Thought I would get there 1st!!!

Zooming in - almost finished housework and feeling less stressed out - poor DH, he came home to a very wound-up mummy when he got home for lunch - after almost driving into a wall on my way back from dropping him off at work (!!!!) and doing lots of cleaning and hoovering, I must say I am feeling better! Still got lots to do though .....

Zoom, Zoom, Zoom ........

ARGH - Can't remember anything anyone said, apart from MrsGV getting the wrong end of the stick ..... LOL!

Hope everyone else is ok!!

Morning! ((((hugs)))) to you all on this bright shiny new day !

SOSPL & CD - Emily is fine (mostly) now thanks - is on anti-biotics for an ear infection and just has a bit of a cold now (have just heard her sneezing in the lounge and I can hear the snot shooting out of her - she says she's got a tissue).

CD - how are the preparations going for the party? What sort of cake are you making now, still are fire engine?

Eca - had to laugh at that baby turning website & the image of you trying that and the rug slipping away (although not laughing too much as will be trying it myself later).

Ellie - have a fab weekend - try to be a good girl!

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 23/02/2007 08:48

Morning all, another DRY night here which is fab! Slept really badly though as I am full of cold and couldn't breathe!

Dh in a shocking mood as well this a.m as he is so busy at work again - working until 10.00 last night having left the house at 7.00 yesterday morning. Anyway, he was well snappy and left me in tears. Poor B came over and gave me a huge hug and then got me a tissue. I hate crying in front of her but dh was so awful and I feel so knackered, that I couldn't stop!. He has since phoned twice with his tail between his legs!!

Loads to do this morning. We are off to the pil's today for the weekend. Partly looking forward to it as B will be off our hands to a degree, but dh's mum drives me a bit mad. Also going to pick up a chair from someone - via ebay - for the nursery.

Right must run.

Will try and catch up before we head.

Love to all. x

Eddas · 23/02/2007 09:08

Morning all,

SOSPL, good to hear about the dry night, at dh for taking it out on you. dh does it to me too but to be fair i suppose he gets it back from me too sometimes

Ellie, hope you have a great weekend, i love 80 stuff so v , but don't think i'd be up to dancing to much anyway!!!

Yesterday was very odd on here but could not stop posting as it was all very silly, think i regressed about 15 years. I don't know all over minty sperm!!!!

My rash seems to have calmed a bit now and didn't wake me up last night. Only had to get up to pee once and obviously woke to change positions about 1,000 times, but still, no itching

Must dash to drop dd at pre school, then do the dreaded tesco run. I suppose i do have to eat

flumppootle · 23/02/2007 09:22

Morning

Well done Becky on here dry night sospl. Grr to dh taking it out on you, have a great weekend at pils and make the most of the help.

Have a great weekend Ellie, any chance of a photo on Monday?

DD is still poorly so she is going to the doctors later. Poor soul was pacing the house again last night and finally told us that it is her throat that is sore. I feel so sorry for her, its her 5th brithday and sunday and we have already had to postpone her birthday treat so fingers crossed that she is well enough to have her birthday tea on sunday.

Claricebean is your dh better now?

maveta · 23/02/2007 09:56

Morning everyone. What's with all the snotty kiddies lately? You are all saints for being able to deal with that and generally being pregnant at the same time!

Well here I am at work, have been for an hour and not done an iota of work so far. Can't stop thinking about what real nappies to buy! So today I have finally decided to get the rest bought so I can forget about it!! I even dreamt about real nappies last night...AAAAAARGH.

Had our antenatal class which was good, how to care for your newborn. Think these classes are giving dh lots more reassurance and confidence that he will be okay, not having had much experience with babies before. Really really like the midwife who does the course, he's very very homeopathic and natural. Seems like camomile is a remedy for everything! Will have to get stocked up. We had a bit of a row on the way home because dh is so sceptical of any new fangled ideas I come up with i.e. real nappies and makes me feel a bit of a hippy but then when this guy says they're a good idea, he's all for it

but I was probably being oversensitive too.. all blew over quick enough.

Another hour to kill and I'm sneaking out to get my hair cut. I LOVE working on my own!

maveta · 23/02/2007 10:22

I can't BELIEVE this. I'm actually going to have to do some work.

maveta · 23/02/2007 10:22
Grin
mammyjo · 23/02/2007 10:26

Morning! Reasonable night of sleep here so feel brighter this morning.

Maveta, lol at your dreaming of real nappies! Definitely need to get out more Have a good hair cut.

Well done Becky on another dry night. Hope you feel better soon SOSPL.

Ellie, have a fab weekend. I love eighties music so am very at you going away. Hope you have packed your rara skirt and hot pink leggings!!

Have a good day all xxx

flumppootle · 23/02/2007 11:00

Maveta that is so sweet dreaming about real nappies Have a good hair cut.

Just done the shopping online, I cant face shopping with all three kiddies and one of them poorly

I really need a good book to read, can anyone recommend one?????

