I wouldn't worry about the dates on the pee sticks, I've heard they aren't very reliable! As for people not having lots of symptoms, my sister had none with her two boys and all was well... sadly I'm not like her and seem to have her share of sickness too... just remember everyone is unique so you can't compare your pregnancy to anyone else's!

On another note an extra delightful 'symptom' has appeared- Petechiae. They are broken blood vessels on the face from all the vomiting and gagging! Yaaaay. It basically looks like I have a rash next to each eye... thought I'd share incase anyone else gets something similar so they know it's nothing to worry about. I have my booking in appointment tomorrow when I think I'm 9 weeks and also have my scan booked for the 31st when I'm around 13 weeks! So some good news I suppose... 🤢

10storeylovesong · 03/03/2017 19:57

Argh, I'm lay on the couch trying not to throw up, having just called in sick for work tomorrow as I spent more time today on the toilet floor than at my desk and my dh has actually just said to me, "you wanted this as much as me you know, you can't keep feeling sorry for yourself like this".

88claire · 03/03/2017 20:00

10storey

Im on the sofa with a bucket on the floor. Feel absolutely awful! Im not even 6 weeks (I am tomorrow) and really hoping this won't continue for the whole 8 months!

Also the exhaustion is wiping me out... I can't help but feel sorry for myself!

mummabubs · 03/03/2017 20:03

Haha 10storey my husband made a similar comment last week along the lines of "remember you wanted this so you can't moan now"... suffice to say he hasn't said it since and funnily enough when I started vomiting the next day his empathy levels rose sharply! They are funny critters men 😂

Emberblu · 03/03/2017 20:08

Oooo 10storey I would kill DH if he said I was feeling sorry for myself! It can be debilitating and depressing and if we need to lay on the sofa all day we shouldn't feel guilty cos you are literally growing another human! I have a bowl I carry with me everywhere around the house at the moment Grin. Just do whatever you need to do and ignore any silly comments Smile

yellowfrontdoor · 03/03/2017 20:13

My DH described my symptoms as 'self-inflicted' Hmm
I promise he's not usually an arse! Grin

emvy · 03/03/2017 20:13

A helpful comment from your OH 10storey! Bet you're feeling much better now! Shock

Today has been an odd day for me. Well, the whole week has but today in particular. I can't help but "listen to my body" and it's doing all the usual pregnancy things and that makes me think that everything must be ok. However, I don't want to let myself think that as I know I should be preparing myself for the worst. The worst is the more likely scenario. I feel like my body is either tricking me or everything is ok. Those who know, and whom I've spoken to, have just said that regardless of the outcome at least I know my body can do the right thing. Which I completely appreciate and of course am over the moon about but it makes no difference to how I want this pregnancy to pan out. Gah! I'm so sorry for a downer post. It's getting closer to the "big day" and it's on my mind more. Sorry you guys get my rants! Everyone else is so much "what will be, will be" and sometimes I just need to feel sorry for myself!

emvy · 03/03/2017 20:14

Oh and continuing the other conversation of thoughtful OH's. Mine thinks I'm playing on the symptoms too. At least we can all feel reassured that they (mostly) all don't have a clue and it's not just our particular OH being insensitive!

Rachieg88 · 03/03/2017 20:16

emvy I think that is completely understandable and I have everything crossed that the impending scan goes well. Smile

10storeylovesong · 03/03/2017 20:32

I may have told him to piss off as I didn't have the energy to deal with him, then ran to the loo to bring up my tea. He's now in bed sulking while I'm "feeling sorry for myself" on the sofa.

Anotherminime · 03/03/2017 20:58

God, there are several DH's that are lucky to be alive it seems!! I'd be having a massive sense of humour failure about any comment that it's self inflicted or similar!! I think they need to stop sulking and start appreciating the fabulous job you are all doing in GROWING A HUMAN BEING!!

emvy · 03/03/2017 21:06

Well said anotherminime Smile

emvy · 03/03/2017 21:06

And thank you rachie!

