Hi everyone, I've been reading your thread for a few days now, I'm due 1st of June but the June board is soo quiet! I think you guys go through about three threads per page on there! I have PP, so unless it moves I will be induced early and will be an official May baby. Love reading what you are all up to although you are making me feel very very unorganised! We have a few clothes and a few blankets 😮 I know which pram I want but it's limited edition and therefore never on the offers, it's a silver cross wayfarer Chelsea. The other wayfarers always have offers on but mine doesn't so I don't want to buy it as it doesn't seem fair! Does anyone know if Mothercare will be doing a discount at the baby show? I'm an hour and a half from Manchester so could possible travel up to the show next weekend if you guys recommend it?

This is my third pregnancy which is probably why I'm a bit more relaxed! But my children are DD 6 and DS 9 and we have nothing saved from them! This will be another DD :)

Adventuregame · 04/03/2017 18:21

Welcome walker I think Rasperry got that pram but not sure if she found an offer.

ClaireSunflower · 04/03/2017 18:52

Just got a text from the midwife to say my gtt came back normal so that's one less thing to worry about! Hope everyone's having a nice weekend. I went to my pregnancy yoga class this morning so feeling nice and chilled out. We did the second coat of paint on the baby's room this afternoon. Glad to have that done so we can finally start putting in the furniture we've bought. Got it all piled up in the guest room at the moment!

FoxMulder · 04/03/2017 18:52

Wondering if a sleepyhead would be good this time. I was happy to hold DS while he slept but now I have a toddler who needs playing with. Are they ok to buy second hand?

Hi walker. What's PP? Placenta Previa?

beanturnipandspud · 04/03/2017 19:12

Hi walker, third baby here too and we are very laid back with this one so you are not alone. We have 4 baby grows, a pram on order and 1 MAM bottle.

teaspoon we are going to next Saturday baby show in Manchester. Hoping to get most things that we don't have so far.

Been to see my nana today, who is going to be in our house whilst we have spud and she has informed me that she is flying to her villa on 5th June! So I need to come on time 😳 no pressure!

Walkerbean16 · 04/03/2017 19:13

Hi fox sorry yes it's placenta previa, I meant C section not induced! Although fingers crossed I'll be fine as I need as much time as possible! We need to squeeze a house move in somewhere before having baby and we having found anything yet!

Walkerbean16 · 04/03/2017 19:16

Oh and DH is taking the children to Cyprus in the Easter hols! Confused time has just disappeared! We are considering the sleepyhead too, my first two ~are~ were rubbish sleepers!

FoxMulder · 04/03/2017 19:20

I've got that too walker. Are 'they' optimistic it will move? Was yours actually covering the os or just close? Anterior or posterior? When are you having another scan?

FoxMulder · 04/03/2017 19:25

Sorry for the grilling! It's just interesting because I'm in the same boat.

Autumnsweater · 04/03/2017 19:27

Thanks rustler I think I have messaged the right person Grin.

Badgerbird · 04/03/2017 19:31

On our way home from working/catering a super busy event, lots of fun Smile On the go since 6am (after a crappy nights sleep obvs), sooooo looking forward to lie in tomoz!!

Oh god shini and teaspoon! You still spewing that much?! Sad

Yay on the house move shini!! You must be shattered.

Congrats and hello walker Smile

Teaspoon74 · 04/03/2017 19:48

Welcome Walker!
Not sure about Babyshow discounts (may find out tomoz if we make it) but if your Mothercare do a parents eve then they do 10% off everything in store.
Was in the Warrington store last weekend and if you find a specially nice store assistant they may allow you to still get the discount even if you missed the parents eve....

vanilla8 · 04/03/2017 19:52

Hi all, haven't fully caught up on thread but here's my baby show update:

No 2017 uppababy on display, apparently they are expecting stock end of April but no guarantees. We got the 2015 version for £679 plus we got the maxicosi pebble and 2 way fix base total was £989. We priced the maxicosi stuff before returning to uppababy stand to purchase!
The 2017 version has different wheels and you can upgrade your 2015 version later if you want to.

