Scan today :)
Was vomiting so much with the pain of my headache. Took 20ml of calpol this morning which has eased it a bit. Don't think I could keep tablets down. I was prescribed dihydrocodeine last time but not until 17 wks. One more week until I'm out of the 1st trimester and think I'll have to get some stronger painkillers then as I literally can't do anything. My house is a mess and I couldn't even help my dd make her Easter bonnet as I was in so much pain.

sophie that sounds horrendous, you poor thing. Hope your scan goes well today!

lott I have proudly worn my maternity jeans yesterday and a maternity dress today to work. So much comfier! The jeans are a little big but the dress feels perfect as there's a belt under bust so looks fitted.

Anyone else got scans tomo? I am soooo nervous i dont feel pregnant i havnt had any symptoms other than sore nipples n head aches n now i dont even have that im 12 +2 i had a scan at 8 and 9+3 as first scan found i had mmc twin 2 but twin 1 had a heart beat and some bleeding, didnt tell me anything about the heart rate just said twin 1 had one i was fine yesterday about the thought of the scan but today i am so scared i wanna cry

potatoes I'm 14 weeks today, and after a fairly decent day nausea wise yesterday, I've already thrown up my breakfast and lunch today. I do feel slightly better in myself though - possibly due to the iron I've been taking (and the fact I was asleep by 8.30 last night).

Hi folks, sorry to hear about this who have been suffering with sickness, nausea and headaches. I've had a few headaches this week - a terrible one yesterday which meant I had to get into bed at 5pm but couldn't nap due to the pain. Ended up taking paracetamol which numbed it a little, my DH cooked dinner whilst I sat and felt sick, I ate very slowly and then it was back to bed for me!

Corrinax, I also have my scan tomorrow. (I'll be 12+2.) I'm sorry you're feeling so anxious - what a difficult wait this must have been for you. You mention that you had a second scan too, how did that one go? I'm also nervous, but have everything crossed and hope that I can sleep tonight! Hope all goes well for you tomorrow, and for anyone else who has scans xx

Hey I am joining you star and corri in tomorrow's scan club! Fingers crossed its good news for all. I feel ok about it but have a tilted uterus which usually makes it hard to find and I get blamed for not drinking enough water! Praying for nice ultrasound techs.

Also had my first migraine in ages yesterday, had friends staying but I just had to crawl away to bed feeling very anti social and hide in the dark wishing I could remember where I'd put the cooking patches!! Lasted all night.

Hi @polly i have a tilted uterus too and each time i go for a scan i drink loads but need to wee just b4 the scan coz im busting n cnt hold it no longer and they dont even mind lol they can just do an internal if they cant see very well!

@startfish good luck for all our scans tomo eeek i dont think il sleep either and i hav work in the morning!

Basically the 1st scan was at 8 weeks which was private and coz i had the mmc with twin 2 and blood around the sacs i spoke to epu who gave me a scan the following week and just confirmed the same.... twin 1 had grown nicely inbetween scans and had a heart beat but they never mentioned anything about how many bpm or string hb even when i asked they dont give it so i dont know why 😣

I'm debating trying to change my scan date; I'll only be 10+5... my midwife did warn me that although I've got 'long cycles' written all over my notes they may be disregarded 🙄

Would you keep the date? Or call & ask for advice? I don't want to get there & be turned away

I am in the same position but my midwife said not to worry, they might just need to redo the nuchal reading at a later date so I would get an extra scan.

I have also told them my cycles are long and I'll only be 10+6 by my ovulation dates. They didn't seem bothered....

Ah, Corrinax, I see. What a shame they didn't tell you more at that scan - I can only imagine how anxious that must make you feel, and I'm sorry to hear about Twin 2. Hope you (and all others with scans tomorrow) get some rest, and that you see a lovely, healthy bean xx

On holiday, but it's fecking freezing, need some sun. Got my first scan next tues when I get back when I will be technically 13 weeks, bricking it as like a few of you, I don't feel pregnant at all, except being tired, looking a bit like I have eaten too many pies and having sore boobs. Other than that I feel perfectly normal. Just worried that I will turn up and they will tell me there is nothing there and that I have imagined the whole thing reoccurring nightmare.

Ah well, have bravely donned my bikini (horrible horrible thought) so will see if I get any comments about my rather podgy middle...

Good luck for scans today! Have mine tomorrow, will be 13+3 already (I would say time flies but it feels like I've been waiting forever).

Toying whether to tell DS now or wait till the 20 week scan. He's going through some separation anxiety at the moment and doesn't want to be left with his nanny, and he unsettled because it's the school holidays so I don't want to add more to his plate. But on the other hand he's going to need to get used to the idea and things like this take a while for him to get used to (for background he turned 4 yesterday and is being assessed for ASD/Aspergers). What to do...?!

Ooh boxes enjoy your holiday, I'm very jealous! Where are you? We were supposed to be going Spain in June but I'd be 27 weeks which is exactly when I had my ds, so we've changed it to Tenerife next April, when I'll hopefully have a 6 month old in tow!

brio we've told our ds who turned 4 in February. Not being tested for ASD but does have issues with change, and has categorically stated in the past he does not want to be a big brother. We did it very casually, showed him the scan photo and told him it was a baby that was in mummy's belly and we were hoping that it would grow and come home with us towards the end of the year. We didn't really make a big deal of it and changed the subject afterwards. He's a thinker, and has come to us with a few questions since but seems to be accepting it. He's stroked my belly absent mindedly a couple of times and announced to my mum, "we're having a baby!". He wants to call it Grace - which is the name of his baby cousin who's only 5 weeks old so we've had to talk him out of that but have said we'll chat about names when we find out whether it's a boy or girl.

My friends and I all got together to celebrate my being pregnant yesterday (I'm the first of everyone) which was lovely and another friend made me this amazing cake. However, one girl friend kept offering me some pimms so after declining I said 'it's alcoholic don't forget!' And she said 'well you can drink a bit can't you'. Obviously I know it's safe to drink a small amount, I'm not a big drinker anyway and haven't missed it, but wouldn't judge anyone who had a glass. But she wouldn't let it lie! Lots of 'oh go on, just one, have a sip!' It was really annoying!!

Anyway here's what you all want to see: THE CAKE!

Just an update to say that I had my scan this morning, which showed a wriggly bean and put me at 13+5. 😊 I'm mostly using the Facebook group now, so it'd be lovely if there are any other peeps who want to join... Hope that others who having scans today have positive results x

Everything is ok i am so relieved!! Due 11th oct so brought me forward a few days, good luck for everyone else scans today
