Thank you, everyone. This was our first after many, many years of trying. So we are rather devastated.

I'm so sorry to hear that, lentil, it must make it even more gutting.

If there is any upside, it's that you have found that you both can conceive, and fingers crossed you will do so again quickly.

When I miscarried a number of years ago, I heard something on the radio (Women's Hour, I think) that made me understand why the grief was so deep - Sheila Kitzinger said... "for first pregnancies that miscarry, it is also the loss of being a mother".

Hearing it said like this helped me to process what I was feeling at the time so much better than I had been able to before.

Fluffywallow · 26/01/2017 12:25

I'm so sorry lentil. I wish you all the very best for the future.

Shwighty1 · 26/01/2017 12:53

penguin that is a remarkable way of putting it.

Pinkbottletop · 26/01/2017 13:16

penguin that is spot on. Thank you for putting it like that.

This nausea needs to do one now! It's become 10x worse now.

WhiteLily86 · 26/01/2017 13:24

Travelgeek · 26/01/2017 15:36

Oh lentil, so sorry to hear this. Take care of yourself.

londonexhile my bmi is just 30 too, I was hoping the nauseau putting me off my food would mean I dipped under that for my booking in weight, but I dont think it'll work out that way, I'm just the same weight as before - made up for any loss by more boobs too!

Londonexhile · 26/01/2017 17:02

I just need to get a couple of cm taller travelgeek - maybe I'll wear thick socks!!

Just had my early scan & all is good! Heard the heartbeat which was very exciting! The little blueberry is 12mm long which is apparently about right for 7+5.

Would recommend the Birth company if anyone is thinking about a scan - got a video through with the heartbeat & everything!

Ah how lovely london, I'm definitely going to go for an early scan but I'm going to wait another 3/4 weeks. I'm so much more anxious this time....with DD I did my pg test and it was positive and then I did no others and happily waited away until 12 week scan.

This pg I'm limiting myself to a pregnancy test a week! Although it was very reassuring to have a super strong line within 20seconds of POAS this morning plus the nauseous feeling is coming in waves throughout the day.

I'm getting quite a bump already so it going to be tough to keep it under wraps until 12 weeks! I don't think I even had a hint of a bump until I was 16 weeks or so last time and I only had about 3 items of maternity wear as my regular clothes were fine..... I think this time will be different!

ZylaB · 26/01/2017 17:43

lentil I'm so sorry, be kind to yourself

Fluffywallow · 26/01/2017 17:53

London great scan pic! Pleased it went well for you.

I had my early scan too this morning and all was well, I was so so nervous so am pleased it's done and we've seen the heartbeat. Now just another long slog until the 12 week scan!

Also had my booking in appt and they confirmed I'll be consultant led this time due to issues with my first pregnancy and labour...I expected that and am reassured by it.

All in all a good day at chez fluffy.
