My dh came to my booking in apt last time but won't be doing this time. It's practice around here to take the woman in separately to speak to her, and I was asked questions re domestic history etc. I suppose they wanted to check everything was ok and I wasn't being coerced to say anything. He just sat outside feeling awkward! He'll just be coming to the scans this time, unless there are similar issues to last time when I'll need him there for support.

ThatGirl82 · 26/02/2017 19:33

Hi 88Claire I don't have any advice but I am also looking into booking an early scan at Babybond in Wimbledon. My friend went to a different branch of the same company and said they were very good. I'm going to wait until I'm nearly 8 weeks so that a heartbeat is definitely likely to be visible.

If you do go before me, let me know how you get on. I'm lucky and haven't experienced a miscarriage before, but am still super anxious as its my first pregnancy, and the £90 will be money well spent for reassurance.

88claire · 26/02/2017 19:46

Thatgirl

I actually booked it for the 8th so I will be almost 7 weeks. I'll definitely let you know what I think!

I looked at peek a baby but they only do abdominal ultrasound which surely can't pick much up at 6 weeks!

Here goes the countdown til the scan!

Kirsty8333 · 26/02/2017 19:57

I had an adominal scan at the hospital at 6week 5 days and they could see the heartbeat

PlayOnWurtz · 26/02/2017 20:12

That's impressive I've had scans at 6 7 8 and 9 weeks before and they always had to go transvaginal to see anything! I must just be very fat Grin

MoominMama22 · 26/02/2017 20:30

Wasn't much to see (except reassuring hb) at 7+5 for me abdominal scan, but with DD saw her, proper little human bean, at 10w abdominal ultrasound. I still have the pics I love them, and it's mad to think that in a weeks time this little one will be at that stage and jumping around, although I don't get to see them again for another 3+ weeks but I will be able to imagine them in there all cute and bean shaped.

Was someone asking about sickness meds? I've been prescribed prochlorperazine buccal tablets that are supposed to melt on your gums. I'm not entirely convinced by them yet to be honest. I haven't vommed after I've taken one but I have to be fine before I can contemplate holding it in my mouth without being sick and not having anything to eat or drink, it takes about 45 mins to dissolve and if you accidentally taste it, it's vile! Also makes me feel dizzy. Have had to take one tonight as I haven't been able to stop projectile vomiting all day and I feel so grim. I didn't manage to let it dissolve I think I swallowed most of it, Took it at 6pm and have held down some dinner. 👍

Lovechild2016 · 26/02/2017 21:02

Aaaww moomin projectile vomiting all day I don't know how you are managing. I have been floored with nausea in the last 48 hours and am really struggling and I know it could be so much worse. No idea how I am going to cope at work tomorrow. feel like a massive wimp.

DrMum83 · 26/02/2017 21:12

Evening!
Haven't posted for a while - had lots of shitty stress. Have been keeping up with you all though (although tricky with so many of us). Sorry to the girls facing uncertainty and the sickly ones.
Anyhow, woke up this morning and felt well, no retching and no sore boobs. I'm 5+6 but been nauseous for over a week so really panicked. I had 3 early losses last year and 1 prior to my dd (age 2).
I took a frer and it hasn't got darker than the last one 5 days ago.
I basically crapped myself and booked a private scan for this afternoon.

Unbelievably, an abdominal scan picked up bloody non identical twins, both with good little heartbeats measuring on the dot. Shocked but oh so pleased. I'm not counting chickens given my history but best scan I've had since my dd.

Aaarrrrghh!

PlayOnWurtz · 26/02/2017 21:13

Oh wow! Congratulations!!!

yellowfrontdoor · 26/02/2017 21:15

Amazing! Congratulations!

DrMum83 · 26/02/2017 21:16

Thankyou! Hoping they stick so much!!

powerpuffer · 26/02/2017 21:17

I had a private scan at 7+6 by my dates and she said to do it abdominally first, even though I hadn't had a drink all morning and wee'd just before I went in and if it want clear then she would try internally.

It was immediately clear and she said they wouldn't get any clearer internally and dated me at 8 weeks so I was happy.