CaptainDippy · 23/02/2007 11:17

Hello! Had to cuddle DD2 to sleep on DD1's bed this morning, which is frustrating, but I guess I have to remain positive and say at least she went to sleep ok - Sooooo much easier just being able to put her down and leave her though - I'll never be able to cuddle her to sleep when DD2 is around - Still holding out hope she might start going down properly again soon .....!!!?

Anyway, have made dinner for tonight as my dad is coming to visit this a/n as it is DD1's Birthday on Sunday and he can't make the Party. We're all going to the local Zoo - very exciting! Hope the weather stays nice .....

EmmyMummy - Glad Em is doing a lot better on the anti-b's etc - Hopefully she'll be back at school soon, eh!!?

Hurrah!! for another dry night SOSPL!

that DS is still poorly FLump, hoping he perks up soon, poor wee mite....

Thinking of taking DD2 back to the crainial osteopath that she saw when she was newborn and seeing if they can explain / help the recent odd behaviour - DH was worried that he was going to break her poor wee arm trying to take her PJ's off this morning, she was screaming and thrashing so much ..... Definitely going to try and make a drs appt for Mon.

CaptainDippy · 23/02/2007 11:33

Yes - we are still making the Fire Engine cake Emmy - Have all the bits, going to hopefully make it tonight after DD's are in bed ..... If I can stop myself eating all the sweeties and Curly Wurlys by then!!!! Will post a pic when it is finished!! (Even if it is really crap!!)

What sort of stuff do you like reading Flump??

OP posts:
flumppootle · 23/02/2007 11:44

Good luck with the cake CD, cant wait to see a picture. It sounds really cute.

I like reading most stuff, am a bookworm, not coping with anything too intellectual at the moment. Read The Third Policeman by Flann O'Brian last week and I am still baffled - have no idea what was going on throughout the entire book

Could just do with something to distract me and switch off with. I look on the shelves but nothing looks appealing which is why I thought that I would ask if anyone could recommend one. Pwweesse as ds says!

CaptainDippy · 23/02/2007 11:52

Emmymummy · 23/02/2007 12:59

Flump - The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger is a great read. Brain has gone blank otherwise.........

Emmymummy · 23/02/2007 13:01

Oh yeah, and The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova - a bit spooky, but a good read.

Emmymummy · 23/02/2007 15:00

Where've you all gone?

flumppootle · 23/02/2007 15:12

OOooo Weeonion that is tempting.....

Emmymummy, thanks for those titles
Will be raiding amazon in a minute!

How is your lo? I am about to take mine to the doctors. She is fast asleep on the sofa at the moment and will have to wake her up
Spoke too soon, ds has just woken her up.

maveta · 23/02/2007 15:21

16.21 in the big brother house and maveta is still working...

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

1becomes3 · 23/02/2007 15:54

Afternoon all, have been to the dr's with DD today, turns out it's not just teething she has a ear infection as well! poor little thing.

Anyway they gave her some antibiotics, only problem is she hates the taste (I don't blame her it is nasty stuff)
Anyone got any good ideas on how to get her to take it?

Have to say PMSL at "a horde of angry boiled eggs on legs" can that be our next thread title!?!

DH has taken up calling me egg as a knickname as I am quite egg shaped.

1becomes3 · 23/02/2007 15:57

When does GMM get back from her hols?
She is on holiday isn't she?

Birdiebump · 23/02/2007 16:44

Quick post as have to run out into the rain again to get tomato puree. Feeling v nervous as DS1 and his mate who is staying with us are cooking the dinner tonight....

Snap on another dry night SOSPL!

Emmymummy - have read both Time Traveller and The Historian. Loved the former but found The Historian very slow going and disappointed at the end.

Had a very good day today as a friend unexpectedly took DS2 out to a theme park with his kids, and another friend is doing the same tomorrow - Yippee! I just can't handle theme parks atm - way too boiled-egg-like.

And has Maveta stopped working yet??

Katy44 · 23/02/2007 17:29

Hi everyone, very quick post as have to make DH's tea (what a good little wife)
weeonion, don't run off to the circus (although the image of you being a St Bernard tamer is quite amusing!!)
Hope everyone's OK
1b3, hope your DD is better soon. All I can suggest for the nasty medicine (assuming you can't hide it in orange juice??) is bribery! She has my sympathy

mammyjo · 23/02/2007 18:41

1b3, have you got a syringe for the medicine. Not sure how old your lo is but when ds was smaller I could hold him and trickle the medicine into the side of his mouth via the syringe. Took a while but got it down him eventually. Dont know how easy this will be with a pregnant belly in front too, as I used to hold him on my lap in a vice like grip. Am a childrens nurse and have learnt a few tips over the years! Bribery is definitely another good one to try or putting the medicine into some crusha milkshake syrup. No good for teeth I know but strong tasting to mask the medicine flavour.
