Morning...............

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
twelveyeargap · 01/03/2007 11:09

Oh and we're ALL working for the wrong company. I have a friend who works for a "large swiss credit institution" and she just told me that once you're over a certain number of weeks pregnant, they cut your hours to 10am to 4pm (no loss of pay) so that you don't have to commute with the hoardes. That's on top of 6 months full pay, 25 days free emergency childcare should you need it, etc.

This came out after I was huffing about the two 50-hour weeks I have to do after next week. Tsk.

ShowOfHands · 01/03/2007 11:09

Show us your knuckles. Cinnamon is antipodean. She may have been confused.

Cinnamon, did you ever answer my Wheel of Time question? I'm almost embarrassed to repeat it...

twelveyeargap · 01/03/2007 11:11

That's awfully kind of you.

BTW, I haven't forgotten about your cleaning lady. This is probably stupid, but my house is such a state that I'm too mortified to have anyone round to see if they'd be interesting in cleaning it. It's pathetic isn't it? I can't help thinking any prospective cleaner would run out screaming in terror.

Marscentio · 01/03/2007 11:12

Once I've finished with the wax I'll show you.

Marscentio · 01/03/2007 11:13

twelveyear........ I have another cleaner who is completely free (sister of my cleaner) and trust me... if they can survive my house yours will be a piece of p.......

Mrsjaffabiffa · 01/03/2007 11:25

Still can't see it tyg, boo hoo......... Normally it would say, TYG's pictures at the bottom of the profile page. NO? Thats not there when I look.

BTW I had a baby shower with ds. My bf and sister organised it, if was a fun evening at 38 weeks pg, just the girls, nibbles, non alchoholic wine of sorts, Shloer or what ever it is and a few silly games, lots of nice presents though.
I tend to agree with you MKG on the only one front though.

Quite like the idea of the secret shower, how very kind of you.
I'm in. Actually bought me back to earth with a bump, it's easy to forget that ANYONE (present company excluded) could be reading these threads.

ShowOfHands · 01/03/2007 11:29

Oh yes, we're being watched. How odd.

Mars, you didn't see the porn/pirate chat from a few weeks ago did you? I wasn't there that week. I was busy. It was twelve and LG&T, I think they're depraved personally.

Marscentio · 01/03/2007 11:30

Okay....

you have to email me with your details to

lovelymarslady at aol dot com.

I will need your address, how you would like the parcel addressed (your RL or "the mumsnetter") and any likes or dislikes and also for those on their second+ baby what you don't want repeats of.

This should arrive with me by March 14th. I will email you with your swappee and your gifts should arrive by April 9th.

That way if someone doesn't want to take part there is no pressure.

Now to take myself back to the multiples threads.

scootermum · 01/03/2007 11:36

SOH-He will have to go to the bosses boss.No one who wears a fake fur gilet should be able to get away with anything else untoward. Its too much.

TYG-Lots of nice flats, (or shoes with a low heel as a compromise in New Look).Cheap too, so you dont need to feel bad after the baby is here if you dont wear them again.I MAY have bought a few pairs at the weekend.(Scoot looks round furtively to check DH is not around-he has never let up on me since last year when he counted all my shoes.I dont mind a flattie in the right context.Being heavily pg is certainly the right context. But I would sooner a heel or a wedge..
SOH if I get you in the baby shower im going to send you a pair of 5 inch wedges! But the baby may not get much use out of them I suppose other than entertainment value as you stagger around the room in them cursing me to high heaven!

TYG-That was a good idea re the shower thread, posting thing. And who said £10 limit?I think thats a good idea as well..
I would say I would set the thread up but if I do it it will go wrong.I am a luddite of the highest order.(Except for working my ipod, which I can do with ease for some reason, but nothing else)

Pebble-im forever locking myself out.We have given a spare key to the village pub now and they are under strict instructions to let me in with it, but not give it to me in case I lose that one as well!

The estate agent has just called to book in a viewing at our house on Saturday, pre open day which is next weekend. Will have to tidy now.Already am being gripped by 'viewing anxiety'.I knew this was a bad idea!