Luna4689 · 03/03/2017 21:55

Haha my partner is exactly the same! I do make him wait on me hand and foot, he thinks I'm 'making it up'.. well he thought I was until I was sick all over him in bedConfused now he does everything to make sure I'm feeling okay!

emvy · 03/03/2017 21:59

Ahaha brilliant luna! Karma?!

SophieGiroux · 03/03/2017 22:57

Anyone know if at this stage it's safe to go on rides at a theme park? Got a trip to Legoland planned in a couple of weeks when I'll be 9 weeks. The baby will still be low down protected by the pubic bone so should be ok shouldn't it?
My dd will be very confused if I suddenly don't go on rides when I'm usually all for them!

thisismadness77 · 03/03/2017 22:59

I'd probably stick to the teacup rides :)

missm0use · 03/03/2017 23:13

Sorry ladies had a few days of lying on the sofa watching shitty TV and cuddling up with DD1, so haven't dipped in and out as much!

7 weeks + 1 today and feeing sorry for myself - Nausea coming in waves on and off all day. And as of last night I have now gone off Chinese food! It's a god damm tragedy as it's the ONLY takeaway on the island Sad And suffering from an achey back tonight. But suspect that was from dragging an ikea bag of washing and DD round the kitchen floor! Her laughter made it seem like a good idea at the timeConfused

Luna4689 · 03/03/2017 23:42

Sophie I'd try and avoid rides. I know I wasn't allowed on the rides at the London dungeons as they were drop rides! Always check the signs though, they usually say whether they're suitable for pregnant women, just be careful! Smile

PlzBeSticky23 · 04/03/2017 01:23

Bit random but I've just taken my makeup off after having worn it all day and I have a very red rash all underneath my chin and around the jawline...I've never had anything like this before? Should I be worried and go to see a doctor or just wait to see if it will go away on its own?
Usually I wouldn't worry about something like this at all Blush

Presh88 · 04/03/2017 06:15

Hi all
Haven't checked in for a few weeks but sorry to everyone who's feeling so ill. I still haven't got any major symptoms apart from tiredness and then waking up around 3am Confused
Had trapped wind the other day in work and totally freaked out - honestly was so painful I thought something was going really wrong! Got in the car, 'relieved some pressure' and felt a million times better Grin
Just counting down the days until 12 week scan on 20th March now...

Has anyone been watching The Replacement - just catching up on the first episode and it's slightly terrifying!

thepotatoesofdefiance · 04/03/2017 06:47

Rides should be fine Sophie, I wouldn't be worried going on them at this stage (except due to nausea!) although might think twice if they specifically say not suitable for pregnant women.

DH is away for the weekend so I've got the kids on my own, he left this morning at 5.30 waking ds2 in the process, it's going to be a long day! I've had 3 public transport vom incidents this week, luckily I go prepared, but really looking forward to this bit being over Envy

Anyone have nice weekend plans?

boxesoffrogs · 04/03/2017 08:12

Ok, I am been an idiot/neurotic/anxious idiot, and just idly decided to do the last test I have in the house, ya know, just to confirm that I am not dreaming, but the test line has come up way fainter than it did last weekend...

It wasn't my first wee of the day, and there wasn't much (tmi), but the top test is the one from last weekend (that has faded a bit) and the bottom is this morning... is this normal? Or does it show hgc levels are dropping? Arghhh, sorry I know I deserve a mental slap for being so paranoid...

October Babies #2 - midwife appointments and "scanxiety"
emvy · 04/03/2017 08:26

I don't actually know the ins and outs of doing these tests as a pregnancy progresses but I'm sure the faintness doesn't mean anything and I've definitely read you shouldn't place too much emphasis on it as weeks progress. I don't know exactly, I just don't want you to be worried for no reason! It's anxiety inducing enough let alone adding more pressure on yourself. Step away from the tests!!

boxesoffrogs · 04/03/2017 08:32

I know I know! I am a fool. Promised myself that if I got pregnant I wouldn't turn into this anxious idiot! No more tests in the house, so I shall leave it in the hands of fate... feeling really sick this morning, boobs are like boulders, and sense of smell is through the roof, so I shall try and remain positive.

How you holding up emvy?
