Hi all

Sorry for the long silence (I've not posted since I joined about 8 weeks ago!). I've been checking in occasionally but have been so stymied by nausea and exhaustion I've preferred not to think about it / talk about it whenever possible! For a while it was so bad I couldn't look at my phone screen without getting dizzy!

It's been great to see so many good news stories, but also so sad to see so many losses too.

I am just about to hit 13 weeks, and had a great scan last week. Even though I've been plagued with a multitude of symptoms, the relief was immense. It really is amazing to see the baby wriggling away on the screen!

I have a 2yr DC and have spent the last 8 weeks mostly dodging friends as I have been sick several times a day, had constant nausea and crippling exhaustion (not to mention a bump by 8 weeks!) and could barely find the strength to wash and dress let alone socialise. It's been hugely lonely and I've felt like a terrible mum. On my second type of anti-sickness meds now (cyclizine just wasn't helping) and although I'm still sick or retching most days definitely feel the fug lifting! Somehow though, despite being sick every day, sometimes up to five times, I've still managed to gain 10lbs.

I hope those of you suffering get some relief soon, bring on trimester two!

Oh, and my EDD has been brought forward to 26 Sept - not sure whether I really ought to be in the Sept club now?!

I had my scan today and I'm actually 13 weeks exactly so due 25th September which is ahead of what I thought!

My EDD's been brought forward too - all the way from 1st Oct to 22nd Sept! I don't really understand/believe it, though, because we didn't DTD early enough for that to be possible. (TMI but I'm pretty certain we conceived on New Year's Day). I'm still mentally planning for 1st October so I think I'll stick with this thread rather than jumping to the September one. I hope I don't end up having to be induced because of dodgy dating.

Jeneral so sorry to hear you have been really struggling but happy to see there might be light at the end of the tunnel!

donkey from what I understand (and I'm new to this) your EDD isn't 40 weeks from when you "do the deed" they're 40 weeks from last missed period or about 14 days before conception - so your new dates should be about right! I was baffled when the doctor said I was 6 weeks when I thought about 3, had no idea you're not actually pregnant for the full 40 weeks!

See, I knew that, but I'd still got it in my head it would be October - I used an online calculator and that's what it told me. It's such an imprecise science anyway, it'll come when it's ready!

So exciting to see scans on here! It's making Friday even more of a long wait for me! Can't believe how quickly it's come around. The first few weeks of knowing crawled by and I felt like 12 weeks was sooo long away!

I'm the same, Gimble, but my first scan is two weeks today. Counting down the hours... 😊 x

My scan is a week tomorrow, it cannot come soon enough, although I had a scan at 8weeks and saw FH I am still extremely anxious, at my 8week scan they put my dates ahead of what I thought. Due to previous MC i as non stop worrying that I won't see a FH. Also I seem to be carrying all front and have a large bump already 11+1 today. I worked so hard over the winter to get my flat tummy back of this baby to push it all out again lol

So exciting to see people's scan pictures! Feeling more and more real by the day! Mines not for 4 weeks feeling impatient now!

I'm so bloated that I feel like I look months gone don't know what I can do does anyone have any remedies?

Don't worry star and polly it'll come round quicker than you think. Also- going away on holiday for a week helps too

Had my scan this morning, it went well! I cried as soon as I saw the heart flickering, just couldn't believe that a baby was inside me, and to see it jumping and moving around was just incredible. Good luck with your scan @ememem84!

Amazing to hear (and see!) the 12 week scans. What a milestone.

I have got booking appointment on Friday when according to my LMP I'll be 11+1 and won't get scan until that appointment so bit concerned it's going to be very late (although I think I'm a week behind due to late ovulation) hope it's still ok for nuchal scanning.

Feeling like the sickness might be easing a bit... don't want to jinx it though! Brothers wedding was great I danced all night and ate all the food and did a great job at pretending to be drinking so much so I'm concerned my relatives are going to think I'm a bad mother when they find out I was actually preggars!

I have got fat around the middle there is definitely a bump but also a layer of fat that didn't use to be there! Finding it difficult to hide it so wearing baggy clothes (am usually size 8).

Good luck for those with scans coming up and hope those with sickness it starts to ease too!

First hospital appointment tomorrow, does anyone know what to expect? Do I need to take anything? Will I need to make any decisions about anything?

Ah lott I'm so glad you had a special scan experience :) did you expect to react like that? I have no idea what it'll be like when I actually see the little bean!

88 is it your booking in scan? If so be prepared to do a urine sample, have your blood taken and answer a looooad of questions. That was pretty much it for me. Took a while though and they will ask questions about the baby's fathers medical history and his family's (history of diabetes, diseases etc).

lovechild I have also done so much 'drinking' too and no ones noticed yet!

That's very helpful. I assume it's the booking in appointment. I'm a bit upset my OH couldn't get time off for the appointment, his work are terrible. Luckily he can make the scan in two weeks!

88 it's not really necessary for your dp to be at the appointment but totally understand if you wanted him there.

It was just a bunch of questions about your health, his health family medical history etc.

Hi everyone, just checking in, absolutely LOVE the cute scan pictures! I am not having another until 13 + 1, I can't wait until the second tri when I have an obvious excuse for being exhausted and alternately sick/ravenous.
