My skin is hideous, massive jawline zits. All I want to eat is toast and marmite!

Emberblu · 24/02/2017 22:41

Thanks everyone, I know I just have to wait and see really...if I'm not feeling better by 12 weeks I will definitely get some medication to help cos I can't face this all the way through. My mum was very sick with her first all the way through but my sisters were fine with all of theirs so I might just be the unlucky sibling. Good luck to anyone with appointments or worrying symptoms Flowers

GimbleInTheWabe · 24/02/2017 22:41

Glad I'm not alon LondonLoves and I loooove marmite but it gives me heartburn EnvyI may have to purchase some vegemite as I think that didn't have the same effect, though not as nice!

shellbell2014 · 25/02/2017 06:03

Gimbleinthewabe my skin has been awful, really dry, flakey and spotty. Not really a good look! I'm also going off meat but mainly processed or red meat. I had to leave the room when DH had pepperoni pizza this week as I thought I was going to be sick. Then same last night when he cooked sausages. I'm pretty much living off crackers, toast and apples! Worst of it is I've also gone off cakes and chocolates-really hoping that doesn't last long!

thepotatoesofdefiance · 25/02/2017 07:12

shellbell I've not been able to eat chocolate throughout all of my pregnancies, can't drink tea or coffee either. Depressing to think I have another 7 months to go without chocolate but I can gorge myself the day after the birth as it disappears immediately!

Tigger83 · 25/02/2017 07:27

Hi everyone hope you all have some lovely weekend plans. I was supposed to be doing a long walk today but I've felt so exhausted this week I've opted out. I'm also so bloody emotional. Can I ask who have you told about your pregnancy and when did you tell them?

shellbell2014 · 25/02/2017 07:40

Potatoes I really hope this isn't a whole pregnancy thing, I too have gone off coffee and tea so cake and chocolate were the only things that I had left to get me through!

shellbell2014 · 25/02/2017 07:43

Tigger- as we went through IVF we have told those who knew about the treatment -parents, best friends, my head teacher at work and my sister in law. We told them once we had the positive bloods from the hospital. Not planning on telling others until 12 week scan.

doomkittycleo · 25/02/2017 07:57

Tigger, I have told my mum, dad and sister, the in-laws, my best friend, one other close friend and x2 ladies from work that I am friendly with (one of them is also pregnant) so it's like our secret club.

Will go public after the first scan.

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 25/02/2017 08:00

Fingers crossed for Thursday otter16 I'm exactly same gestation as you and also have a scan on Thursday so fingers crossed it will be a good news day.

Re whoever it was that is being really sick, if you have HG then you could have it until the end. There is a support group on Facebook called HG warriors which you might want to look at, a friend set it up, she had horrific sickness in both her pregnancies and was hospitalised many times and her second ended up being delivered about 5 weeks early because of it. Hope yours isn't as bad.

chintara sorry the scan wasn't as reassuring as hoped. It's good there is a heartbeat but I think because it's only 80 that's why the consultant is being negative, I think they are meant to be nearer to 100 in the early stages and then increases to anything up to around 150. A low heartbeat can mean something isn't right and it's only a matter of time before it stops beating. But having been ttc number 3 and mc for so long, I've seen many miracles along the way with others where scans didn't look as they should and then turned out ok in the end so will pray you become one of those stories!

5+6 today and just can't shake a feeling of dread that this can't possibly work out ok. Maybe if the scan is ok on thurs then my mindset might change, but after so long I just feel like why should this be any different, even though the other part of my brain is saying that it is different, as I'm on pred. Driving myself mad!

emvy · 25/02/2017 08:47

Tigger we have told my parents, the in laws and bosses at work. We actually hadn't told anyone until I had the symptoms that made us go for the early scan but since being told it might not progress we felt that parents might like to have known and supported us and bosses needed to know for time off. I'm dying to tell my closest friends but my OH doesn't want me to so I'm very torn!

I'm sorry you're having a difficult day Loopyaboutmy2boys!Sad it seems that we go around in circles with up and down days. My only advice would be to do something you enjoy to cheer yourself up and hope you feel better tomorrow!

