My phone hates me!!

I've seen same midwife every appointment however student did all the talking (diff one each time) she only waded in if student didn't know answer (which was a lot in my case.
I'm calling myself unique rather than complex lol x

lullaby23 · 03/03/2017 00:59

My Dr does fundal measurement and a scan at each appointment so assume there is some merit in it?

Agree with the consensus that EBF non mobile baby is pretty easy to travel with. We did short haul at 8 weeks and long haul at 3 months. Luckily the next long haul we will do with both children is one way Smile

I've never had to taste liquids brought for DS btw, at Heathrow they have a special scanner and put the cup in there for a few seconds.

rustler I can add you to fb if you're having trouble drop me a pm.

Insomnia songs:#NoSleepTilBaby

Maxing about 3h sleep a night.
Any tips?

Brightsmoke · 03/03/2017 06:36

Teaspoon, I totally feel your pain! Have you got a maternity pillow? Mine helps massively. I listen to music or YouTube in the night to try help me drop off.

I had a chuckle at centipede too Sah 😂 Kinda think my autocorrect would do 🙊

31 week app on Tuesday where I'll be 31+6. Off for a weekend in sunny pissing it down 🙄 Devon with DH and the dog today, can't wait to get away from life for a bit!

Barnes79 · 03/03/2017 06:37

Saw my bump move for the first time yesterday as a result of baby kicking Smile I struggled to get to sleep as I felt nauseous cos he was kicking and jiggling so much! Then I had a dream he'd died and they couldn't find a heart beat (thankfully he's already kicking me and I'm not even out of bed yet).

Rustler74 · 03/03/2017 06:50

Thanks to Sah I may have found a new nickname for our baby... with all that kicking I'm sure centipede is rather appropriate!
Sorry to hear about the insomnia. I'm not exactly sleeping very well or as long as I used to. Got up to go to toilet and blow my ever so stuffy nose and failed to go back to sleep after that. Vivid dreams are certainly a part of it all, but I'm thinking that our bed is a tad too hard for me, although I didn't have these same back problems so much before I was pregnant. I am very much looking forward to my massage today, and might tie in a swim after that, mostly to prepare me for the busy weekend.

Rustler I did send you an invite to the group. I'll try it again, might be worth checking if it's gone in your junk mail?

RasperryInAMelon · 03/03/2017 09:09

Roll on the next three weeks at work... I don't know how much longer I can carry on with the awful commuting and shoddy South Eastern services. Left the house at 7.30 and still not in the office 😩

Rustler74 · 03/03/2017 09:11

I just checked message requests and can't see anything. What is the exact name of the group ?

OP posts:
savagehk · 03/03/2017 09:15

Rustler74 · 03/03/2017 09:36

Replied, no fb messages or requests received so far. Can't find the group

I have seen the same midwife twice.
I go to a community midwife centre (very call the midwife style!) And she did tell me at my 16 week appt they would always try and book me with her.
I have an appointment tomorrow but at a temp clinic they have set up at the hospital because they are SO busy at my normal one. I guess I will see someone else.
I am 29+2 and this is meant to be my 28 week appt.
Interested to see what I am measuring as I don't feel like I have grown loads since my last measurement on Feb 7. I measured 25 CM at 25+6.

CinnamonTwist · 03/03/2017 10:02

Rustler it doesn't come up on your Facebook it will go to your email account, in case you're checking Facebook only? I sent a 'reminder' this morning so should be a new email in there hopefully?

Adventuregame · 03/03/2017 10:04

My last day at work today - feels very strange but at the same time not real. Just feels like I've got a normal week off !

Adventuregame · 03/03/2017 10:10

Question : Fetal hiccups. Had them yesterday and now again today. As long as they don't last longer than 10 mins no need to worry ? Is that correct ?

1004Rise · 03/03/2017 10:24

Adventure how do you know they're hiccups?

Was so glad to be home yesterday sleeping in my own bed, definitely my last work trip completely knackered!

Caterpillar sounds appropriate, I'm sometimes convinced this baby has more than just 2 arms and legs Hmm

I've seen the same midwife until my 28 week appointment when it changed to the morning so it was easier to fast. They try to keep it to the same one because I think there's only one doing clinic duty at a time.

Rasperry can't believe they've not got their act together yet Angry

Adventuregame · 03/03/2017 10:29

Rise I'm presuming as it's regular and on like a rhythm rather than like random kicks. Doesn't seem to last too long and I really have to be still and concentrate to feel it. I think it's quite common.