DrMum Congratulations! Twins! Amazing news!

Lamaitresse · 26/02/2017 21:19

Oh wow! Fantastic news, what a lovely surprise 😍

DancingUnicorn · 26/02/2017 21:20

Amazing! Congratulations! :)

Lovechild2016 · 26/02/2017 21:25

Omg we were just saying earlier in the thread there would be some of us with twins!! Great news DrMum

I have just projectile vomited Smile feel the best I've felt in two days unsure whether to seize this opportunity to try and eat something or just enjoy it, I think the latter.

Lovechild2016 · 26/02/2017 21:27

Great news too powerpuff!

DrMum83 · 26/02/2017 21:28

Thanks all! Congrats to you too powerpuff!

emvy · 26/02/2017 21:29

Wonderful news DrMum! So so happy for you! Just what i needed to hear after a momentary (pretty hefty) meltdown about my upcoming scan and what it will uncover. I've come full circle this afternoon from positivity to uncertainty to full strength doom. Beginning to emerge from the other side. Definitely don't want to put a downer on this lovely bit of positivity though so please have a slice of cake and happy face to end the post... CakeGrin

DrMum83 · 26/02/2017 21:32

emvy thankyou! Yes, fully onboard with the meltdowns. Mine was of epic proportions this morning when I thought my symptoms had gone, (think streaming eyes and nose, wet hair, racing up the motorway to get to scan appt)
When's your scan?

emvy · 26/02/2017 21:37

Yep, that was me but sat on my bed with piles of tissues repeatedly telling my OH he just wasn't listening BlushGrin my scan is a week Monday. Sadly at my last scan they couldn't find a heartbeat and with the CRL they explained they really should have heard one and so to prepare ourselves for the worst but not give up hope entirely. The scan a week Monday is to confirm it's not viable so I'm currently in a constant cycle of 'possibly, probably, definitely not' and it's only been 3 days! It's so lovely to hear of good scan results though, even if it's not meant to be for us this time around.

DrMum83 · 26/02/2017 21:42

Aaah bless you emvy I'm sorry you're in a shitty limbo state. So it's a ten day wait? Could you book an earlier scan privately for say 7 days post first scan? They should be able to comment on viability with a week's gap. I unfortunately spk from bitter experience having been in your situation. I truly feel for you. I also know there's not a lot one can say to help, it's a horrid shitty waiting game. I guess trying to keep busy might help.

Try to stay strong and I hope things come good. X

emvy · 26/02/2017 21:52

Thank you DrMum Smile I'm sorry you've been here, it massively sucks and you are so right, nothing anyone can say can make it any better. As you probably know though, I think it's often just the speaking about it that eases anxiety/stress for a moment or two so it's always nice to have a listening ear!

I don't think my OH will go for a shorter scan time as he's very matter of fact and taking absolutely everything that was said at the last scan as gospel which is completely fair. I think as well, if I get to 10 days and they confirm it's not viable I'm more likely to believe them! As silly as that sounds. If I waited a shorter time I'd be worried I'd just question it. I have heard some people have to wait 14 days so thankfully I'm not one of them!

MoominMama22 · 26/02/2017 21:53

Oh no emvy I thought it was Monday as in tomorrow. Sad
Massive congratulations drmum
lovechild nausea can be just as debilitating as vomming.i sympathise with both! I would grab some food while you feel able. Empty stomach only feels good briefly, and retching on empty is awful. I've got my appetite back a bit this evening so having some toast before bed although not sure the heartburn will be worth it! Feel like such a whinge but it's so bloody hard. Dreading the week ahead because DD has become so clingy. Wish I had family around to help. Sad

Zookeeper73 · 26/02/2017 21:57

Wow, congratulations Drmum!

Ugh, sorry for those that are projectile vomiting, hopefully you feel better after at least.

Hang in there emvy, this rollercoaster has to calm down at some point surely!

TippetyTapWriter · 26/02/2017 22:15

Wow drmum congratulations! And glad you also had a positive news scan powerpuffer! Here's to more positive news for everyone xx
