Mid-Late November due dates

I see there's a thread for early November due dates but I can't see that anyone's started one for the later dates yet. Not sure yet if this one will stick around but if it does it'll be our DC3, due around the 18th.

Someone come chat to me?!

Welcome @Bearest17 and snap on the due date!

I wasn't asked to do a urine sample at booking in, do you know what it was for? Also not offered flu jab and had yesterday in bed with stinking cold :-/

Anyone else not have a urine test at booking in?

Mummyosborne1983 · 11/04/2017 08:04

@lydia. They normally ask for a urine sample at every mw appointment to check for uti as they are so common in pregnancy x

Zampa · 11/04/2017 09:00

Nocats I cried down the phone when making my booking in appointment.

I think we just get on with life and raising our child and don't realise what a significant effect our experiences have on us.

tmc14 · 11/04/2017 10:20

Thanks for the link, have added my deets. Got my early scan tomorrow morning, feeling nervous!!

NoCatsHere · 11/04/2017 10:42

Fluffy im a bit of a hippy at heart and would rather not take the flu jab over eating a tonne of tumeric and garlic in my food and try and combat it a more natural way!! Its totally a personal choice though. Do a bit of research if your unsure and then you can make the right choice for you.

zampa thanks glad it wasn't just me. i think I'm pretty 'tough' most of the time but this really got to me. I'm looking forward to sorting it out properly in my mind before getting nearer the birth.

Stuckinstressville · 11/04/2017 10:51

tmc hope scan goes well. The Epu at St.georges are so kind but the waiting room is from hell!

harrietm87 · 11/04/2017 10:55

tmc I've got my scan tomorrow as well - I'll be 7+4 - what about you?

Mine is at Homerton - does anyone have any experience of there? I've read some scary things about it so not sure if it's where I want to give birth.

tmc14 · 11/04/2017 11:19

Thanks Stuck & Harriet - homerton means you're not that far from me! We've actually paid for a private clinic in town as we don't qualify for an early scan. Doing it as we want to tell family at our wedding next week. 12 week scan will be at a clinic in Leyton.
I'll be 8+ 4, although that might be off by a day or two either side.
Good luck for yours too!!

Hazandduck · 11/04/2017 11:45

Good luck to everyone with scans coming up. And good luck for your big day tmc14! How exciting. Xxx

tmc14 · 11/04/2017 12:03

Thanks Haz, it's a very overwhelming time!! All the good things but it feels like my head is going to explode most days 😁

Hazandduck · 11/04/2017 12:14

I'm getting married in August, it's scary and exciting! I'm waiting to tell my dressmaker (and give her a heart attack probably) until I've had a scan, but she definitely has noticed my boobs at fittings have got so much bigger! I'm not really worrying about it yet because it still doesn't feel real.
It must be overwhelming but at the same time what a lovely opportunity to tell all your loved ones about the baby at the same time :) x

emmajanejames80 · 11/04/2017 12:16

hi guys - I have just found out I am pregnant with my first - due 21st nov - I am 36! I dont know anyone else pregnant at the same stage locally right now - and its still a secret from friends etc - so any support welcome!

Hazandduck · 11/04/2017 12:31

Hi emma and congratulations! These early weeks are so hard keeping it secret, this forum is a godsend x

tmc14 · 11/04/2017 12:35

Congratulations to you Haz, you'll need some room in your dress for sure!
Welcome Emma, and congratulations :-) I'm 37 so you can join the not quite old but getting there club ;-) I'm really struggling with the secrets, not that I want to tell everyone but I've become a hermit due to tiredness/not being able to drink and am bored of making excuses!!

butterybollocks · 11/04/2017 12:41

Congratulations to those who've just joined, fingers crossed for all the early scans happening, and November and stuckinstressville hope you're OK.

We're still keeping it secret although my Mil is definitely suspicious and was asking why I look so tired (argh I had make up on too!). I'm basically avoiding everyone as it's hard to hide the fact that I feel crap and my boobs are ginormous! Hopefully they'll all understand when we tell them after the 12 week scan.

Topsyloulou · 11/04/2017 12:57

Thanks for all the good wishes for the scan. Everything is fine, good strong heartbeat. Baby was too curled up to get a proper measurement but measuring at least 8+4, by dates Im somewhere between 8+6 & 9+1 so happy with that. DS was always a pickle with scans, would never lie still or be in the right place, looks like this one will be the same.

I know now why my trousers are so tight, my uterus is huge already, baby has plenty of space to move around. DS was 9lb9 so it's probably preparing itself for another big baby! I might be brave enough to get some of my maternity clothes out of the loft now, don't think my work trousers will fit after this week. On the plus side I had to get weighed & am still the same as pre pregnancy despite eating so much to stem the nausea. Would love to say it's all healthy snacks but not sure Cadbury mini eggs count as healthy!

Hazandduck · 11/04/2017 13:41

Topsy mini eggs are my weakness too! I feel really flabby and gross and my boobs are definitely larger and trousers feel tight, weighed myself yesterday to assess the damage and I've not gained anything either! It's so weird! Especially after FIL commented how much I was eating over the weekend and that I needed to "watch it!" 🙄 Why do people think it's ok to make an uninvited comment on another person's body?? I get so self conscious and way I'm really trying to not stress about this, I don't care if I turn in to a blubber whale as long as I get a healthy baby at the end of this! X

harrietm87 · 11/04/2017 13:51

I've been too scared to weigh myself as I know I've put on so much - lots of my work clothes don't fit anymore! I've been exercising every day and trying to eat healthily - just don't understand it! I'd like to keep it from work as long as possible - ideally 16 weeks or more - but don't think that's going to work out for me!

AGnu · 11/04/2017 15:05

I've gained about 3lbs but feel like I've gained at least a stone. My jeans are really tight & I'm going to need to get a new bra soon before I burst out of this one Hulk-style! I swear I must be losing weight off some part of me, I just can't figure out where!

I'm basically living on bourbons for most of the day now. I tried to be vaguely sensible & cook myself a potato waffle earlier thinking that it would be better than a bourbon but while it was cooking I got a whiff of something that smelled a bit like hot washing up liquid & nearly threw up on my DC! Even after I'd nibbled the waffle I had a nasty taste in my mouth/acid feeling in my throat. It's gone now but I'm feeling sick-hungry again & have no energy to make anything. Wish Subway did deliveries!

AGnu, I completely sympathise.
I've stopped wearing bras and am wearing padded bralets as my boobs have just ballooned.

I've been existing on cloudy lemonade, buttered baguettes, hobnobs, ginger biscuits, and hobnob chocolate ginger cereal bars.

Tried to eat some cod, spinach and sweet potato yesterday. Ended up eating pasta and butter instead.

Hazandduck · 11/04/2017 19:29

So glad I'm not the only one! I've come home from work curled up with my cat, a cuppa and a pack of custard creams haha. Biscuits are the way forward :)

Hazandduck · 11/04/2017 19:29

Ps I just cannot be arsed to cook. Feel sorry for my OH, he's not even home from work yet and will have to come in and cook for us...

NiceCuppaTeaAndASitDown · 11/04/2017 19:37

We're renovating at the moment which means we have no kitchen and everything is cooked in a microwave in the living room.

The lingering smell and the lack of texture are really getting to me Sad going to ask DH if we can go out for a meal tomorrow

Hopeful25 · 11/04/2017 19:57

Oh my lord I would love buttered baguette right now!!! Currently munching rich tea biscuits