MissMooMoo · 03/03/2017 10:57

adventure I think I have had them once. They feel like little twitches every few seconds. They lasted about 10 minutes for me.

PeachIcedT · 03/03/2017 11:17

Wow Adventure have a great last day! I have felt hiccups but haven't timed them, I didn't think they were anything unusual.

peasandquiet · 03/03/2017 12:49

I forgot about the hiccups. My 1st one hiccuped loads from about 24 wks, haven't had that yet this time!

Teaspoon74 · 03/03/2017 13:06

Gosh - really behind!! So much chatter!!!

100 - props for doing trips for so long. Don't think I could've managed it! Eat I can do to waddle to the bus/dlr/tube!

Adventure - hope today goes well and isn't too emosh. Can't get my head around a nine month gap ;)

MissMoo- we may have virtually the same EDD - I'm 29+4 today. Due 16/5 unless they induce on 2/5.

Rustler - loving caterpillar! My cervix is taking a battering too so maybe that's why (I put it down to River Dance and my Irish Heritage!). And where's the latest foxy haul from please??

Bright - I do have a pillow, but it's been commandeered by the cats!! Enjoy your break. Do nothing! Smile

Wish (et al) any sling recommendations? Sounds like it's good to have one for travelling.

Tea - remote Scottish beach sounds lush! In fact, have a sneaking suspicion that Bic was conceived in Aberdeen, within sight of the sea ;). And are you doing anything to try and get bubs to turn? Am also breach and although GP pls tell me there's lots of time for her to turn, I don't know if there's owt can be done to help that happen?

Northern - wowzers! Sounds like a great break. Will you have the BILs family as support if needed?

Barnes - nicely handled re in laws! OH is v close to his folks and is reluctant to tell them they can't stay in first couple of weeks. I'm adamant I don't want anyone here others than the three of us whilst we try and bond and sort out BF etc. Can't cope with passive aggressive comments about cleaning and what she did with her kids whilst getting to know my little girl!

Bean - well done you for saying no to tix to the birth! And hugs re mum. Families are tough at the best of times, let alone with all these hormones in play!!

One wedding invite here. Late June, so 5-7 wks from EDD. No babies so trying to figure out whether the logistics of the hotel mean we can do tag team childcare. It's in the Lakes and we live in London so if we can't stay in the wedding hotel I don't think we can go and have been procrastinating about booking for nearly 3 months now. All seems a bit far away (even though it's coming fast!).

Dream - am bit concerned about the glam/con centric too. Will miss the hen night so won't know many there.... but not about me, so hope we can make it to see pal's big day. & so sweet that OH was I years at the birth vids! Can't. Ring myself to watch One Born or owt like it - trying not to think about what happens at the business end T the moment Confused

Rasperry - feel for you re the undermining colleague thing. But people often get caught out. Particularly if it gets noticed as a pattern , which it will if she does it over time whilst you're away. Flowers

Sanity & Claire - at the risk of sounding a bit needy, I'm also hoping that the NCT classes intro me to some nice local mums who have their heads screwed on and aren't too preachy/ cliquey. Am also (Claire) in SE London. NCT classes are Shooters Hill. Yours?

I forgot about the hiccups too! I remember getting them lots at the end last time, and she's still really hiccuppy now.

Can't believe you are finishing work adventure. Ive still got 2.5 months to go! What are you going to do for the next two months?

Teaspoon74 · 03/03/2017 13:07

Sorry - mammoth last post Blush

FoxMulder · 03/03/2017 13:09

Wow last day Adventure! That's exciting.

Lots of fundal measurements seem to be going on. I had my first at 28 weeks and I don't see the midwife again until 34 weeks.

I've thought of a couple of more unusual baby product recommendations! The Lumie bodyclock light for night feeds. You can dim it down to nothing so you can have just enough light to see what you're doing. The other think I found really useful was my Geraldine Giraffe draught excluder! Perfect for propping myself on my side for lying down feeding! I don't suppose it really has to be a giraffe...Grin

savagehk · 03/03/2017 13:15

teaspoon - for newborn to about 4 months a stretchy wrap is fabulous. Past that the solarweave connecta is very lightweight, packs small, and can be used well in hot climates too - and is UV protective, and dries out quickly.

Personally the connecta doesn't fit me fantastically, so I have a more padded/structured carrier as well, but it's not nearly as portable so for anywhere where portability is key the solarweave is perfect.

The other things that do work from newborn (but often require an insert) include the Ergo, make sure you get a genuine one. John Lewis sells these if you want to try on the high street, otherwise a sling meet is a very good idea.