I dreamt we had actually had the baby last night (weirdest feeling as I have no children) and all was fine. We were on a day trip somewhere and I was breastfeeding it?! Most bizarre feeling as obviously never breastfed in my life! Hoping it's a good sign but more likely down to my state of mind and highly emotional brain! Confused

DancingUnicorn · 25/02/2017 08:49

Tigger we haven't told anyone yet! It's so weird... kind of nice it being our little secret, but also hate lying. But, it's getting hard to hide it at work now, as I feel rough for so much of the day. Planning on telling ohs parents next weekend when we see them and will ring mine so they know at the same time. Will probably tell a few close friends after that!

hometownunicorn · 25/02/2017 09:01

tigger I'm 8+2 and since the BFP we've told both sets of parents, my brother and SIL and a couple of my close friends. Told my parents straight away because I wanted my mum to know (she's been waiting a while for grandchildren!) DP's parents came up to visit a couple of weeks ago, so we told them then. And my brother and friends I've told so that there's support if anything does go wrong. I thought a lot about it and although I'm a bit worried about telling anyone before 12 weeks, I also couldn't cope with the thought of having to explain that I was pregnant and then wasn't if anything happened.

But, we haven't told any of DP's siblings, and I've been making rubbish excuses to loads of my friends about why I'm not drinking and am so tired. I wouldn't be surprised if someone's guessed.

I'm shattered this morning even though I slept for about 9 hours. I also think my dreams are getting more vivid. Maybe that's what's so exhausting! Hope everyone's doing ok today.

MoominMama22 · 25/02/2017 09:22

tigger we have told parents (mine and PIL) my best friend, (all far away) and 3xmummy friends I became very close to from antenatal class last time, they are my only local support network so I will need their support if things don't work out.
Wishing we hadn't told PILs because their response was so meh. Can't wait to tell our siblings but going to wait til 12w scan... 3 weeks and 4 days to go!

Few other randoms I've had to tell, playgroup leader due to lifting and "work" - (I'm a freelance photographer.) The list adds up of those you have to tell!

thepotatoesofdefiance · 25/02/2017 09:27

With ds1 I had a series of dreams that I gave birth but he wasn't a human baby (ranged from being a puppy to a stick insect Confused). I think I couldn't imagine actually having a baby so my dreaming mind came up with loads of strange substitutes!

MrsCharlieD · 25/02/2017 09:34

Morning everyone! 7 weeks today and the nausea has kicked in. Currently at the hairdressers and feeling yuck!

thepotatoesofdefiance · 25/02/2017 09:34

Tigger I told my boss shortly after I found out only because he'd just offered me a new temporary role and it was relevant to whether I could accept it. I told mil last week as we were staying with her and I couldn't hide it, ds1 too because he wanted to know why I keep being sick and the childminder in case he talks about it with her. No one else, I prefer to wait until 12 weeks, but I should really tell my mum or she'll be offended! I'm about 8+3 now.

10storeylovesong · 25/02/2017 09:34

Sorry ember another one here who threw up until I gave birth. I gave birth at 27+2 last time and I remember feeling so guilty that as well as the fear for my ds coming so early, I felt relief that I wasn't pregnant anymore. I felt human again as soon as I gave birth.

Last time we didn't tell anyone until 12 week scan. This time we've told both sides of family, work and quite a few close friends. I've been feeling so rough I can't socialise and sick of making excuses, and they would all be there for me if something went wrong.

MrsCharlieD · 25/02/2017 09:40

Also we've told both sets of parents, my brother and sil, our closest friends and my grandma.

Zookeeper73 · 25/02/2017 10:01

We haven't told anyone yet. I'm torn between waiting until we know what's happening or telling close family and friends now for support. Last time we didn't tell anyone until 12 weeks but I'd prefer to tell them earlier this time.

Oh wow potatoes, those are some very bizarre dreams! I can't imagine giving birth to a stick insect!

GimbleInTheWabe · 25/02/2017 10:05

Happy to hear I'm not the only spotty faced, picky eater! Put a bit of make up on today so I feel a brand better about it!

We've not told anybody yet, we're going to wait until the 12 week scan so I have a little while to wait and fingers crossed everything goes okay. We have an idea to write a Mother's Day card and inside write 'grand' above the 'happy mothers day' but as I'll be the first to make my mum a granny (and I'm the youngest!) and give it to her on Mother's Day but she's a bit unpredictable with her reactions so not sure it's a good idea!

Lovechild2016 · 25/02/2017 10:11

Feelin so sick this morning I have got so much to do but can't make it off the sofa. Kitchen is making me gag. Can't stomach anything and scared to brush my teeth. Sympathising so much with those in the same/worse positions. Not sure how I'm going to get through a weekend of supposed socialising without telling my friends. Have only told my parents, PIL sister and my best friend so far.

DancingUnicorn · 25/02/2017 10:15

I feel less sick this morning, so now obviously panicking! :s

88claire · 25/02/2017 10:43

Feeling much better today... Thanks for the words of encouragement! Also got this today which I never got to with my miscarriage :)

Thanks again ladies!

Have a good weekend everyone and hope any nasty symptoms give you a break
