just two nurse and wonderful, but a constant chatterbox and so stubborn. Love her to bits though. Think she's going to be a great big sister. yellow I haven't ironed in months and have left the bathroom to the cleaner. That sounds knackering too!

No idea how much weight Ive gained. But also not at all bothered about it right now. Our bodies are doing an amazing thing. If that comes with a bit of extra padding, then so be it.

EsmesBees · 08/04/2017 20:43

Glad it's not just me peas. Shows a level of coordination and agility though getting in the bath himself! Not sure about sore throats but sorry you are not well.

coxsorangepippin · 08/04/2017 21:33

Day one of our hypnobirthing course today. It's held at the hospital. I thought I was quite good at breathing and relaxing but found it almost impossible in the hospital setting, while talking about birth, and with strangers around Confused ... oh dear!

Has anyone found anything soothing for spd by the way? I've been managing the pelvic girdle pain at the sacroiliac joints pretty ok with physio, but the pain at the pubic symphysis is new and agonising!

teainbed · 08/04/2017 21:48

Rest is good cox, ice packs on the symphysis and keeping knees together when you're doing things like getting in and out of the car. But I think there comes a point where you say 'I'm not doing that anymore' and try and protect yourself from certain activities that make it worse.