Im amazed at the variation in maternity pay and allowances.I wish they would make it uniform. But only if it was to Swedish banking standards. If only I wasnt a total maths dunce I would work for a Swedish bank.I dont think Social Care will ever offer such perks..An old lady has just given me a questionable Mint Imperial though...

twelveyeargap · 01/03/2007 11:36

OK, i've deleted you and re-added Mrsjaffabiffa and frenchsmallfry. If it doesn't work, then I'm lost. Sorry.

Thanks mars. I'll have to get over myself and phone before it gets any worse!

scootermum · 01/03/2007 11:38

Thats very kind of you Marslady..Are you really from Mars? Are we being watched by people from another planet?Or d'you just like Mars bars?

scootermum · 01/03/2007 11:39

I cant see still either TYG..

twelveyeargap · 01/03/2007 11:43

Nnngggghhh. I've changed that photo to "visible to any mumsnetter" seeing as you can't see my face anyway. Hopefully THAT works.

Shall we take up Marslady's kind offer then? Will be lovely to have it a secret. Thanks again.

ShowOfHands · 01/03/2007 11:57

Yes I think we should definitely take Mars up on the offer!

cinnamontam · 01/03/2007 12:19

Ohhhh dear - you can't trust that Marslady with anything

Ok that's a lie...she is my doula and i have trusted her with me, bean and my extended family during labour so she can do anything!!! Plus i have heard her lemon drizzle cake is to die for. Not that i have had the pleasure of trying it yet

Bensonbluebird · 01/03/2007 12:26

Wow you have been chatty this morning!

LW - thinking of you, hope everything is fine and that you will be back to tell us all about it soon.

A secret shower sounds great. Mars, how do you find the time to snoop on this thread? it's a full time job. Very generous of you though.

Got a big meeting tomorrow so should probably get my head down for the rest of the day.

Just wanted to share my excitement at having got my holidays organised. We are going to do a house swap to the south of France. The people we are swapping with seem lovely and their house sounds great. I can't wait!

cinnamontam · 01/03/2007 12:31

BBB - the house swap sounds divine

Juicylucytoo · 01/03/2007 12:34

The very word Holiday sounds devine to me at the moment. House swap in the South of France makes me want to cry

I am emailing the very kind Lady Mars pronto with my details subject: May secret shower - so you don't think I'm a spammer How very exciting.

LupinsBigLump · 01/03/2007 12:34

Scooter why not try looking online for appliances - I think they probably have better deals and it will save the boring shopping

LW hope everything is ok, will be waiting for news

Right thats as far as I got with thread, dd is poorly so will catch up with ev1 else later

cinnamontam · 01/03/2007 12:45

Scoot - I've bought all our appliances online and got really good prices. Try these guys. We bought our washer and dryer from them and they were the cheapest i could find and no problems with delivery etc..

Marscentio · 01/03/2007 12:51

Cinnamon.... May I simply say...... Krispy Kremes!

Bensonbluebird · 01/03/2007 12:52

Scoot,

Just don't use Comet online. I'm having an exchange of furious letters with them at the moment (see, despite piles of work I can't stay away)

Mrsjaffabiffa · 01/03/2007 12:54

No JL of course we don't think you are a spaMMer?????????, or did you mean a spanner?

Thanks Mars sounds great, but I feel a little bad as I am in France, postage etc..... Does anymone have a strong objection to me joining, being that sending would be abroard? We could inc, postage in the £10 limit?

scootermum · 01/03/2007 13:25

Dont be silly Mrs JB.Get yourself on the babyshower list.It cant be that much to post to France surely?
I have emailed the lovely Marslady already! How exciting!

Cant stop thinking about lwatkins now.I wonder what hosp she was going to?I hope she is ok..

Im going to try that link tam thanks-cant stand the thought of spending all weekend on some retail park arguing about fridges with dh.But not going Comet, BB.Am taking your advice..

scootermum · 01/03/2007 13:26