We managed to pick up 3 free mam bottles and some avent dummies for free. Also a car sun visor. Come prepared with fake email/address details as lots of stands want your information before giving the free stuff.

Lidl have a stand and their instore baby event starts 16th March, they have a free goody bag with a voucher for £5 off £25 during March Smile

10% off mothercare, so if you never got to an expectant parent event then you could get he discount here.

£5 for a made for mums gift bag with items supposedly worth £40

We bought some cute bibs from a few independent and smaller shops

Have attached some snaps of other shop discounts so if you are going tomorrow or to Manchester you have an idea of if the prices are better than online

Talking of sleepyheads I think we are going to get one of these....purflo.com/breathable_nest

Seems very similar but half the price...

Didn't realise it is capped at 6 pics a day!

Knuma had discounts on their Huddle and high chair too, but a lead time as they have just changed manufacturer.

Also if anyone is driving and doesn't want to pay excel parking, and doesn't mind a short walk- we parked in Ethel Road and crossed the DLR bridge to the entrance

Teaspoon74 · 04/03/2017 20:02

Claire phew on the GTT and well done on the painting! We're getting a new window in the baby room so can't set up the furniture until late March now. So frustrating as it is sitting in the house screaming at me to be unpacked!!

Bean no pressure then!!!!

Shini congrats on the move and kudos for getting it sorted before the big day!! Where did you go from/to?

Vanilla thanks v much for those snaps and tips on bargains you found ;). Lots of research to do this eve.

Badger yup! Envy. Sorry if have gone on - trying to get on getting on, but sometimes I just need to go "aaagh!".

Rustler I've sent you a msg on FB Smile

Badgerbird · 04/03/2017 20:11

I don't think you've been going on teaspoon!!! It'd do my head in!!

WishIWasSleeping · 04/03/2017 20:11

Ohh badger- that's peaked my interest... DD hated the Moses basket we had purchased... so I spent half of most nights sat up with her on me. (hubby worked away)
But she was a sweaty little baby, so I don't fancy doing that through the summer this time! Smile

peasandquiet · 04/03/2017 20:53

Vanilla your a hero my very own baby show personal shopper!

ShiniBerry · 04/03/2017 20:59

Rustler have dm'ed you. Thanks for the heads up about line closures-have just checked our route on TFL!

Thanks for the pics and info Vanilla super useful stuff. Sounds like a good deal on the UppaBaby (vista?). Think we will check out the Maxi Cosi and Medela offers as well. Also good tip about the fake email addresses - I already get way too much baby offer spam!

Thanks Teaspoon and Badger! Yes still spewing but i'm learning what to just avoid completely, for example muesli out the nose is the absolute worst! (sorry for the TMI!) We only moved about 1 mile down the road (so still North London Enfield area) but it was exhausting and am completely shattered, have had about 3 naps today!

Anyone who is going to the show tomorrow, maybe we can bump into each other and compare bargains (ugh sorry bad pun!!!).

PeachIcedT · 04/03/2017 21:02

Welcome walker! Thanks for the tip on the lidl baby event vanilla, I've been wondering when that might start as I have a lidl much closer to me than an Aldi. Hope they stock some good stuff. Enjoy the baby show all who are going.

So I did a big last minute decision and booked NCT course tonight - starting in a week! At least I'm helping to fill up their course and hope it is worth the Shockcost.

Also (I know it's early) I had my first cup of raspberry leaf tea, it was great, I thought it would be a chore to drink but it was good. At least now if it does nothing it is at least tasty.

vanilla8 · 04/03/2017 21:03

Oh forgot to say I picked up the grobag £99 baby show offer too:

Two grow snugs (newborn cozy)
Two gro bags ( we chose one travel one and one normal both 2.5 tog)
One grow thermometer and one grow hush

They had two gro bags for £40 offer too

Walkerbean16 · 04/03/2017 21:24

fox it is anterior and slightly covering, they did tell me by how much but I forget! They said most move so hopefully it will be okay, I have a scan at 36 weeks, they mentioned having one at 32 but I didn't hear anything back about that! Fingers crossed yours moves too!

Thanks for the info on the baby show, very helpful! Now to convince DH we need to go!

beanturnipandspud · 04/03/2017 22:01
